Sorry for the explanation of front light, slammed other work...  I finished by comparing the service wuauserv with an unaffected system registry keys and replacing the values and remove the extra keys that should not exist.  I did not keep track of all the destruction, sorry.  the main keys are found at HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv

    and the subkeys

I will try to upload a picture or a link to a picture of what these key should look like for most of the systems later.  (use at your own risk because each system may be slightly different)

just be careful to change your registry database - make backups of critical files.

before I did I also deleted and restored all files that begin with "wu" in the windows\system32 folder from another computer.  (Windows should automatically restore all files, but does not restore the wups2.dll file in my case)  (maybe to stop the BITS service before you can delete the files.)

and after the reinstatement of wups2, everything worked normally.

Looks like some maleware attack those keys / files

the registry keys I've seen actually called maleware the wuauserv service files.  so when I cleaned the computer he deleted these files and thus broke the wuauserv service, until I put the service back to normal.

    Hello

As you are not facing problems after disabling System Services then the problem is caused by one of the system services.

Try to use the same strategy of clean boot by activating the system of services one by one and then tries to start and check to see which system service is causing the problem.

Please post back with the results so that we can better help you.

  • Adding RAM on S6300NX, keeps restarting. Windows XP SP3 Upgrade Utility driver update fails

I have a Compaq Presario S6300NX works on XP Home and has the AMD Athlon XP processor.  The vehicle currently has a 512 MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM Memory Module installed.  I bought a 512 MB 333 MHZ DDR PC2700 184 pin Dimm 2.5V module install alongside the original.  I did my best to check that it is compatible through the HP site but it was purchased by an outside vendor.

The new module fits perfectly into its housing.  However when I turn the computer back on, it will just through this continuous reboot.  He could do it on the desk, but within seconds, it restarts.  Once, I got a message saying 'ended unexpectedly DCOM Server process Launcher service '.  I took the new module back out and rebooted - the computer then worked fine.  He told me that the system has recovered from a fatal (x 4) error.  But work just fine without the memory upgrade module.  Tried to reinstall, maybe user error (?), but once again, the system went into a continuous reboot cycle.

I googled the message an error I copied (on the DCOM model) and found here in the support area and HP drivers, there was an updated driver that I could do that specifically mentioned my error message "Microsoft Windows® XP SP3 upgrade utility for systems equipped with AMD processors.  I followed the instructions and downloaded the file to my desktop.  I then tried to launch the installation of many times each time to get the same error message after extraction of the files and the yes button to install.  "Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.  The update was cancelled (9998)"

These are the prereqs in the instructions: "you must be logged in as an administrator to install this update.

I went to Best Buy and bought a new module of memory.  Accompanies the PNY optima.  Worked perfectly.  After all that.  So I guess that it was probably a bad memory stick.  Thanks to all who helped!  Problem solved!

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    CCleaner (free!)

(just disk cleanup - do not play with the part of the registry for the moment)
