  I have a Vista computer.  The hard drive broke so until I replaced it I backed up all the files on the computer to another computer running Windows 7. I did it in the backup and Restore Center.  I made a backup of files, not a full backup of the system (I've seen the full backup of the system mentioned in other posts, but that was not an option... maybe which is only available on Vista Premium).  In any case, I replaced the hard drive and then try to restore the files, but I get the message "Windows could not find any backup sets [file path]."  Anyone have any ideas?  Thank you.

  I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

  So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

• Backup and restore cannot find any backup sets.

  I had to reinstall windows 7 prof 64 using the original recovery partition and want to restore my data files that I had backed up using the backup and restore windows.  The files are on a network drive.  "When I run the restore I have 'Browse' the network choose the folder labeled" backup files aaaa-mm-jj xxxxxx "but it comes back with the error message: Windows could not find the backup sets on \\xxxxx please select a different location.

  Early research indicated it could be a permissions problem and the network drive is not a Microsoft Windows type disk I copied the folder and all the files on my C: drive and checked that they were all showing all permissions to all the users/system/everyone etc.  I tried again.  Same result.  I tried now selection of locations right differnet down the folder hierarchy (for example: in 'Catalogue' records and individual records date) but still get the same message.

  I realize that I could go in the individual zip files and restore everything manually, but the backup set has 9 different files and 525 zip datr files each with a tree long through the files of the hard disk C: before getting to the part of My Documents with data.

  It would be so much easier than Microsofts back/restore program does what it is supposed to do.  The only references I found in the web site of Support MS concerned questions of authorisation and in ensuring that the original folder is in the format "Yyyy-mm-dd of backup files xxxxxx"  I've done both.

  Any help gratefully received.

• Not able to find the backup recovery of KeePass

  I use KeePass to manage passwords. I just finished installing a SSD that has less capacity that made the boot partition, I started with that. To reduce the boot partition to fit on the SSD, I moved downloads and user data files to a partition on a hard drive. I made the registry changes required and tested that the system now handles these types of files correctly. Now, all that is good, but somehow in the process, I moved the KeePass database to a location where KP does not.

  I made backups, so I have the file database for KP. My problem is that I was not successful in getting the application and the database to do their thing together. I tried an import operation, but she didn't (don't know why). I was unable to find options to change the path to the database in the program options. They might be there, but I could not find them.

  If someone has experienced this or similar problems with KeePass and perfectly recovered of the database so that it would work KP, I be grateful to know how they did it.

  The cause of my problem was found and the problem solved.

  My problem is that the Composite master key stored in the database had no space to the right. However, I entered a trailing space over and over again without realizing it.  On another forum, I was challenged by a user and that woke me up to the blind spot.  I took care to select my key without a space to the right value.  After gluing and OK'ng, the entries appear immediately.

  Hope this helps someone else who might have a similar problem in the future.

  The bugs that you might not find were marked as internal, I changed the flag to the public for the first three bugs, the last of them is declared against a development version, I can't do what a public.
  None of them have been fixed in 11.1.2.2.

  I did run a daily backup to a computer in a network with windows backup and Restore Center. the hard drive crashed on this computer and we had to install another. When I try and use advanced restore / backup made on a different computer, I can navigate to the backup on the network computer folder but when I select the folder and click Next it gives me an error:
   
  I get: Windows is not able to load the backup game selected for the following reason:

  There is a problem with the backup catalog... 0x810000E5... restore from a different place...

  Just to add additional information; The computer with the replaced hard drive running Vista family premium, the path to the backup file is \\HPDESKTOP\Public\Backup\Bobruncer-pc\.

  There is another folder under Bobruncer-pc called Bobruncer-pc and all the backup files. I restore from the correct location? Also, the backup folder is 226 concerts but the backups were made from a hard drive of 80 GB... should I worry about this too?

  Just to clarify, perform you a complete PC Backup or backup and restore?

  When you do return, and restore, it can be saved as a .zip file in the backup folder. You can decompress the file and retrieve the required files.
