Windows Update checks constantly updates

It is why he will never show me updates available for me to download and install.  It s been like this for about a month and has been brought to my attention by the opinion of taskbar informing me that it was not updated to Windows Defender.  I ve tried most of the solutions found on these forums and others similar.

-J' rebooted and tried Windows Update - nothing works.
-J' closed all antivirus, antispyware, and firewall programs (Bitdefender Free Edition, Windows Defender, and ZoneAlarm free edition, respectively)-no result
-J' deleted Internet Explorer browsing history - nothing helps 8´s.
-J' confirmed that the Background Intelligent Transfer Service is set to automatic (delayed start), and its status is started.  The same with the Windows Update service - to no avail.
-In the network of Internet Properties Connections tab settings, I said to automatically detect settings - nothing helped.
-J' tried to reset Windows Update using Microsoft Fix It components in mode by default, and in aggressive mode.  I have to close it with the Task Manager and the Microsoft Fix It twice crashes so that "checking the status of Windows Update.  That is why - in vain.  (Note: I prefer not to change the register myself unless it's my last hope and have extremely clear instructions and detailed on what exacly do;) I heard that you can make a big mess if you do something wrong.)
-In the hope that after Service Pack 2 would solve the problem, I downloaded manually from Microsoft´s Web site, and it is installed.  However - in vain.
-J' have recently scanned for viruses using Bitdefender and have no and some time ago I manually downloaded the Windows Defender updates, scanned my computer of spyware with it and found nothing.

My system:
Dell Vostro 410
Windows Vista Business 32-bit, Service Pack 2
Intel Quad Core 2.66 ghz CPU
3 GB RAM

I got my internet through a LinkSys Router, but Windows Update worked through before router with no problems, and none of its parameters have changed since then.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Continue with the rest of the steps, restart and report results.
Pleae also check in the event viewer for error messages about the same time, the updates are being installed.
Go to start, right click on computer, then select Viewer as well. Use the method copy paste & report back with the full error message.
Thank you

  • Windows Update switches continually between two messages "checking for...» ' and ' check if... ". »

Windows Update and Microsoft Update on Windows XP (runs under a virtual machine VMware) constantly alternate between "Checking for the latest version of Windows Update software" and "checking if your computer has the latest version of Windows Update software for use with the site. So, the problem is no longer occurring after that I uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio 2010 Premium (due to a different problem). I don't know what happened here, but since it works now, I'm happy.

    Hello

I have trouble with this and maybe someone can help you. I already tried a number of thigs, I'm still having the same problem. Any help much appreciated.

Question: Windows Update constantly looking for updates.

    I already tried the following:

    1. Windows Update left to run for 7 hours check updates
    2. Microsoft it Fix tool (scanned for errors - detects the error - corrects all errors except "Recent updates installation problems")
    3. Count - manage - computer Management - Services - stopped Background Intelligent Transfer Services - order Windows Update - deleted items in C:/Windows/Software Distribution.

I would have reinstalled Windows Vista after I put a new drive hard in to the laptop.

  • IE9 is constantly on Windows Update

Why have I had to install IE9 for Vista 5 times so far, even if I installed successfully each time?  He constantly discusses windows update as an important update.

    Hi DavidSa,

I suggest you try the steps in the article provided below and check if it helps.

Troubleshooting Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an update

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/910339

  • Slow/svchost.exe constantly running Windows updates.

What is going on? It's "Patch Tuesday/Wednesday" and updates are not just downhill. By clicking on "check for updates" some results in an endless search for updates and svchost.exe runs constantly on my computer this morning and continues to despite several reboots.

It is obviously something to do with the Windows updates, as they are supposed to nd today I'm worried how and when this will be looked at in / fixed.

I suppose that decisions to accumulate all of the updates in October and prevent users from having a choice in what they do/don't install has something to do with this current problem?

(Have not changed the settings / installed what either, and I did not install W10 either.) The OS that is on my computer, now, is what was on it when I bought it so bar regular update via windows nothing has changed.)

Please click below take a look at this discussion:

Windows Update problems?  First read this.

You can read some of the latest answers on the last page from the bottom to see what others have had to say lately.

  • Windows Update stuck at "checking for updates... "(Windows 7)

No matter what I do, I can't get this thing to work.

Let me start by saying, what operating system (Windows 7 Professional 6.1.7601 "Service Pack 1, Build 7601") is something that I had through my college (Dreamspark). This copy is enabled and works well so far.

However, I tried to reinstall my Adobe applications, and he says that I can not install it because of a Windows update that I did not.

Of course, I go to Windows Update and let it run.

I let it run for hours, almost all night and day. It's just constantly "checking for updates... "scene and will never progress.

    I checked the newspaper and I get recurring errors with the prefix '0 x 8024... '. ».

I did research on the error codes that are matched with the prefix said, and Microsoft took me to the "Diagnostic tool for Windows Update". I have let it run, then select it to troubleshoot Windows Update issues.

It 'fixed' "questions," except one: "recent updates installation problems: don't not fixed."

    Large.

I tried to run Windows Update again for a few hours, but nothing helped. He is always looking for updates even while I'm typing this.

Can someone else offer suggestions? It's infuriating.

    Nope.

    1. to "Set Up Windows" select "Ask Me later".

    http://www.kodyaz.com/images/articles/Windows7-installation-RC/35.PNG

    2. install KB3020369.

    3. install KB3172605.
