  • still holding the Windows validation

    Hello I bought a copy of Windows 7 ultimate retail version in December.  I had it installed and used it very well.  Today, I wiped my machine for resettlement.  I have entered my product key, but it tells me that this copy of windows is not genuine.

    So I installed the windows validation http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ activex control and allowed him to start the validation process.   It has been sitting there spinning it are how to wheel little green for an hour.

    What can I do to prove that my copy of Windows is genuine?

    Try to activate Windows 7 by phone
    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    (2) press the ENTER"" key.
    (3) select your "country" in the list.
    (4) choose the option "activate phone".
    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
    (7) the person must give you a confirmation ID, copy it down on paper,
    (8) check that the ID is correct in reading the support person.
    (9) to enter the ID number, then click 'Next' to complete the activation process.

  • Windows 7 Professional keeps asking to install the validation tool when trying to install Virtual PC and Xp mode.

    Original post: loop Validation

    I just tried to download XP Mode & Virtual PC for my UK professional-Windows 7 64 bit, but then he asked for a tool of validation.

    I downloaded it, it installed itself, and then the page asked me to upload it again, only then let me know that I had already. This happened several times in a row.

    So.

    Is it possible to download a version of 'master' of the ruined, validation tool so that I will not be asked to download the files of more than 155-Ko?

    I had the same problem.  I found myself in the software section authentic Microsoft on the Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx?displaylang=en

    Click the validate Windows on the left side of the page.  Return to the XP Mode/Virtual PC and it should allow you to validate now.  Worked for me anyway.

  • Why am I asked to install the updates for xp in my vista machine?

    At the risk of sounding really stupid... I dare ask this question: Why am I being asked to install the xp updates in my vista machine?  Updates are automatically presented, and the installation failed... After reviewing the updates that failed to install I noticed that they were all updates of security for XP and not vista.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Dutchie16,

    Please contact the Forum of Microsoft Vista.

    I read the question and by doing some research on this subject I think the update that you mentioned (kb 917150) and not (17150 kb).

    I see that the update (kb 917150) is an update of security for office XP. This is an update to the office application and not for the operating system. We need to check two things:

    1 > we do not have Microsoft office Xp installed in the system.

    2 > we did an update from XP to Vista.

    If 1 is true then please download the stand-alone office Xp update pack and install it. If the 2nd case is true then let me know because we have a different approach to solve the problem.

    The link for the standalone pack for office Xp:

    Please do not respond and so I can help again the resolution does not help.

  • Windows will work not day after I installed the windows updates.

    The next day, I installed the Windows updates, I turned on my laptop a short Vaio splash screen is displayed and a black screen comes up saying that "Windows couldn't start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "I don't have the installation disc of Windows that it suggests to use the software is preinstalled.  The safe mode and last known good configuration and the start windows normally get Windows running.  It is simply scrolls a list of code and ends with a line crcdisk.sys, goes to a blue screen for less than a second, then goes to black screen.  All the help I could get to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    If Safe Mode doesn't work no and you don't have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a startup repair or a system restore:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/Perl/select-System.pl?PRODTYPE=1, 24,26,66,9,70,5,72

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    See you soon.
  • Installed the latest important updates this morning; upon restart, the computer didn't work as expected. now behaves as if the motherboard is dead.
    This morning at appx. 1:30 AM PST, I installed the latest important updates from the Windows Update Manager on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop. I did manually, by a double click on the little icon in the toolbar and clicking on the button install. Once the update had completed, I clicked on the "restart later" button and close my computer using the Shut Down command - the usual symbol "click here to close and complete the installation" didn't appear. I thought it was a little weird, but chalked it up to the fact that I had taken the lead and made the installation.
    About an hour and a half later, after being able to get to sleep, I decided that I would try to do a job. I pressed the power button and my computer started well upward, giving me the ' now install, update (1/3) [percentage] completed. Do not turn off your computer. "message. Which is quite normal, let him do his thing without turning it off.
    The update is completed and I am greeted by my office. Displays the logon to Gmail Notifier window, and that's when my problems began: I tried to move the arrow to disappear, and the arrow has not moved. The circle of "transformation" had, next to the arrow, so I thought it must be a minor hiccup. I've waited, waited and waited... But even after all of my normal startup programs loaded, my mouse has failed.
    Pressing the Windows key to open the menu start does not work, either; It was as if everything had been disconnected. After waiting a few minutes, I decide that maybe I just need to restart and, given that my keyboard was not working, I pressed and held the power button until the system off (I know, I know, it's a horrible thing to do).
    I waited a minute, and then you press the power button. The lights came on, the fan spun, but the screen remains black as if I did nothing. I waited, because my computer arrived in the past tried to give me an attack of apoplexy by hanging several screens, but... nothing. The fan spun, the light shone their beautiful blue, but that's all.
    The only thing I have changed or done differently was the updates, I have not dropped my computer; I've not spilled something on or in I have a Targus chill mat that I use religiously. I download attachments from people I don't know no/trust (I can't, my antivirus program deletes attachments in emails from spam); I use Firefox with NoScript and anti-ad; My AV/Antispyware/malware program is always up to date and six types of awesome and more.
    My system is Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavilion dv6000. I have an AMD Turion 64 x 2 processor and a Nvidia mobile graphics card (I don't remember exactly who he is; I can't the specs). I don't have a DVD of restoration, for reasons that did not need explores right now. I had my phone on... Two years, I think. I'll have to double check.
    I can't start in safe mode, because I get nothing - no POST, no beeps, without bumps. The CD/DVD drive makes some noises, as he is looking for a drive (there isn't one in the drive), and that's it.
    I think I have to take someone and make them open and see what's the problem, but I appreciate any thoughts/ideas/opinions/assistance that anyone can give. Thank you for your time and attention.
    Alas, no, the screen seems to be fine. He had not been acting funny before that, in any case. I checked out, and the external monitor just went to sleep because there is no signal.
    Thanks for taking a peek anyway. I guess it's a workshop for me and my laptop.
    Consult the manual (paper or electronic version on your computer). You can have a hidden partition. You could also have a way to make a copy of new installation media. Otherwise contact Fujitsu.
  • Where should I install the Boot Camp updates: Windows or Mac?
    With the help of Boot Camp, I have installed Windows 10 when my OS from Apple was Yosemite. Recently, I upgraded the operating system Apple to El Capitan. Today, while working on the side of Windows 10 things, I got a notice of pop-up that I should install the update for Boot Camp. So I have two questions actually:
    • (1) was not the latest version of Boot Camp included in the update of El Capitan? and,
    • (2) should I download it then install the Boot Camp update, when I run Windows 10 or when I'm on the side of Mac?
    1 n ° with the exception of the Boot Camp Assistant, all components of Boot Camp are Windows software and does not part of Mac OS X.
    2. do Windows.
  • Error code 646 when installing the automatic/important updates for Windows Vista (with Service Pack 2)
    Recently, I received 646 error code when you try to install the important/automatic updates to Windows Vista. What patches are there for this issue? What risks are there to do not overcome this problem?
    rivercitylady,
    Usually with the code 646 error, if you download the update and install it manually that will fix the problem.
    Go to the Microsoft Download Center and search for the number of the update has failed.  Download on your PC, then run it from there. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
