Windows xp cpu benchmarks more than three times slower than on windows 7 running on my i5 760 image

I ran cpu benchmarks under xp on a pent. 4 @ 3 GHz and an i5 quad processor. @ 2.9 ghz and got almost the same results.

However when I run the same test on the i5 quad. processor the platform of windows 7, I get 3.5 times the speed.

It seems to me the xp runs only on a single core i5 quad.  I also understand that taskmanger XP has a

additional oppition called 'set afinity' when you right click on a process and run multi cores or processors. This isn't there?

My question is how to make xp to use all 4 cores. It should be quick blazeing and it's not. And while windows 7 is really

most enjoyable of my software does not work on it. I need my xp and it wouldn't hurt if it was really fast.

Hi carlcrone,

What version of Service Pack is installed on your computer?

Windows XP supports quad core processors. I recommend you to ask your question to TechNet for assistance.

In Windows 7, you can try to run the software in compatibility mode & check if it works.

For more information, please visit: make older programs run in this version of Windows

For faster access to the internet, you can also try to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9.

Hope the helps of information.

Please post back and we do know.

I inherited a stupid MDX takes more than 10 hours to run in ASO. This formula is member of the map called forecast scenario & real scenario.

This is the equivalent of ASOsamp of it:

I think I can shorten it to:

    (1) are the following equivalent?

    IIF (([ActualScenario],[Expense]) + 0 <>0)

    can be replaced by

    IIF (NonEmptySubset ([ActualScenario], [Expense])

    ?

    2)

The reason I can remove almost all the lines for the PERIOD - his first line, it is already check if [period] is zero. Then, it updates level 0.

So why would we want to write the code to update (period) levels 1, 2 and 3?  ASO is supposed to automatically consolidate all other levels 1 to 3. So why is this MDX aggregating levels 1 to 3?

    (3) in fact, I don't know why we need this Case statement:

CASE WHEN ISLEVEL ([period]. CurrentMember, 0)

I thought THAT MDX in Member roadmap scenario only works on members leaves (zero level).

    PS.

    The time dimension is simply

    Year

    -Feb

    -Mar

    -Qtr2

    etc.

Thank you and Merry Christmas / happy holidays!

PS. I changed my name to "SEEP limits."

Rolling up the quarters is the real problem. Since you have a verification statement to see if you are at level 0 do the math, you're cutting everything above level 0. Yes, it's fast - but it's because you're excluding senior level members.

I don't know how this cube is great, but you can possibly use this formula with a procedure calc to write the data to another Member. In this way the aggregation would work without any formula.

  • HP Pavilion 15-n268sa CPU time more than 90 just with running windows 8.1?

Hello, I've had this laptop for 2 days and today under its weight all sorts of strange things. several times it has disappeared from the black screen (not arrested, just as he had torn out battery and a loss of power). I got a message that there was a problem and windows were stopped and gave an error like 0xa0000001 or something.

but before that I have had that I was worried. some of the first things I did was to install some programs to reference. Speccy, cpuid, gpu - z. CPUID doesn't show the time, but speccy showed the hearts of the processor to make everything running at 80-90 with windows just sit and do nothing. It highlights something more than 80 in red. GPU - z shows the double with similar graphics, but about 5 degrees more down time and watch the map amd radeon hd 8670 M in much less time. a fan inside seems to be on, and when the time if abouve 95 seems to go up a gear. but I've seen speccy 106 c. time display!

I think that's what's causing the laptop to blackout and restart; time to go over 105 for any time at all. In short it works under windows, with sometimes even with power supply plugged into the laptop screen dimming. but try and run something, such as an internet connection, connect what either in the usb which is powered by the laptop ports, or browse the web - even not watch video or streaming just google search! - and the time jump up to the middle of the 90 or more.

Please no spamming no unnecessary links on the cleaning of the ventilation openings. its nine bought 2 days and it looked like when I turned on. There is nothing to clean the inside, unless he left the factory in this way.

is there a way I can force the fan on permanently full or close to it (the life expectancy of the fan against the ease of use of the portable computer of balancing) since the habit of fan noise bothers me as much as this thing will melt. its under warranty for another 362 days but that is not the point. im getting a laptop cooling thing (I had to buy an already, but its kind of asthma, but it hit off time 2degrees sometimes idling). times are more than 90 again I better post this before can't the black abyss. • Qosmio X 775-use of CPU is more than 99%

I have a Qosmio x 775 and all in (im won't lie), I played LoL, somehow evverything started going more slowly. My mouse barely moved, so I just leave and off my qosmio.
Then I turned new and the problem got worse.

It took like a minute to open the start menu. So I opened the Task Manager and look at the CPU usage went from 24 percent to 99, 100%,.

So I started at the end needless, but cpu consuming processes and somehow my laptop is back to normal.
I'm about to scan with my anti-virus and im going to delete things I don't need, but I just want to know what had happened and how to avoid it when it happen?

    > but I just want to know what had happened and how to avoid it when it happen?

In my opinion, insisted some of the processes that are running in the background on the central unit and, therefore, computer laptop performance is down.
It might be possible that one of the process belongs to the game or some of the 3rd party applications installed on the system.

Next time you should open the Task Manager and check the process that places great emphasis on the CPU.

  • Why does take more than 20 hours to run MSE from the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

I've upgraded to Windows 7 a couple of days.  Normally, I run a full scan of MSE once a week at night while I'm SLEEPING.  Since upgrading to Windows 7; MSE 5% complete the next morning.  I don't know why it happened - please let me how to fix it.

I suspect that the problem is that your computer came into fashion "sleep" during execution of MSE.  There are a number of discussions related to that on this forum as the following: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/mse-protect_scanning/why-doesn option is to change your power settings to prevent the "sleep mode", and then change them back.  What I do is run a small program called insomnia which remains visible on the screen, so I remember to turn off once the scan is complete: http://insomnia.en.softonic.com/

  • Acer Aspire 5349 began to stop randomly, now can not stay on more than 2 seconds

    Hello world!

I use my 5349 aspires for more than 4 years now running Windows 7. A few months ago, he began stopping at random - sometimes after an hour of work, other times - after 10-15 minutes.

It is used mainly for light office work, but given his age, I decided it was due to the accumulation of dust or otherwise overheating due to thermal decomposition paste to the processor and the thermal pads - for the video chip. It is out of warranty, so I disasembled he replaced even if the thermal paste compound and the thermal pad seemed OK. There was no dust important problem as well, in any case seized the opportunity to thoroughly clean.

After assembling and switching on, it ran stable for 3-4 hours which even helped me put upgraded to Windows 10 (32 bit). He rested for a few days due to the holidays here and then when turned on - again closed in about 10 minutes. After that no matter what I do - perform disassembly, check for loose contacts, CMOS battery, laptop battery, etc.-, he could not run for more than a few minutes from the Windows recovery and then stops again. In the last days it even can't stay for more than a few seconds before stopping again, so I can not even get into the BIOS.

Laptop battery is good, because it has always been used as a desktop replacement, in all cases tried with battery and battery off nothing works. The power brick is one that came with it originally, even though it says LITEON instead of ACER. Tried another one with the same voltages and amps for an another ACER laptop - the situation didn't improve or change at all.

Logically, I started reading here and discovered on exactly the same problems with other similar models, so I tried all the suggestions - replaced RAM, HDD, DVD, tried to boot from USB or DVD, tried to remove the build-up of electrostatic charges. I'm very suspicious of the latter, or any electrical problem / might like, because when I completelly demolish the mobile nut, i.e. by removing everything that can be removed and then back - it works for 10-15 minutes before closing.

So, finally, the question is - is there suggestions that I could follow?

The easy solution is to replace the MB in case it would help, or the completely portable, but I hate when I don't understand or diagnose a hardware problem and will make every effort to identify and resolve.

    See you soon!

Here the time (158.34) of the CPU is more than the elapsed time (150.63) ?. How could it be?

    Documentation said...

    CPU

Time CPU in a few seconds to analyze all the total, run or to search for the statement. This value is zero (0) If TIMED_STATISTICS is not enabled.

    ELAPSED

Total time in seconds for all parse, execute, or fetch calls for the statement. This value is zero (0) If TIMED_STATISTICS is not enabled.

Could you please help me understand who is the elapsed time can be higher in time CPU?

in most cases the time CPU will be smaller than the elapsed time. I think it is useful to compare the information to see if an operation is CPU related (like your request) or if the elapsed time is associated with waiting (IO, competition etc.). But I would not count on the exact number.

Mounting my drive hard exFAT fails more than 70% of the time in Windows XP.  I downloaded the Microsoft exFAT driver (Windows XP-KB985704 - x 86 - ENU.exe) and installed XP Service Pack 3.  However, when I turned the computer off and restart it, the disc will install.  I'm having this problem with several readers.  Looks like the player trying to get (new Windows hardware sound chimes when you plug in the drive).  Then rapidly thereafter dismantle it quickly sounded. When I take the car and plug it into my Mac, it is still rising.  Is it possible that I have to do something more to install the Microsoft exFAT driver?  The drive is made by G-technology.  I also tried to remove the disc before you turn off the computer and turn off the computer with the mounted drive yet.  Whatever it is, the reader is not recognized when I restart the computer.  I ran an on the disks and sometimes Apple disk utility, I get the message that the reader has a cluster to run repair disk.  After that, the player either go up or not.  There is no virus on the Windows computer.  The operating system is a novelty.  I use the system only to run AVID.   No other software is on the computer other than what came with it.  The computer is a HP 8600 workstation.  I mount the drive through a port firewire 400 on the computer using firewire 400 to 800 cable G technology.

    Hi motionpicturedirector,

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.
