    Buna,

    If my memory serves me correctly the free manufacturers update to Windows 7 offer was finalized in January 2010 and it only applies to Vista purchased between July 2009 and then.

    Satellite A300D - 14 p Windows Vista OTB for Windows XP?
    Is it possible to install Windows XP on the satellite with no complications (bad drivers and other things). I hate Vista!
    I heard that some laptops require modding some files .ini to install Xp on vista.

    If you want to install Win XP on this laptop and want to use this OS instead of vista, then you should check out some threads here in the forum.

    There are several discussions on the installation of Win XP.

    Just a comment:
    The Satellite A300D - 14 p belongs to the series of PSAK8E and all the XP drivers are on the European driver Toshiba page.

  • I have a HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium, and the D: drive is full.

    I have a HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium, and the D: drive is full. I don't understand how he got that way... but... I've never used windows to the top, however I do back up with my Norton Security.  I'm not a COMPUTER guru AT ALL and am very confused as to what must be saved for me to do a system restore.  I just made a backup on a 16 GB usb flash drive, which included photos, documents, email, contacts and music.  But what of my registry or my drivers I've updated on the latest updates of 2 years and windows?

    So in plain English for the layperson to the computer, lol, can someone tell me...

    1. where should I back up to? (windows, norton?)

    2. what should I back up? EXACTLY, please. lol (I have hundreds of games, I don't want to back to the top if possible)

    3 and... HOW MUCH ALCOHOL SHOULD I HAVE AVAILABLE WHILE TRYING THIS. LOL just kidding. Laughing out loud

    Hello

    Updates must be installed in a certain order and no Service Pack must be installed unless and until it is offered through Windows Update.

    However, try these options:

    Step 1: You can not reuse what already automatically downloaded and installed. You can however save updates and install them manually if you wish.

    Step 2: You can create a system image on the computer. A system image is an exact copy of a disc. By default, a system image includes the drives required for Windows to run. In addition, it includes Windows and your system settings, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.

  • Windows Vista BSOD for years that I can't fix.

    Greetings,

    I have Windows Vista on my Gateway Gt5622. Every year or so I had to wipe the computer and re install Vista with drive manufacturer. The reason is that I get BSOD that I can't solve. It always seems to be something of a problem kernel or windows software. I have recently just re installed vista, everything seems to be ok. I spent a few days to install all updates and not a BSOD. He started happening after installing SP2. The only program I have is Norton 360 and 1 game called Tibia. I know that the problem is not one of those. I don't have any additional hardware installed either. Here's a copy of my BSOD file. If someone could help me please I would be very happy! Thank you for your time. Randy

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    can someone help me
    Thank you
    Hello Jon
    As you know Vista isn't officially lounched and I guess on site of manufacturers of portable driver is still not available.
    If you can identify what WLAN card is inside your support page for laptop check manufacturer. Usually, they offer such things as soon as a manufacturer of PC or laptop.
    Good luck!
  • Windows Vista Sidebar for XP
    Microsoft, as I know, Sidebar available on codename Windows 6.0 or higher, but why is Vista Sidebar available, not only for Windows 6.0 code name, but for XP? Thank U!
    Hello
    Microsoft provides the functionality of the Windows Sidebar in Windows Vista, this feature is not included in Windows XP.
    However, you can download tweaks of third party or programs that enable Windows Sidebar, which resembles the Windows Vista Sidebar in Windows XP.
    Note:
    Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
