Windows Update in Win7 stuck halfway on the upgrade Win10 & consumes CPU

Windows Update has been the consumption of 50% of my CPU stable for the past months. He started right around when upgrading Windows 10 has been downloaded on my computer, but I had not yet installed (download was unintentional). I thought it would end when I've finally updated for Windows 10 a few weeks ago, but to make a long story short, 10 Windows eventually cause an infinite restart loop and I had to enter in the boot menu and go back to Windows 7.

Now back in Windows 7, 50% of my CPU is again consumed on a daily basis. Windows Update function tells me "your upgrade to Windows 10 is ready" and asks me to restart, but restarting does nothing. I can't check the updates either, because "a previous installation must be carried out."

Is it possible to interrupt the Windows 10 half-installed upgrading? Hard for me to imagine it is nothing else, but open to ideas. My only solution was to stop the service, WU, who immediately soothes my CPU, but it restarts after a few hours and I want not updated of future security, so it is not desirable or sustainable.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The big question is Win10 or any part of his installation actually start?

If the restoration does not correct the problem, you may face a complete reinstallation of Windows 7.

Try these things.

Click on the starting planet

type in there services

Click on Services

find Windows Update in the list

Right-click on it and select stop

Second thing:

Download and install the GWXControl Panel.

  • Windows Update fails, laptop breaks down at the restart, Windows 7

I had to buy a new drive hard laptop to my Toshiba Satellite after the first one stopped working. I reinstalled Windows 7 and did all the required Windows updates. So I wonder to restart, as usual, and I do. The problem is, when it gets to the point where the laptop screen goes black, and it should restart, is not. It is just a black screen, no response to the pressing movement or the key of the mouse. I know that the laptop is still technically because that light on is still green. I let him sit there for at least an hour, but nothing happened. Then I had the power button to turn off the laptop completely, he did and he turned his back. The laptop then turns and begins to set up the Windows updates, but it fails. After that I can log into the computer, and I can see that the Windows updates fails. Now, I have done this several times and sometimes the windows updates will succeed, but every time the laptop computer fails to restart correctly, and when I turn it off and turn it back on, he always tells me that Windows updates fail to configure. The last group of Windows updates I tried to do, they all failed to do.

I just looked at the history of updates to Windows, and these are updates that failed

Each update for Windows 7 for x 64 systems.

Daily security for Windows 7 for x 64 EXCEPT KB3035126 systems.

Each Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 security update

And each update Cumulative security for Internet Explorer 11

The only consistently successful updates have been

Update definition for Microsoft Security Essentials

Updates and security for Microsoft Office updates

and x 64 Windows malicious software removal tool

I find it peculiar that you just bought a HP computer brand new, still-in-the-box, which came with Windows 8, not 8.1, preinstalled Windows. That said, cross your fingers, roll up your sleeves and try the fix following multiple step, I cooked up just for your computer...

    ACTIONS

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline.  IMPORTANT => NO SKIP & perform all steps in one uninterrupted session!  [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

1 right-click on the link, select SAVE TARGET as.... & download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above and select run as administrator to run the Norton utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. right-click on the following link and save the download to your desktop: ie8 - rereg.all.zip [1]

4B. right click on the file that you saved in # 4 has & select EXTRACT ALL. This will create a new folder in Office also appointed ie8 - rereg.all. The folder contains both scripts below (plus a third that will NOT be).

    Note-online scripts are good for IE9, IE10 & IE11, too,

    5. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the task bar), open the folder created in step # 4 b above & double-click on the file named ie8 - rereg.32on64.cmd to run the script.

5 b. Repeat this for the file named ie8 - rereg.64on64.cmd then restart.

    6. reset Internet Explorer by the MANUAL of instructions on this page-online http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note => for best results, check the option Remove personal settings .

7 run the Windows Update Troubleshooter from start to finish by the first paragraph on this page-online http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates [2]

    8. restart once more then test by launching a manual check of updates & see if KB2887069 any/all others updated and allows to install now. Follow all the instructions.

    9. assuming all went well, see if Windows 8.1 is available through the store Windows and, if so, if it will be properly installed. Still, follow all the instructions.

  • What's new in Win8.1?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/whats-new
  • 10. assuming that Win8.1 is now installed, perform another manual check for updates & install all Security updates offered (if any); Follow all the instructions.

    11. in response to this post with a status report. Also confirm (hopefully) that Windows 8.1 has been installed successfully.

    Questions about Windows 7

    Hello

If the system is upgradeable to Windows 7 there should be no problem however things
    can and go wrong.

    1. make sure that you have backups. Redundancy is good, many using different methods.

    2. run the Upgrade Advisor and verification of the major features with the Compatibility Center.

    3. check with your system manufacturer and device BIOS manufacturers and drivers for
Windows 7. Many manufacturers have special instructions and help to help upgrade
for Windows 7. Many also have warnings on the traps, we should take account of.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - RUN THIS http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/get/Upgrade-Advisor.aspx

Find the center of compatibility (mainly original)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Update fails to run and get the C800044E error code

Windows Update does not check the updates and I get the C800044E error code.  So far, thi is what I did:

Get the C800044E error code when you try to run Windows Update.  Tried Mr. FixIt, who did not work and tried to do what does not work also:

Please, try the following suggestions to see if the problem can be solved:

    1. click on Start, type notepad in the start search box and press ENTER.

2 copy and paste (or type) the following command lines in the Notepad window:

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

    Ren Download.old download

    net start wuauserv

    3. on the file menu, click on record under and type Rename.bat .

    4. click on save as type and then click on all files (*. *) .

    5. save the Rename.bat file to your desktop.

    6. right click on the Rename.bat file, and then click run as administrator .  If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue . It renames the download folder.

    7. try to install the updates again.

    8. If the problem is resolved, delete the Rename.bat file that you created in the previous steps.

    any other ideas?

Quote your full version of Windows (for example, WinXP SP3;) Windows XP 64 - bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64 - bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64 bit) when you post in a forum or a newsgroup. Please do it in your next reply.

Is this a sudden, new problem?

Are you having difficulty he run in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/971058 and don't you run it in default and aggressive modes?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?
