Windows Update - Windows error code may not search for updates - 80080005
My HD crashed and had to get a new one. When I got my laptop, 2 weeks ago I was told because I have a new HD, my laptop has been restored to factory settings.
Ever since I have EDT decided to back up my laptop, I get an error message from my windows update.
For this reason many of my programs do not work as usual. For my internet browser, for example, if I have to use the ActivX Control to upload a file it refreshes just the screen.

My TI guy told me to do the following...
go to my computer, and then click Properties. Then go in the name of the computer from a network to a working group. I entered the name of my working group. Then it tells me to restart so I did.
Now when I try to get into windows that connect, when I enter the username and password he tells me to check and make sure that they are correct and check the field. It does give me an option to choose a domain.
It's husband's computer and I need to run quickly. Any help would be appreciated.

When you remove a computer from a domain, and put in a workgroup, you must ensure that you have a local user account with administrative privileges created on the machine before removing the domain. Maybe the built-in Administrator account will work, but in most domain environments, the default password [White] is replaced by a different password. Microsoft has an article that deals with this:
"You can not connect after you remove the computer from the domain.

If you are a novice user and you can not access the built-in Administrator account, then your best bet to get must return to the domain and have your guys IT re - join to the domain. Note that you normally will not have to remove a computer from a domain to make it work in a home-networking environment (working group). You should be able to connect using the credentials cached [field] and your home network must always be visible to you.

When you search for available updates on the update site, I get error 0 x 80248011. Whenever this happens, I go through the inconvenience to repair and it is fixed for just a short time. Then when I least expect, it happens again. What's worse, is that if I need to install anything, the windows installer will work either. I'm going to click on anything, whether to start the download. Once finished, the following window opens asking if I want to install, and I say Yes. The window flashes real quick and then nothing happens. So now I get this error when I click on the express button in windows update and I can't install anything. It becomes very frustrating.
I tried all the suggested solutions... Remove temporary files, etc. I have stopped automatic updates so I could rename the software distribution. I have one with an old dot and dot old1, old2 dot. Would it not prudent to delete one of them? I need to find a solution that will fix it.
I also tried to use the FIX IT guy and I got an error message saying that something was wrong with my Installer.

I should mention that Windows 7 Search is not case sensitive, so it makes no difference to try to find upper or lower case letters. In addition, Windows 7 Search is not able to search the contents of files that have no file extension. There is also a weird question having to watch in Indexing Options to determine which file extensions are defined for content, research, where you have a type of unusual file that is not defined for the content of the search.

In Windows Explorer, how can I search for filenames containing a tilde? I tried the name: ~, but this seems to find all the files. Problem with the search for network path
We have experienced a weird problem recently with our research. On a Windows 7 Machine, when you search for a file that is located on our file server, it will give you the files, but for ancient dates and not the most recent. In our case, when we find a file, I see the file is there but I do the search in the folder and it gives me no element matches your search if they have changed the 7/17 and later. Something before 7/17 is always available.
I tried indexing, but I know that this will not work because it is a network location. Maybe is something that is wrong on the side of servers? This is a server of 2012. We have about 10 users affected by it, so the solution to the index of the network as a library location may not be enough and may just take us longer.
Any ideas on if it's the workstation or the server? If so, what can be done to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Windows Update stuck forever looking for updates. Win7 Ultimate x 64 SP1
General information
I had a system that works with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It is a platform for development and simulation that encrypted weeks of configuration and installs operational mode. It was installed in 2012 after my old motherboard has been damaged (I had to get a new license... not just).
I opted for Windows 10 months ago, but because I wasn't ready I postponed. All of a sudden he just kept tenacious and like a child (not the friendliest approach Microsoft!).
Last week he suddenly put a gun to my head and me has everything just no other choice to postpone, just install. Fortunately, I had done a backup of the Image of the previous day, so with the gun to my head I let him go ahead with the 10 of Windows 'upgrade '.
Upgrade Windows 10 seemed to go wrong to 83% or more with a screen saying she was hurt that she would try again turned. If she did, and this time he APPEARED to go. Then I got to the Windows 10 for final configuration.
After the restart the development & simulation PC was totally unusable! It wouldn't start Windows 10 or it could repair itself.
In view of the "wonderful" experience I really felt not restoring the Image that would be to reformat my OS drive was something I could give my vote of confidence.
Then... I went out a bought a new hard drive and monitor and installed my trust Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 SP1 on it with the intention of NEVER try to 'upgrade' to Windows 10, as it was more "trouble free" than "free upgrade".

The problem is when I go to Windows Update, it shows me 16 updates installed, but it ALWAYS gets stuck on "check updates" with "more recent audit of updates: never'and'updates have been installed: never'and'you receive updates: for Windows and other products from Microsoft Update". ""
It is configured to automatic updates, but all other settings give the same problem, no updates are installing more than 16 who are already there:

So, how can I get Windows Update to work again? I lost about 4 days of work thanks to this "upgrade".
For what I was able to see the update of Windows is the latest version of wuauserv.dll. It is an important part of WindowsUpdate.log of today. Note, however, that initially I had intentionally disconnected the network cable, reinstated later, but the problem persists. Note also there are several DatStor warnings about adding a URL that does not. :

Searching for installed Windows updates
I quickly to query for updates to Windows that have already been installed. I use the Windows Update Agent API to do this, but it takes entirely too long to run. The query I use within the theIUpdateSearcher.Search (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa386526 (v = vs. 85) .aspx method) is as follows:
"IsInstalled = 1 and IsHidden = 0".
This request takes between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. It's too long for my application. I was not able to find any useful information as to how I can speed or another alternative.
I noticed that "Control Panel-> programs-> programs and features-> installed updates" is able to get a list of all the updates that are installed in a few seconds. This was done on 64 bit Windows 7 SP1.
Finally, is there a way I can speed IUpdateSearcher.Search for a list of the installed update? If not, do you know how Microsoft Gets the list of the installed update in "Control Panel-> programs-> programs and features-> installed updates"?
In addition, the code I use to run my query will find at (I'm doing only part of research then stop at about line 22):
