  I managed to fix it!

  I completely removed the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEentry-SOFTWARE-Clients-Mail\Windows Live Mail and then repaired Windows Live Essentials.

  How did you install Vista?  If you have used a dvd recovery then it shouldn't require the entry of a product key.  If you are being invited to activate it, you can activate using the 25 character product key printed on the label at the bottom of the laptop or, in models later in the battery compartment.  Make sure that you do not enter a B for an 8, etc.  I suggest to use a magnifying glass and a bright light to make sure that you read the characters correctly.

  If it's a standard dvd of Windows, where did find the product key?  If it's a retail dvd, you must use one on the label on the dvd case.

  I'm trying to reformat my computer, but when I try to boot from my 64 bit vista family drive premium without options appear.   You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

  There is no place to download a legal copy of the installtaion disc.  Here is Microsoft's policy on replacing lost or defective software: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246.  You can always borrow a disk for Installation of Vista on the same size of the bit ANYONE and use if, for installation with your product key.
