Windows vista to xp and back to vista

Is there anyone who tried to install Windows Xp from op to Windows Vista... then back to Windows Vista? Initially, we have old desktop with Windows Vista, and for reasons that we need to reinstall the op. This time we do not find the cd of windows vista, so install us our available XP. After 8 months 24 hours a day on... still have problems. Finally, we found the windows cd and wants to install back.  Now I'm afraid if I reinstall Windows Vista it will be rejected during registration and I totally lost the XP. Is there that someone had a problem with the key of product again when registering? Suggestions please...

  • Problem with livemail, upgrade Windows 7 to 10 and back again

    Separated from this thread.

    Hello

Having problem with livemail, improved Windiws 7 to 10 and then uninstalled immediately revert to the original with option to the program (things not working not properly).   All rolled back does OK no message or data errors.

Now all the direct mail has duplicated, will remove some, but others won't.

Can you post help or solution, please

    John

It seems that many of those who go back to Windows 7 from Windows 10 experience a corruption of the store folder (the folder where messages, calendars and the account settings are stored). According to your storage folder is how complex (several accounts, calendars a lot, a lot of messages number of files), it can be simpler to just create a new storage folder and fills again:

    1. Looking at your list of messages in Windows Live Mail, press Ctrl-Shift-O for Options. On the Advanced tab, click Maintenance and then store the file. Copy the path to locate the storage folder.
    2. Close Windows Live Mail and wait a few minutes (the program will continue to run in the background, while he does his household).
    3. Press the Windows key + E to open an Explorer window, and then paste or type the path that you copied to the (1) in the address bar and press ENTER. This should open your storage folder.
    4. Right-click on the name of the folder in the navigation pane, and select Rename. Call the Live Mail Backup.
    5. A repair must check that all the program files are present and correct and properly registered, as appropriate. To do this, close all running programs, and then press Windows key + R, type wlarp and press ENTER. In the window that opens, select repair all Windows Essentials programs:

When it is finished, restart the computer.

    6. Start Windows Live Mail and wait the program installs before doing anything. Press Ctrl-Shift-T to start the add your Assistant e-mail accounts and follow the prompts to add your e-mail accounts.
    7. Click once on the work online on the status bar and deconnecter disconnect Internet to avoid interference email downloads, and then use the file > import messages (I Alt - F) and point the wizard to the Live Mail Backup folder level. Do not intervene while the import happens.
    8. Leave the program alone for a while (an hour or two, or even a night or more) to enable him to reindex all your messages, then close and wait half an hour for the program to do his household.
    9. Relaunch the program and look at your messages under folder imported into storage folders. Take it slow, drag files out of any folder and drop in the location you want. Again, give the program time to re - indexing messages in their new location.

Note that you can not drag files out of storage files. If you want to forward messages to a high plu account folder in the folders pane, you need to select messages to transfer, and then use the right click > move or copy folder. The controls are also available as buttons in the folders of the Ribbon tab.

  • Update Windows (vista OS) never finished the update and keeps looping back to step 3.

Windows Update was updated and the system was arrested by mistake.  When the system is turned back on, the update process began in stage 3, goes to 50% then completed, he stops, stops, restarts and returns to step 3, States repeats the process over and over again in a loop.

    What are my options?

  • Vista upgrade to windows 7 does not and could not roll back to vista

I bought a retail pack for the Windows 7 upgrade. I tried to install it yesterday evening - took to always (more than 4 hours) and froze in several places for more than an hour. At the last second stage (installation of windows features) - he crashed and closed. Reboot, it says "set to level failed - rolling to the previous operating system". After about 1/2 hour of rolling back - it crashed again - blue screen "STOP: c000021a.» System fatal error. Process of initial session or the processes of the system ended unexpectedly with an error code of 0 x 000000000 (0xc00000001 0x0010037c). system was stopped.

the laptop (a Dell Studio 1555) cannot be started and is not an operating system. A terrible catastrophe for what seemed like a simple upgrade. I followed all the instructions in the Windows tutorial "upgrade Windows vista to windows 7 ', no warning that I should set out a clean boot which I've since found in blogs. I'm mad at Microsoft for releasing a product that will destroy my system when you follow their instructions.

I obviously need to re - install an OS - my question is... I have an other laptop Dell Studio 1555 which came with windows 7 and I have the installation disc. Can I use this disc to do a fresh install on this laptop and use the product key that came with Windows 7 upgrade disc?

Otherwise, it will be a long and difficult process of re - install Vista, upgrade to SP1 and upgrade to Windows 7, and then potentially have fail again. Please notify.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
