Windows Vista Home Premium update froze during the 'configuration' June 30, 2009.
Received notification of five updates to install on my computer Windows Vista Home Premium, one of them being Internet Explorer 8. All the downloaded slowly. Each of them appeared to install, but slowly and I left the computer while he was installing the 3rd update. When I came back it had evolved in the 'Configuration' screen (always see after there are updates and it restarts) and sat there for hours. It reads "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3, 0% complete. The percentage of nevers turns off 0%. I finally turned off the computer and when she started he said windows had not closed properly so I chose the Safe Mode option. He immediately went the same configuration screen. I left it again for 4 hours, but no change. What should I do?
The laptop is a HP tablet PC.
Here's how to uninstall the ones you don't want.
And how to change the settings of update and IE8 HIDE update!
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
> then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
> Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the bad.
> or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
See you soon.

Windows Vista Home Premium update problem step 3 of 3-100% complete
My Windows Vista Home Premium began the automatic update, reached the point of view "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3-100% complete.". Do not turn off your computer. »
Now he's just running for hours with this screen showing...
I can't say if this update will end finally alone, or if there is a problem and I should just reboot.
How long should I wait before abandoning me and shut down the computer?
Thank you.
Hi JIB1955,
Thank you for visiting the forums of answers.microsoft.com.
It's been a while, we can think that the update is stuck and will not continue any further. You can press Ctrl, Alt & Del and open Task Manager. You should see the update on the Application tab, and you can select it and press end task.Click on the start ORB > Control Panel > programs and features, on the left, select view installed updates and see if the update that was being Setup finished installing. If it does not have and does not appear on the list, you can restart your computer and try to install the update mode without failure.
To do this, restart your pc and even if your pc is booting press the key F8 on your keyboard to enter the Advanced Boot Options menu. On the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Safe Mode and press ENTER.Your computer will boot mode safe by using only the basic drivers and services, hopefully allowing Windows Update to complete the installation of the update, you are having problems with.

The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. Windows Vista (Home Premium) - updated this a blank page
Hello
I have 3 PC who exhibit the same problem. When I go to Windows Update, the window frame is displayed, but no information is displayed in it. The tank is completely empty and cannot be closed without ending the application in the Task Manager. To end the application in the Task Manager, the PC shows that expplorer of windows has stopped working and must be restarted.
Any help how to solve this problem would be appreciated as all machines must be updated to SP2.
I am also running ZoneAlarm Internet Security. Information about the recent updates that can cause this problem, if it is known would also be appreciated.
Thanks, Jeff
No ZA Internet Security is installed on all affected systems 3 and the issue occurred before it is installed?

I had the Tdss rootkit on my laptop and removed using TDSS Killer of Kasperky. After the reboot, I have connected and saw a box that displays "Please Wait". After 5 to 10 seconds, my computer restarts. After the reboot, it shows options for Windows Vista loading, i.e. the safe mode, safe mode with network. I chose the mode safe mode with networking and everything works fine. The system properties box opens automatically. When I try to boot into normal mode, he repeated restart after the connection. I tried to run a restore of the system into safe mode with networking, but it tells me something about the system restore is in mode offline. I hit a brick wall and don't know what to do next. I don't want to if I have more options to factory default restore.
The TDSS rootkit is very destructive. It is not uncommon to make a computer work is not properly after removing it. I advise you to restore your computer to factory default. Not only is this the best option, it's the safest option. I wouldn't consider the computer to be trusted without going through the restore process. Even if you can be sure that 100% of the infection has been removed, you have no way of knowing what changes the malware made to the settings on your computer, which may be exceptionally vulnerable to future malware attacks.

New hard drive - drive no. - how to install Windows Vista Home Premium on the computer?
I have an Acer with Windows Vista Home Premium and someone took the hard disk of the computer. They said that it has been damaged and it will not work. I wasn't here when they took out the hard drive. But I went bought a new. It is said that he needs a boot disk to start so I used my Windows XP because it says you can do a dual boot. So now how to make a copy of the Vista startup disk so I can get the version original back on my computer? It's actually my husband and he uses it for his work if any help would be great. I went through the help files and I was told to call Acer. Acer has said that they do not have a boot disk for mine over because it's out of warranty. So now I have no disc and it never even came with one. So, what should I do to get Windows Vista back there? Please please help me. I'm trying so hard to get this information, but nobody seems to have all the answers. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

Hey Amanda Ekker
Acer would normally you sell records recovery vista for a nominal cost of $
If they do not have their read belowborrow a microsoft dvd vista
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

I have problems separating records and files of the administrator and the user. My computer is a laptop (HP Pavilion dv6700), used as a home computer only by myself, I like to keep the two distinct roles, but am unable to as Vista seems to be considered as one and the same. This scenario has arisen as follows:
Initially, when I bought the laptop - approx. 18 months back - Windows Vista Home Premium was preinstalled, with the name 'Administrator' as an administrator. To customize the operating system and to use safely, I installed a user 'Renault', as a Standard account user.
After awhile, I changed the name of the Director of "Renault", for reasons I have can not remember now. This caused Vista to combine folders and files of the two "users" in one, I found difficult to deal with, that I could not operate my laptop as just a Standard user, but is still considered the "administrator." On the one hand, this greatly increased spam in my email accounts. So I tried to reset the name of the administrator as 'Administrator' itself and keep my user name as "Renault", as originally the case. But Vista me has failed to create a new user under the name "Administrator". So I created a new user under the name "System administrator", with administrative privileges. This has been accepted by Vista.
But I forgot to change the user account for 'Renault', on the Standard account, so there was BOTH administrator accounts at the same time on my laptop! I realized that now only. The net result was that all the files that I created under the system administrator user were still being displayed under the user account of Renault. A few days back, I realized this and tried to separate the files correctly, but it has not been possible. No matter what I copied the account of the user in the files under the system administrator account, the files have been copied on account of the user himself.
I tried to fix this by changing the name of the user account in something very different, AND as a Standard user. but this also does not work, as all folders and files under the administrator account system shows it as being under the user account of "Renault" only!
Then, I deleted the user 'Renault' from the list of the user, but he was not yet of any help. Whenever I tried to create a new file under the system administrator, Vista responds with the message, "C:\user\Rajaram folder is not present. Will I create a new? ", which defeat the same purpose of my tent to isolate the administrator account and the user account.
SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE WITH A SOLUTION, - OTHER THAN REFORMATTING MY C:\ DISK AND REINSTALL VISTA AGAIN - TO GET OUT OF THIS MESS, IT SEEMS TO ME YOU HAVE CREATED AND HELP ME TO HAVE AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT AND OTHER UNIQUE STANDARD USER ACCOUNTS PROPERLY ISOLATED.I would be always grateful for a quick and helpful response.
Thanks in advance.-RAJARAM77
Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful / sorry your proposed solution has not solved my problem. Kind regards. -Rajaram77Better to delete the user account except the one that was built in the administrator account that you renamed. Before this backup all your data files of these user accounts.
Then rename the buil into account administrator as 'administrator '. Then you create another administrator account and use it and never the user built in Administrator account and leave it alone. -
Windows Vista Home Premium does not start after mother, CPU and RAM upgrade card
I recently updated my PC Windows Vista Home Premium. I changed the motherboard, CPU, RAM and video card. When I booted the machine, it has not started Windows. Windows tried to recover, but could not. Is it possible to get this machine to start without doing a new install? The new facility will lose important files.
Hello
It's a normal reaction after replacing the hardware that you have replaced.
The hard drive with the installed operating system contains the old motherboard drivers, etc..
They must be replaced with the new motherboard, drivers etc.
You will need to reinstall the operating system and then install the new drivers of motherboard (you should have a diskette of drivers for it), if the new installation does not probably them, that it will not...
To backup your data > buy a hard drive USB enclosure > put your hard drive in it > plug it into another computer > read and copy your data from it in this way.
See you soon.

Unfortunately, it is not recognized as a microphone by my computer. Any suggestions? I would like to used to make orders of recognition on my computer. Thank you in advance for advice.
Hi Hayekk,
There are several things to try:
· Remove and then reinstall the device:
1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Bluetooth devices.
2 Select the device that is not working, and then click Remove.
3. click on Add, press the reset button on the unit (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), check the box my device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.
4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.
5. follow the remaining instructions in the wizard.
· Make sure that the device is on and that the batteries should be replaced.
· Make sure that the Bluetooth adapter for your computer is attached and turned on, and that the device is in use and detectable. If you don't know how to turn on discoverability, read the instructions provided with the device or check the manufacturer's Web site.
· The unit may be out of range of your computer, or too close. Try to move closer or a little further away from your computer.
