Windows Update prevents error 0x8024402c search
I just installed a new WD 320 GB hard drive in a Samsung R530 laptop and then installed Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1 (64-bit) then I did the following:
-Installed Microsoft Security Essentials - updates ran and scanned system (no problem)
- Windows updates on the road and let it go. It only show "search for updates" for more than 20 hours with no result.
-Manually installed Internet Explorer 11 (tried again but still the same problem)
-Ran SFC/scannow (no problems found, then tried but still same problem)
-Ran CCleaner (no problems found, then tried but still same problem)
-Updated Intel drivers (but still, no error can not get updates)
-Ran Microsoft Security Scan (no problems found, then tried but still same problem)
-Ran The Diagnostics of Windows Update - found the following results:
Windows Update, error 0x8024402C (2016-04-17-T-10_18_54A) "Not fixed".
Report shows;

I've practically exhausted all the solutions I could find online. Anyone know how to fix this? What Miss me? Thank you!
- Start and end the re - install Windows 7 SP1
- Before that the newly installed system can go online for the first time, Disconnect the computer from the Internet. This chronology is essential.
- Install KB3083710 and reboot manually.
- Install KB3102810 and reboot manually.
- Restore the Internet connection, and run Windows Update as usual.
- After a few minutes, you should have a lot of updates to download and install.
FINALLY! I have been in charge of research and looking at this problem for a week or so, try a bunch of different things. Council finally did the trick. Still have no idea why it is, but the huge batch of updates are finally loaded.
Thank you very much!!

Windows Update 8007371c error code
I get the above error code that I read the post on reboot with the CD of windows vista
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/e8393dfc-56ee-4948-8244-cfdc20350e7bThis looks like a lot of work to install a simple update.
My computer did not come with the CD of windows vista. It is a HP Pavilion 9340f. I did a diagnostic CD hardware bootable, but also recovery disks. Vista would be on these?
It's maybe just time to upgrade to windows 7?

At this point given that you did most of the troubleshooting steps, the only other troubleshooting procedures that can help is to perform a CheckSUR to check there is no package system who are damaged. If you are still not able to solve this problem, then you might need to perform an upgrade on the spot to help solve all the corruption of the system that gets missed.

If Windows Update error 80072f8f during updates, date and time on your computer may not be identical to the date and time for the service online from Windows Update. Your computer and the service have no need to have an identical date and time, but if they vary too much it will prevent you from checking for updates.
To change the date and time of your computerOpen the Date and time by clicking on the button start , by clicking on Control Panel, click clock, language, and region, and then clicking on the Date and time.
On the Date and time tab, make sure that the date and time of your computer are correct. If they are not, click the change date and time. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the Date and time dialog box, follow these steps:
To change the date, under Date, click the left or right arrows to find the current month in the calendar, and then click the current date.
To change the time, under the terms of the time, double-click the hour, minutes, or seconds that you want to change, and then click the arrows to increase or decrease the value.
When you have finished editing the time settings, click OK.

Help................
Hello
If you receive the Windows Update 8024401 b error when searching for or installing updates, a problem prevented your proxy server to your network credentials. A proxy server is a server used by your computer to connect to the Internet or a network and, in this case, to download updates. Follow these steps to provide your credentials and install available updates.
a. open Windows Update by clicking on the button start. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
(b) in the left pane, click Find updates.
c. If you are prompted, provide your network credentials. If Windows does not prompt you to provide credentials and you see the 8024401 b instead of this error code, click on try again.
d. When you are prompted, provide the credentials that you use to access your network (for example, your user name and a password). Windows continue to update automatically and notify you if you need to install updates.
