can I upgrade Edition Vista Home premium to windows 7 using vista anytime upgrade for free?

Lol you cannot use Anytime Upgrade upgrading Vista to Windows 7.   The Vista program to THE was the upgrade of a Vista edition to a higher edition of Vista only.  The Vista program to THE ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  It has never been free.

THE present program is to upgrade an edition of Windows 7 to a superior and is only available to current users of Windows 7.

If you want to upgrade Vista to Windows 7, you must purchase a standard upgrade of Windows 7 at retail price.  Please see

  • Is there a free Windows 7 upgrade if I already bought Windows Vista?

    original title: Hello,.

Why should I buy a new copy of win7. When I have already paid for win vista Home premium? to upgrade because you guys can't stand anmore... I shouldn't get a free upgrade from vista to win7...?  I don't want to be feel obliged to pay just that my computer will function normally.
Thank you. I really need feedback - or I missunderstood - should I use same win vista edition Home premium... to install the upgrade - sorry - to win7?

There was actually a free upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows Vista, however, he offered a few years back (June 26, 2009 to January 10, 2010). In this case, for you to be able to upgrade to Windows 7, you would need a Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

However, you really do not need to upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows Vista is supported until 10/04/2012. You can refer to the link below for more information.

  • I bought Windows Vista Home Premium and got a free upgrade to Windows 7. Can I install Vista on a second computer and still be legal?

I bought Windows Vista Home Premium and got a free upgrade to Windows 7, which I have installed on Computer1.  Can I install Vista on a second computer computer2 and still be legal?

Is same question with versions of Microsoft office, if I have multiple versions allowed to install an earlier version on a second computer and stay legal?

No, unfortunately not, when you upgraded to Windows 7 indeed renounce you your right to use Vista. But keep the product key and Vista media where you need to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 again.

For MS Office (according to license as some allow multiple installations) If this older version is not in use you can install it on this computer second no questioned asked.

    Hello!

A long time ago (7 years probably) supplied with Windows Vista Home Basic x 86, we bought a laptop Toshiba Portege M800. I plan to upgrade to Windows 8/8.1/10, but I don't know if it will work. Here are my specs.

    Hello

We cannot tell you that you can definitely improve 8.1 or 10.

We provide only the information on the system requirements. Then, it is yours for a search.

And they're both done with a clean installation (no upgrade path) and they are not free.

Do the following before upgrade you to Windows 8.1.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8/8.1 not install and work properly for you.

There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

  • Vista Home premium OEM Windows 7 upgrade

Members of the community of dear MS,

I have two laptop PCs, they are all two Dell Inspiron 6400 and 1525 running Windows Vista Home premium.

I intend to have these two computers, but both work very well while they are slow.

I think Windows 10 upgrade because I am convinced that the operating system can give the best operation of resources even with older components.

Before moving to Windows 10, I need to upgrade to Windows 7 so that I can get a free upgrade for Windows 10.

Given that my two laptops are the OEM of Vista Home premium version and the Dell product key does not work to activate Windows 7.

Can I ask for help to advise what I can do now?

If I need to pay for an update to obtain Windows 7 Home Edition Basic, can advise please how I can pay for it.

Thanks for your help and advice.

    Best regards

    Brian

It is not sensible to buy a license and upgrade to Windows 7 just to get the free update of Windows 10.

Just buy Windows 10 GB of the full version of the GET (you will need two licenses), and then perform a custom installation:

    Buy Windows 10:

  • computer is windows 7 upgrade from vista

My computer started as Vista that I've upgraded to Windows 7. I read that to install 10 Windows in VIsta, it takes clean install.  I wonder if that includes my computer, although I currently have Windows 7...  Thank you

    Kevin

If you now run win 7 you can update to win 10 free between now and April 28, 2016.  There are two ways to do this.  The fastest is upgrade ISO (as a dvd) that you can get here.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is to download the ISO.  Year ISO is like a dvd in order to to use, you need to right click > go up.  Begin upgrading Windows.

The Final Windows 10 official download is now available (10586)

Use the download tool to create ISO support to update your windows.

  • Vista to Windows 7 Upgrade not activate when it is installed on the bare machine

    I have two laptops.

The first belonged originally to my employer and originally had an OEM of Vista installation.  After that I bought them that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium via the upgrade Vista product. This laptop is dead in a final very recently.

Also the second laptop was bought by my employer, but as bare metal (they were more able to transfer licenses of Windows). He had no OS installed. I was not able to install a copy of Vista on it (because the purchase of the laptop one did not include the disks of Vista). So that I could not transfer activation. Windows 7 upgrade-to-Vista install has worked well on the bare machine (after downloading the drivers and others) except for activation, where he could not say "you cannot use an upgrade installation."

I guess, reading a bit on this topic here, I'm out of luck on the old Windows 7 license transfer (although I'd like to hear otherwise). Even if this is the case, I need to know what I need to follow to install a version "authentic". I don't want to build the machine from scratch once again, if I can avoid it - it was very tedious. I don't want to 'upgrade' to Windows 8.

He would work to install a version of Windows 7 OEM on top of the existing, or must they be installed on a naked machine? Is there a different version that works if that won't? (Special bonus question: would such a facility, if it works, make the machine that is eligible for a free upgrade of Windows 10?)

Thanks for all your comments and responses.

Have you tried to activate by phone?

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Please note that if this Windows 7 license is part of the advantage of upgrading to Windows 7 since 2009, it has no transfer of rights.
