Windows Vista - restore ended successfully.

Had some problems with my laptop from last night. I accidentally dropped it on the desktop on a height of perhaps 4 inches, which for me is a not seem like a problem in time. Now I got problems with my laptop does respond to nothing. Are examples of couple, I was surfing the web and waiting for a page to load and it was never answered. Could not ctrl + alt + dlt to so had to turn off the switch. Another example is my computer stops do not. I told him to stop and he does nothing except watch icon next to my mouse. Waited for about 30 minutes and still nothing. Tried to restore twice this morning and get an error stating that the restoration was unsuccessful due to an unspecified problem. I'm not very good with computers, so if it is a simple difficulty then I apoligize for wasting time for everyone but I'm not sure what's wrong.

It may be useful to eliminate equipment defects

Type of memory in the search box of start and choose Memory diagnosis

In a command prompt (type command in the start search box, then right-click and)
Choose run as administrator) type

If you have more than one drive replace C: with the other drive letter.

Also test the memory with diagnoses of the memory (memory type in the search to start

  • My computer has been infected with "Windows Vista restore" what should I do to get rid of him?

    The fake security program Window Vista restore"scans my computer and tells me I have several hard drive errors.  It has blocked access to my computers system restore and defragment utility, appeared to 'clear' all my files (like images taxes) and I get the error pop ups telling me to turn off the computer because "hard drive failures.  When I click on cancel, x or anywhere on the box, the system stops.   When I restart, the same fake program starts begins to scan my computer again.  I tried running my Trend Antivirus scan and when the scan is about 99% complete, the fake program does not scan continue.  What should I do to get rid of him?  I'm asked to pay for an upgrade of the software, but have not entered my card number.  I'm afraid that my data has been hacked... including the loss of my photo albums.  I'm currently installing updates to windows on the computer.  Will he get rid of it?

    Hello

    do you mean Windows Recovery?

    read this:

    Windows Vista Recovery is a program of analysis and optimization of fake computer that displays false information in order to scare you into believing that there is a problem with your computer. Recovery of Windows Vista is installed via Trojan horses that display fake error messages and warnings of security on the infected computer. These messages will state that there is something wrong with the hard drive of your computer, and then suggests that you download and install a program that can solve the problem. When you click on these alerts, recovery of Windows Vista will be automatically downloaded and installed on your computer.

    Once installed, Windows Vista Recovery will be configured to start automatically when you log in to Windows. Once started, several error messages appear when you try to launch programs or delete files. Windows Vista Recovery will then prompt you to scan your computer, which will then find a variety of errors, he said, he can't fix until you purchase the program. When you use the defragmentation tool called it will specify that it should run in Mode safe and show then a background in Mode Safe false who pretended to defragment your computer. As this program is a scam do not be scared by buying the program when you see its alerts.

  • Installation for Windows Vista never ends.

    I'm having the same problem, installation seems good then never complete.  Thanks for the link.  I have read and tried these steps, always the same result.  Contacted dell but I am out of warranty so they sista waant 139 to tell me how to fix.  any other suggestions before I open my wallet?

    I ran Diagnostics and hardware controls ok.

    Hello
    Thank you.  I tried the method of reference dell as well several other suggested in this forum, all would complement very well and then on first commissioning will hold to "install complete".
    The reason for the reinstallation of the operating system was that I wanted to reformat and completely erase HARD drive in an effort to restore the computer to the original performance.  It is a machine to friends and after 3 1/2 years, he has so much rubbish on what it is most exploited properly.

    Anyway, Yes, it was Dell F12 Diagnostics test.
    I read in another thread in this forum that others have this same problem and was mitigated by changing the native ACHI SATA.  I was able to change the setting of the ATA (do not know the difference?) and reinstallation completed successfully.  Now the machine works fine and everything is reloaded.

    Now my question is this; Fact is leaving the machine in ATA instead of DCIS in SATA?  I tried to change these settings back and the computer would not start.
    What is the difference?

    Thanks again, appreciate the answers and assistance

  • Windows Vista restore factory settings

    Hello. I try to do a factory reset on my computer. The only thing I have a problem with is to choose what backup device to use before I launch the zero setting. Here is a screenshot of my options. Can someone tell me please that one to use so I can recover my files after resetting?

    http://prntscr.com/3a3l7w

    PS: I don't have the ability to use the backup of my files on a disk.

    Hello

    There is no option of backups in your screen printing

    You must make a backup of your files.

    Programs need to be reinstalled

    And we do not know what you have on E:, as the recovery partition is D: to reinstall Vista from.

    C: is the system, programs and data by car.

    You will often have an extra partition to save the data for, in this case, it seems to be E:

    If you created this partition or HP, I don't know

    If E: 10GBs of data, you will need to save it too much

    If you want to create a backup of files, buy an external hard drive.

  • Cannot restore backup successful - 0x8007007A Vista Home Premium error code

    I use Vista Home Premium that came with my laptop. I had a nightmare with my Dell Inspiron for the last two months. I finally gave up and decided to do a clean install, after completing a successful using the Vista Backup Backup Assistant. Now, here's the problem. I reinstalled Vista, and made sure I had all the Windows updates available. Now I want to restore my data from my removable hard drive files.

    I click on the Control Panel, system and maintenance, restore the backup files, Advanced Restore and select my removable hard drive (which is cool). Then, I get the following error message:

    "There was an unexpected error. The data area passed to a system call is too small. (0x8007007A).

    I tried to copy the backup file on my computer and going through the same process, but I get the same result.

    I'm at my wits end with this, I can see all the files on my portable hard drive so I know something is there, it's just Vista backup restore will not do its job.

    Help, please!

    First, disable any security software you have running on your system.

    Then connect the external drive and go to start / Control Panel / Adminiistrative tools / computer Managmernet / Disk Managment and change the drive the drive letter of bacckup (I don't know why, but I saw an answer where this atually worked so it's worth a try).

    If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.  More than finding the cause, I want to eliminate anything that might interfere with the process.  Try the restore in clean mode to see if the tht works.  Don't forget to return the system to normal when done regardless of the result.

    There is not much on this error code and absolutely nothing of a value - only valid suggestion posted above.

    Here is some general information that can help (although unrelated to this particular error)) but it may be useful to solve the problem as a whole.

    Here is an article on the restore procedure:http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

    This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.  It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

    Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work):http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

    I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):

    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."

    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"

    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.

    4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup ("Yes... even if he said that the backup location is not available ' )

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

    I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    There is a Startup Repair (Neosmart, wrongly named Recovery disk) Disk, a disk of "Recovery to factory settings" and a disc of Microsoft Vista.

    Read the information below on how to do the recovery in the way you bought:

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    update of security (KB2676562) has already been correctly installed 21 times, began towards the end of May.  Update for Windows Vista (KB2679255) was successfully installed 35 times, he began in mid-April.  These two continue to update themselves every day and do it at least twice a day, back to back.  It is very frustrating to have to deal with that and makes me think that something may be a problem with my computer.  I had heard of registry cleaners is not not a good thing to use, if recently I not unhooked my registry free cleaner.  I hope that it has not caused my computer to lose any registry key values.  Does anyone know a possible solution or what I need to do?
