Windows updates generate unwanted Office 2007 update queries

When I bought my new Acer laptop, it came with a trial version of Office 2007 is installed.

I deleted it and installed my suite Office 2003.
However Windows update requires updates to Office 2007. I know I can hide them, but do I need? If this is not the case, how can I stop the applications?
Is there a remnant of Office 2007 somewhere on my system or in the registry that is causing requests.
Thank you.

Thank you. Very useful. I have service pack SP2 compatibility.

  • Re-install Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 to keep

I have an Alienware m15x, I bought from Dell in 2009. I customized my order when I bought, so it came with Microsoft Office pre-installed. The summer is slow and I got diverted by some viruses adware because of my carelessness, so rather than understand how if RID and clean my system, I decided to start again and re - install Windows 7. Is saved in my restore partition so if I restore, office will be re-installed too?

Your Microsoft Office 2007 will not be saved on the original image. You should have received an identity card of Microsoft product with your system that contains your 25-digit product key. You can use this to download an installer for the product activation and Microsoft. For more information including the download link, see my Download Microsoft Officewiki.

If you do not have your MPI card, then run Belarc Advisor on your old installation. This utility will show you your Microsoft Office 2007 product key.

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  For this problem, you will need to contact the PC manufacturer.  If they do not restore disk there probably a restore hard disk partition.  If that's the case then you should be able to access at startup to restore your system if not factory (this will erase all data on the disc normally).  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE IT! BOTH PRODUCTS ARE TRIALS AND I HAVE TIME WE THEM UNTIL JANUARY 2010 TO JANUARY 31, 2010 OFFICE AND WINDOWS, I HAVE 57 DAYS MORE IN THE FUTURE! PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER!

    Hi Mihai,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

As you use the trial version of Windows 7 this could still be a problem, you can perform the below given steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

Download and run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool. After downloading this tool, it runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the system update readiness tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 947821 Description of the system update tool for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

In article 947821, scroll down to the "Microsoft Download Center" section, and then click the link to download the update for your operating system preparation tool.

    Step 2:

You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

You can also try to download updates manually and install one by one.

    Hope this information is useful.

Get the error, 'if please close MS Word and try again".
Well, it is definitely closed, and I also tried a reboot, just to eliminate any persistent process.

So, basically, this Windows 7 should install work?
Do not see named on the list of certifications, but all other facilities in 32-bit Vista I tried successfully.

    Any thoughts?

Before you start BEEP Desktop installation, you must close all the
MS Office Applications (MS Word, MS Outlook, etc.) and the Internet
    Explorer too.
After installation run Word 7 and go to-> Add - In
    -> Oracle BI Publisher.
