  • Windows Update continues to re - install the udates even ever - Vista

How can I fix the problem please?

I found this on another thread and asked how to get rid of the icon and this is the response I got:

At least in Win 7 just go to control panel / Windows Update / select the updates to install

Then deselection (clear the check box), and THEN right click on the line and select "hide update".

You must do this line by line - if you make a multiple selection you do not get the prompt to hide the update.

I have Vista, but it worked this way too.

  • Windows Update

Windows 7 update updates will not download the shield remains red the parameter show ever and I can't change them

    pk72

I continue to support a bunch of PC Win7, which some have been restored from Win10 because the owners didn't like Win10.

But, I have noticed that recently, Windows Update has been performing really slowly on ALL these machines.

The symptoms are that she seeks the HOURS - and does not seem to progress!

OR... he find stuff, but then gets to download for HOURS... and does not seem to make any progress.

In any case, look for a folder Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads\.  This is where the updates Windows stores the updates, it downloads and its working files.  If there is, Windows Update works - even if you see no progress.  Over time, the file will grow until all updates have been downloaded.  Then, it will shrink as the updates are applied.  Once completed, Windows should remove it. If it is not the case, you can delete the contents of this folder, but do not delete the folder itself.

And Yes... updates take hours (or days!) when they used to take a few minutes.

So basically, there is nothing wrong with your PC.

And - if RESET you it, you're only going to worsen because who will begin the process of updating from scratch, and the last time I did it, it took three days complete (!) to find, download and apply all updates.

NOTE: If the wait does not work, then try to run this repair utility: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/windowsupdatefixer.html

  • Satellite A200-10W: I lost dual-mode Touchpad after Windows update

I got a satellite A200-10W. The touchpad worked well at the beginning. Then, an update of windows has been installed and I lost dual mode on my touchpad.

It is for me a normal function as a touchpad, but the mode button does not work. It lights, it do give me the button options, volume control does not work it did not scroll even in normal mode either.
I reinstalled the drivers both synaptics and alps, but nothing helped.

How can I ever use dual-mode again?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

Very strange I didn't noticed any problem with the touchpad after the windows update.
I have updated my windows and then lost the sound. After restarting again I ran the update and the Øresund back

But if you, it seems that the MS updates could be a bad influence on the functions of touchpad.

Have you chosen the touchpad drivers just for the PSAECE series?
The Synaptics Touch Pad driver to set the properties and the touch pad control functions.
And the Alps Electric Touch Pad Driver allows you to set the properties and functions of mouse control.

Perhaps you need to configure the settings again after the new installation of drivers touchpad?  :|

But have you tried to update to Windows Vista again? Sometimes, you have to restart the laptop to get all the necessary updates that will fix the problems.

In a value of the case, recover the laptop and does not perform the updates of windows

  • 'Check' updates from Windows Update is stuck after that I have reset my laptop

I refreshed and reset my laptop but it will always get stuck 'Check updates' and everything works so slow... than ever before.
Is this a problem with my hard drive?

    OloberSaiko

Sorry, but your reset laptop reset Windows Update.

I recently had to do this in one of my PC and it took three days complete (!) for the Windows Update process finish.  One day find updates, one day to download and one day to apply.

To add to the frustration, during downloads, progress 'freeze' to zero percent!

So, I had it got stuck - but she didn't - and this is important!  Go to C:\Windows\Distribution.  If there are files and folders, Windows Update works, it is simply not updated status information.

You can check that from time to time, and while its download yet, he will continue to grow.  As long as there are files and folders there DO NOT shut down your PC!  This will force again when you reboot.

Sorry... but you just have to leave it on and it will run its course.

    Good luck

  • How to delete Windows Update backup files

In Windows XP Pro, whenever an update from windows update has been installed, a backup file was created (example: C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB977816$) is it a similar backup with windows file 7 about the update of windows, and if so, can it be deleted once it is established that the MS security update is successful?  Thank you, Sam.

    http://taurarian.MVPs.org/WU_XP/removing_old_windows_updates.htm

Folders that have uninstall as part of the name (for example $NtUninstallKB282010$ who reside in C:\windows (hidden files) are window Hot difficulty updating folders/files) can be removed safely (providing ever, you wish to uninstall the updates). I recommend you leave these records for a period of at least one month to make sure that the update works correctly.

These updates can be removed individually or together. To learn more about the update/s go on:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/xxxxxx
NB: XXXXXX = the actual number, not to mention the "Q" or "Ko."

Once you have removed the uninstall folders/files, then go to control panel, add/remove programs. Select the title of the corresponding Windows fix on the folder/file of the patch you just deleted, and select Delete. You will get a Windows error. This is because you deleted the uninstall folder/files. Simply choose OK and the entry will be removed from the Add/Remove Programs list.

  • Windows Update does not seem to work

I got my laptop in June and he made lots of updates from windows, but I was not able to do updates from windows. The settings are on so that it checks for updates every day, install everything she itself, but when I press on check updates, it indicates that updates and it stays like that for hours.

Last updates ever State control, updates have been installed30/06/2010. My computer is DELL studio XPS. Quatro, windows 7 64 x

It also seems that you can't find automatic updates for newly installed USB things. Could not obtain automatic installation for my printer and could get no automatic update for a mouse, so I had to cancel the update to use.

Please let me know, my guess is maybe firewall, but do not know how to get around that...

    Hi all

In the updates of Windows, I got an important update for ATI Technologies,
