  • After installing Ubuntu 11.04, Windows Vista has disappeared.

Original title: Windows vista is missing

After installing Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) my other OP system Windows vista has disappeared. I don't get a menu to choose which OP system I want to use. The grub menu 2 does not include an entry for windows. My computer directly boots into Ubuntu. I tried to put the installation disc in the status bar to try to recover the system but nothing works. Can someone help me please? Isetta cordially.

    Hi Isetta,

It seems that after installing Ubuntu, grub 2 took control of Boot Manager and changed the boot sequence. To change the startup entries to get Vista, you must contact Ubuntu for assistance on changing the grub boot entries 2.

How can I solve this problem?

    Hi Aarthishetty,

Run the DXDIAG in the start search bar. The result should tell you what the problem is. I guess that you will have to install the latest version of directX on your computer.

  • I get an error of binding of the program trying to reopen the Windows Vista Games.

    From: Brian

When you try to open a standard game installed, IE solitaire, chess, mahjong, I get the message error "file doesn't have a program that are associated with...". "" Under turn Windows features on and outside ', I have uninstalled/reinstalled and still the same error message.  Under default programs, I don't get the options for games.  I can run the games of "all programs" and create shortcuts on the desktop and they work, however, some of my family members are struggling to do it this way. "  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    From: Brian

Steve - very good suggestion.  You have to change the registry.  If you are not running an improved version of Vista, under Start, search, type regedit, and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile. Click Edit, new, string value and name IsShortcut. Name should have a red ab at the front and is of type REG_SZ.

If this is an upgrade version, it is difficult to tell the location of the folder. Click on modify, search for, and then type in NeverShowExt and this is where the entry IsShortcut must be created.

After installation, restart and the shortcut arrows should be back and the links in the Games folder should work.

  • Missing windows vista games

Miss me my Windows Vista Home Basic Edition games. Spider Solitaire, solitaire, Free Cell, hearts, etc...
    The files are completely missing...

Go to Control Panel > Classic view > programs and features > or turn off Windows features turn on and put a check mark in the games in a box to install the games.

If the box is already checked, uncheck uninstall games, and then install them. Boulder computer Maven

  • Do I need a driver for Windows Vista Games?

I have a Palm Zire 31 to hand (remote about 2 years).  Last week, I bought a HP Pavilion with system of Windows Vista 64-bit OS.  Yesterday, I bought a couple of games to download on my Zire 31, but have not had much luck comes from the new computer on the terminal.  Can I first of all updated for Windows Vista drivers?  (I still have the old XP Dell in the children's room, if all else fails!)  The games seem to download OK, but I'm having difficulty getting them to hot-sync on the Zire 31.  I forget something really obvious?  What I am doing wrong?  Shouldn't this download in the normal operation of the hot-sync?  Can you help me avoid a few gray hairs, more with an easy solution?  Thank you for teaching an old dog a few new tricks!

Palm does not sync for the 64 bit OS support. There is a bluetooth autour work, but as the zire 31 is not bluetooth it is a mote.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    Hello

Maybe it's that you have disabled the feature games of your system by mistake. Follow the steps mentioned below to activate it.

    To turn on Windows games

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programs, and then under programs and features, click Turn Windows features turn on or off.

    2. Select the Games check box, and then click OK.

There is a bonus game. Some games Windows, such as Chess Titans or Internet Checkers, is available only in some editions of Windows.

Why can't I install Windows XP Windows Vista Games? These systems are not retro-compatible? Please HELP Thank YOU

    Hello Randy Dickson,

Another option is to try to install the game incompatibility mode. To achieve this, you can right-click on the Setup file and choose Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and select Windows XP Service Pack 2 to see if the game will then install with these settings.

Let us know if this problem is solved by any of the information in this thread.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. My windows vista theme disappeared and reset my computer to the windows Classic view. I looked at all issues similar and no worked solutions. I can't click Restore system, command prompt, & also, my windows will not update.
