Windows validation

Hello

I have a registered version of windows xp professional. I fixed my computer, it has been stripped, cleaned and assembled. When I turned it on, it says windows is not valid. It is the first time since I registered what it gives me this message. what I'm doing. It's embarrassing. Windows automatically updates every month without fail every month for several years. What should I do

Try turning on the phone, have your product key from the COA sticker handy before calling.

    Thank you

    Dorothy salvation,

There is a very good chance that you are infected with something, and we need to deal with this.

First of all, update and run a full scan with any security software you use and delete everything it finds.  See if that helps.

Then, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).

Please follow these recommendations of JimR1 - MVP compliments:

You are running Microsoft Security Essentials?

If Yes: start here - https://support.microsoftsecurityessentials.com/ and select the link that says - I think my computer is infected - and support and select the option for phone, chat or email (options vary depending on the region)

Whether you are or not, if you are in North America, you can call 866-727-2338 for a free Microsoft Help for infections of virus and spyware.

SE not in North America or not using MSE:

You can start here: https://consumersecuritysupport.Microsoft.com/ or here: http://support.Microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_virsec_master?WS=support#TAB0 for the help and support for malware infections.

If this does not work, or that they can't help, try one of the compliments of forums-remove malware following PA Bear - MVP:

I can recommend the assistance of experts available in these forums: http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?Board=10.0 http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5 http://www.dslreports.com/Forum/Cleanup http://www.Bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.php and http://Aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30

I hope this helps.  When the system is clean, you can have damage to be repaired to restore some files from the system (or reset) - and there may be more damage but we have the system clean before we can deal with that, or he'll just continue to occur.  Remove the infections might also solve problems as well (if we're lucky) or experts offering you assistance may be able to help with that as well.

    Good luck!

What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Defender, ZoneAlarm,.
    PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
I don't think you have a problem of Windows XP.
The avgsstx.dll file appears to be outside the AVG resident shield starter, so if you have AVG, it seems that you may need to update, uninstall it, reboot, and reinstall, etc to see if you can straighten.  I would like to reinstall everything from scratch.
If you want to stay with AVG and go put it back, you can install differently from the way it comes out of the box.  The AVG free installs a few things that are not essential to your protection and will slow your system down a bit.  I would have preferred my CPU and RAM go to other places that some places want AVG.  Of course, it's you, what items you want to install for your type of environment.
In general, I would recommend this when AVG starts to misbehave:
Use Add/Rmove programs to uninstall AVG and reboot.
Download the latest AVG and reinstall.
When you install AVG, do not let it install 'everything' with components by default (unless you want a performance problem to solve problems later).
This time, select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (i.e., uncheck) Linkscanner Search-Shield, Active Surf-Shield, toolbar security or enamel of crawl components.
When you install AVG, select the CUSTOM installation option and do NOT install (uncheck):
    LinkScanner
    Search-Shield
    Active Surf-Shield,
Security or the email of crawl components toolbar
You can read about these components AVG first to see if you think you really need in your environment or not.
For example, this is why you don't need to install the crawl components email:
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm
Then, when you have done so, I would follow with this:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

I am trying to install an update on Windows Update failure... the update in question is KB955430... I went to the site Microsoft Web to download this update... I have searched the site for the software updates but kept getting the same program not supported. Is there an updated version that I can download? I've tried this in FireFox and IE... I used Firefox as my default but briefly changed the default values for trying to install this program. the web page in question is:

256 bit is the encryption level - not the bitlength executable.

Since you are using 32-bit Windows, you really have no other option than to use the 32-bit version of what either (including IE)

Using IE, go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=21393 and click on the button continue - what happens EXACTLY?
