Hello
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup.
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
See you soon.

Hello
Did you check with the person who built or sold your computer?
If your computer is a customized version, you can use a Version of Vista retail.
You can also download and install SP1 and SP2 if necessary.
I hope this helps.

Hello... my computer will not install update KB2378111 with a code error 80070570. In addition, I can not install all programs downloaded from the internet, specifically my anti-virus software. I'm running without any software antivirus at this time. I ran the most recent Microsoft malicious software removal tool and it showed that there is no problem.

How to tell if Windows is for sale at retail or OEM?
I'm looking to install a new motherboard and processor in my PC, but I was told that the license for Windows 7 is assigned to the motherboard, so if I have an OEM version it will not work with the new parts. Unfortunately I lost my Windows 7 disc, if I still have the product key and product ID. Can someone tell me how I would know if my version is retail or OEM please? I heard that the OEM letters appear in the product ID, if it's an OEM version (which is not in my case), is that correct? Finally, as I have lost the disc, can I download a copy of Windows 7 and use my product key?
Thanks in advance for any help!http://www.w7forums.com/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-image-downloads-t12325.html

Driver for HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA - T20N WC05, Windows Vista Ultimate SP2
My DVD has disappeared from Windows Explorer. I had a similar problem last year and mounted my registry to remedy. This time the registry change has not solved the problem. I see the device in the Device Manager, but the driver needs to be updated. I can't find the driver anywhere. Anyone know where I can get it?
Shows Device Manager:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Thank you in advance for your help!

As I suspected, after installing Windows updates, the DVD works now!
He did not work at first, after that reboot, so I uninstalled the DVD again, rebooted and no DVD has been recognised at all. So I thought the drive finally died. I put the laptop into hibernation and went to bed. When I looked this morning, he found the DVD and installed.
Thanks for your help!

I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account.
I got my windows vista ultimate administrator standard user account. Now whenever I try to update or install "User Account Control" is constantly asking me to (type an administrator password, and then click OK). The problem is that I can't do this because OK is disabled (grayed out) and no place to type the admin password or the other. How to restore this administrator account or even to enable the local administrator account by default here?Hello
If you have another administrator user account on your computer then log in and change the account to standard user for the administrator account. If not, then follow the steps from the link and check if that helps: how to use system restore to log on Windows 7 or Windows Vista when you lose access to an account http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940765/en-us

Reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate version box, purchased at the retail store in a new machine
I've upgraded from Windows XP came preinstalled as with my wife for Windows Vista Ultimate laptop bought in a store of retail as a boxed version. The motherboard of the laptop died recently and we intend to buy a new laptop without an operating system preinstalled. Is it possible to install Windows Vista Ultimate Edition of the product we have and turn on without any problem.

If the Vista Ultimate is a full retail product and then install it here. You may need to use telephone activation, but this isn't a problem. If it is a Vista Ultimate upgrade version, you must have an operating system that is valid for upgrade and without a preinstalled OS or a license for the new computer "legally" impossible to install the upgrade version.XP OEM license for the old system died with the old system and cannot be used for the new computer as a qualifier for an upgrade. -

Updates for Windows Vista Ultimate.
I have Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. When I got the machine, I installed the latest updates for Windows Vista. This caused a problem with the license and told me to ignore the updates for Windows Vista to avoid the problem again. Is this still the case and, if so, why does Windows Update not recognize that I have 'Ultimate' and stop of asking me to install more than 50 updates every time I turn on the machine?
He was the one who told me that the problem was that I shouldn't download updated Vista because I had Vista Ultimate.
Nonsense. It is VERY important to install all updates offered by Windows Update Service Packs and critical security.
There will come a time soon when your computer will not be offered more updates at least that Vista SP1 is installed. A few years later, the same thing apply to Vista SP2.
Your computer is subject to countless vulnerabilities in its current state. ~ Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (that is to say, mail, security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ WARNING: MS MVPs represent or work for Microsoft

Hi James Shields.
· What is the exact error code that you receive for activation?
· Have you activated your Windows version?
· You have the product key provided with the installation disc?
· Is the final copy of windows has the sale retail or OEM copy?
· What is the application you're using to play the DVD?
Try the steps listed in the link for cause of activation below: error message when you start Windows Vista: "your activation period has expired": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925616
To the question related to your audio on DVD:
1. If you use Windows Media player to play the DVD, and then try to use another application and check if the result is the same.
2 install the latest Codec, you can check out the link below: Codecs: frequently asked questions:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Codecs-frequently-asked-questions
