Windows XP Desktop size changed

My son has a netbook with Windows 7 starter and he did something where his office got bigger to the point where he has to scroll just to see the whole office. I've looked everywhere I can think to change the desktop back to default if anyone can please tell me how to solve this problem.

Thank you in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

Well I finally realized what it was. I tried everything that was suggested. I'm pretty decent with computers, while she kind of scratching my head. There is a utility on the netbook and it has an icon in the taskbar and the resolution had been changed in it. It replaces the commands from the computer. I didn't even know she had a something like that and I found it by chance while all goes well.

Just so others may be able to use it. It's a netbook ASUS Windows XP and there a utility called EeePC there a tray utility and you can change the resolution of the screen.

Thanks for all help

  • Windows XP: desktop icons changed to the same names, but retained their original functions

    Hello

I know that put at the point before, but the problem was never properly solved. I have Windows XP. While I was changing the name of one of my Office Word Document files yesterday, all of a sudden all my desktop icons changed under the same name. I can't tell you how it happened. 'My computer', 'My Documents', 'Trash' 'Internet Explorer', 'Adobe Reader', 'Corel Photo House', "MS Paint", "HP Solution Center" and eight other program launch icons, as well as 12 document records and 25 files of Word document on my desk, all had the same name change that I'd just been undertaken with one Word on my desktop files. Each icon has yet launched the successful operation or properly open to its original content.

I called my friends in the Geek Squad to two different Best Buys and they had never heard of him. I called Microsoft Corp. in Washington State and spoke to someone there. He had never heard of this before but found a couple of reports, one in 2006 and one in 2009. He said that he asked around the House Microsoft and if he could find an answer, post it on the forum.

No one was able to tell me how it could happen and no one could tell me how to fix it.

I then, on my own, done a restore of the system in two days. He restored the original names on all the items that I have listed above and it restored the original names on all 12 desktop file folders. But it does not restore the names under the 25 Word document files. Those that I had to open individually to see what they were and then rename them manually the original name. Would enjoy to hear your opinion on this.

    Hi Pete,.

I tried what you wrote... Select all the files, rename one file and all the files are renamed automatically - as I thought - but for a change of my computer, my network places and My Document obtained renamed the sting that it represents in the registry! I tried CTRL + Z file names seem to be restored, but not for the default icons!... Seems interesting...

  • Why zoom in Windows 7 has also changed the font size in Firefox?

I have win7 and I tried to change the size of the text/icon from windows to 125%. It has also affected everything in firefox (text tabs, bar etc, not the text on the pages you want to change by pressing ctrl + / address). I changed it to 100% and everything became really tiny. How can I make standard size any zoom that I use in windows itself.

Have you had experience of this kind of problem before?

    Sincerely
    Antti

    You can try this:

    1. Open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut (right click: properties)
    2. Go to the Compatibility tab
    3. Make a mark before "Disable display timing of high DPI settings" to see if this has the effect.

You can use an extension to set a page zoom and the size of the default font on the web pages.

    Hello

I have a problem with the working window in Photoshop CS4 changing size without apparent reason.

For example, I put the working window to a size that suits me, and inside of this window is the canvas containing the work - in this case the value A4 portrait. When I select "fit to window", the entire work window becomes smaller and fits around the canvas.

What was once happen, and I want to continue to happen, is for the main working window to always stay the same saize, only not to change just because I change the zoom level of the work. I tried to save the workspace, but the size of the window changes again each time.

Can someone give me some advice about this?
