Windows Vista 32-bit for Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit to run CS4 Premiere Pro

Hello, I need some advice on whether to upgrade my computer or not!  I'm currently under CS4 Premiere Pro (version 4.2.1) with HD 1080 images. My computer is a HP d4999z Image maker (Pavilion) using Vista 32 - bit OS. It has a processor AMD 9600 Quad-core 2.3 GHz (phenom ADM 64 Nvidia), Ram is 4 GB, Windows Vista Home Prem (service pak2), a Nvidia GEForce 8800GT, creative SB-x-Fi, 3 internal HD and 2 HD external.

I use CS4 PremPro for my HD video editing. I am a serious amateur and not a professional. HP said I can move to Windows 7 Ultimate on my current computer and the GB of ram from 4 GB to 8 GB and 8 GB is the maximum. So my question is... will be an upgrade like this (wind 7/64 and more RAM), give me treatment significantly more quickly or better? Ultimate Windows 7/64, and a more stable platform on which to run CS4?

Finally, I'll go to CS5; but not on this computer.  Probably at the end of the year next to the new computer.

Thanks for any advice.  Jean

Jean,

I would not invest in this configuration more. Keep it for your next system. Invest in an additional memory of HP will cost bundle, which can be thrown next year with a new PC, because you need then of different memory. For your next system, forget AMD. Intel is suitable for mounting. Your current system is 20 to 30 times slower that a good machine Intel.

  • Problems printing L7590 (Vista 64-bit); works perfectly on XP Pro SP3

    Hi all

New L7590 on Vista 64 bit on HP Pavilion A6720F has problems.  When I print a page to test simple (or something else), she prints about half the page and prints then completed three pages, each with one or two lines of strange characters at the top (small faces, @ signs, hearts, call you).  Meanwhile, the computer makes that sound that you hear when you connect a new USB device about 4 to 7 times.  It also provides that the sound when you copy just a document, but it works.

I have attached the printer from the box of my XP Pro SP3 and it printed as a champion of CorelDraw and Adobe Acrobat Pro, in addition to a good one to test page printing.  None of these USB connection sounds were heard.

    ideas?

The problem is not with the printer!  It is with the Pavilion/Vista 64 operating system.  HP Pavilion support solves the problem.  HP OfficeJet does not know how to solve the problem.  Here is the address that they realized that me and once the drivers have loaded issue resolved.  http://www.NVIDIA.com/Object/nforce_vista64_15.24.html good luck.

  • What are the best settings for the export of the comps before edditing in Premiere Pro

    Hi all!

As the title says, who are the best settings to export compositions of EI on Pr.Pro and then edit them?

Let me explain: I have two comps in AE (intro and outro) and want to export in Pr.Pro for with a fottage edditing I shot.

When I give the size of the files are huge (30 sec = 7 GB).

Which is the best method (and settings) I can export the intro and outro to a 'normal' size of the file and then put them in Pr.Pro without losing quality?

    [Comp settings: HDTV 1080 29.97 (1920 x 1080)]

AE and Premiere Pro the two CS4

If you're having trouble to play things in your Premiere Pro timeline, then find out editing in offline mode. In the edition offline, you work with a version of lower quality of an asset when editing and then replace with a version high quality when you are ready for the release.

  • Best Configuration for running adobe Premiere Pro CS3

I have a 4 HARD disk system and the ability to run RAID.  What is the best configuration to run Adobe first pro CS3.  I want to be able to get the best performance out of my system.

I wouldn't do 1 or 2 even if it is possible.

3 won't be necessary if you use uncompressed images.  With any standard camera format, a single modern drive will be more quickly, even for multiple streams of data.

Work terribly hard to get a RAID 0 array there somewhere, but man, it is really not necessary in most cases and may even be a bad idea for a good number of cases.

  • Upgrade of Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate

Can I switch from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit?

    Upgrade paths:
When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition
Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

Also run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:

This will check your system for compatibility issues before making the upgrade so that you can resolve.

  • Vista 32-bit, I use the cloud?

    Hello

I understand most of the products now CS6 is for 64 bit systems.  I have download DW CS6 trial and it works very well on my system - no problem.

However, I need Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, edge to run on Vista 32-bit.  I have no immediate plans to upgrade computers until next year well win 8 or released.

In the meantime, I will have access to the 32-bit versions (CS5 or CS5.5) on the cloud?

    Thank you

    Nancy O.

    .

Here is a page with the technical details of SC 6: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection/tech-specs.html.

only 64-bit applications are of Premiere Pro, After Effects and more. (Again, part of the installation of Premiere Pro and doesn't have a link to download/trial).

In addition, overview of edge does not run on Windows XP (same XP 64) or Mac OS 10.5.

In these cases, the option to download/trial does not appear on the page of Services & Apps http://creative.adobe.com/apps

  • Vista 64-bit - 32-bit downgrade

I have my software work that they won't change for Vista 64-bit, only running Vista 32 bit, my laptop is practically useless, how can I downgrade from Vista 32 bit to run this program?  What are the negative implications of decommissioning?

You will need to buy a COMPLETE Vista 32 bit Operating System Disk/license and do a clean install of it.

Save all data that the HD will be wiped clean during installation.

There is NOT a downgrade; It's a completely different operating system.

  • Premiere Pro - out Bit Max depth

I export from time to time of FADS that have capacities of 12 bits, and I do it through intermediaries that I tend to export through first and Media Encoder. I found this article online on the export capabilities of first and it is said that the first can export up to 10-bit max.

How to handle the Bit depth in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Speedgrade | wolfcrow

The article is less than 2 years and I wonder if this changed? For example both Gopro Cineform and Prores 4444 have the ability to export 12 - bit, but if the first fact that 10, I get a true 12-bit export?

    Thank you

    Hi Eric,.

Plug-in rendering pipeline architecture and Premiere Pro has long supported the 32-bpc export (from Premiere Pro 2.0 in 2006), but it is the format/codec (and it is implemented by a plugin correspondent) what bit depths are supported in practice.

From first Pro CC 2015.1 (9.1), the OpenEXR plugin is now included for export 32-bit or 16-bit float.  Here is the guide of the user for that:

    http://www.fnordware.com/ProEXR/ProEXR_Manual.PDF (see pages 28, 29)

Format JPEG 2000 MXF OP1a, added in 2015 CC, also supports the 12 bits.

  • Premiere Pro performance suddenly slowed to be almost unusable, even for simple projects

I'm running latest Premiere Pro update on a late 2013, 27 "iMac, with a processor 3,4 GHz Intel Core i5 with 8 GB of RAM, Mac osX version 10.9.5.  I know this isn't a lot of RAM, but until last week, or so I was able to amend a 4 K an hour with this configuration, as long as I ran the first session in resolution of 1/8.  He dropped some frames if I tried to play a long piece of it without stopping, but it is achievable for editing purposes.  But in the last days, the session has slowed to the point where he begins a picture of serious loss from the time I press play and is basically unusable.   He deposits also audio, and I can hear readers clicking frantically as soon as I touched the game.   My support is on 2-TB G - readers connected through USB3.

    What I've tried so far...

-Ran the diagnostic on readers and it found no errors.

-Tried to link the project the identical files on the backup drive.  The same problem.

-I made that energy saver settings of my Mac have been fixed so that readers will never sleep.

-J' deleted all media caches and the preview files of first that I could find.

-J' I reset the privacy settings of Spotlight so that they index not only some folders on the internal drive and external drives.

-J' made sure that I got to spend the maximum memory (6.5 GB) at first.

-Finally updated my software to the latest version first.

None of these things made the difference.

    - Then I thought that maybe the session came from is too big and bloated for my system to handle.   So I made a new project and import a simplified version of the only sequence that only refers to some of my files video color corrected.  This way I don't have to have an external drive connected and the session refers to much smaller files.  Still no improvement.

-So, I tried an experience where I made a whole new project and sequence.  I imported only 5 video files in it.  The biggest file less than 3 GB.  (I do Protools editing on this computer with files much larger than this, on the same type of readers extermal, without any problem at all.)  With only a single 5 video (and audio) in the timeline panel, it always starts up frames after about 2 seconds.  If I put another clip of 5 seconds in the timeline, the abandonment of the frame gets twice as bad.  If I try to put a video on them crossfade, playback becomes jerky that is very bad.

So basically, I started to be able to change a 60 minutes long 4K video project with video transitions, and multiple video and audio tracks.  (It was not perfect, but it is achievable).  And now all of a sudden, I can't play a whole new session which has 5 small video clips in there and not audio.    This isn't just my project or sequences that are the problem.  First just seems more to be able to access and read my media with any speed.

What Miss me?  Can you give me some additional suggestions to try that I have already mentioned above?  (And Yes, I know that many of you guys probably consider my hardware configuration completely insufficient for what I do, and you're probably right.)  But it did work pretty well for me up to this point.  I'm so close to the end of my project and I'm really just trying to get back to functionality, that I had a week ago, so I can finish).

I would like suggestions.  I feel like I'm running out of things to try.

After a lot of troubleshooting, it seems that the problem is related to the corrected version of the color of my video not being able to reproduce quite quickly.  While my system had no problem with the camera raw 4K files, the number of colors increased color corrected Pro Res versions are just too much for my readers to read in real time, even at low resolution.   Unless I want to do considerable ameioration (which I did not), the solution is to keep my color corrected without video corrected colors stacked on each other in the timeline and to turn off the video track containing the color corrected ones.  Of course, I can turn the color corrected piece when I need to check something with it, but for the playback feature when editing, I'm limited to files camera raw.

He is obviously an imperfect solution.  But because I'm basically done editing and just need to do some title and a small cut, I can finish the project works this way.

By the way, technical support suggested major improvements to my memory and video cards.  But if I were to try to resolve this further, I would upgrade to a better system RAID before I would make additional upgrades on my mac.  It feels really more likely it is the main issue here.
