Windows XP Home, and Tecra 780dvd...
Hello
don't know if anyone can help me, I have a 780dvd tecra with winXP home installed, and win98SE. I only use XP for my iPOD connection and transfer music, but built in DVD player the 780dvd (sd-c2002 being the number of the disk according to XP) does not at all. Obviously, I need this for music trnsfer and everything really. I know that I had the drive runs under XP before, but in Device Manager it says that the driver is missing or damaged. When the drive to uninstall and reinstall, it does exactly the same thing! I have not my disk XP with me as I am at the University abroad and Windows XP on microsoft.com home page seems to be very little help, someone has an idea what could be the problem? Maybe some kind of conflict with another device? Although there is no conflict of resources, according to XP. I don't know what the problem is!
would be really grateful if someone could shed some light on this.
Thank you.
Hi shimmy
It is not easy to tell what the problem may be, but as far as I know it is possible that you have a virus. One of my friends had the same situation. By the virus becomes IDE a yellow question mark.
Try to make the virus scan first.

As the laptop is barely a month old and a 1/2, it is under warranty.
Communicate with the computer laptop manufacturer A.S.A.P. and make a claim.
Make a claim because it may be the precursor of future problems with your laptop and you want this connected with the manufacturer.

Can I do a fresh install of Windows 7 Home and use the old product key?
Hello
I got a laptop from a former employer who removed the hard drive before give me the computer.
I installed a new hard drive and you want to do a fresh install.
The previous operating system was Windows 7 Pro OA Enterprise Edition and I have the product key for it.
Can I do a fresh install of Windows 7 Home and use the old product key?
and after that I still increases to 10 Windows using the same product key?
Concerning
Regrow72
If you have plans to upgrade to Windows 10 Home, I would skip trying to reinstall Windows 7 and go directly to Windows 10.
You can use your family Windows 7 product key to install Windows 10, learn how:
How to install and activate Windows 10 using your Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key
Step 1: How to download official Windows 10 ISO files
Step 2: how: perform a clean installation of Windows 10
If you are experiencing problems activating Windows 10, see:
Activate your Windows 10 license with Microsoft Chat support
I recommend to go to Windows 10 now while you can, because Microsoft will stop the free upgrade offer at the end of July:
Windows 10 free upgrade offer ends July 29 as planned
Microsoft to remove Windows Notification Nag upgrade 10
Resources:
Windows Free Upgrade on schedule 10 to end July 29, 2016 - what are your options?
If you still want to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium, please see:
For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.
It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.
Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:
How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?
Make sure you scroll down and read the section:
What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Reinstall Windows 7 Home and reupgrade to Windows 7 Pro
I have a Dell laptop, Inspiron, provided with Windows 7 Home installed, but without the installation diskettes. I've also upgraded to Windows 7 Pro. I need a new hard drive. How can I reinstall Windows 7 Home and reupgrade to Windows 7 Pro, without going through the installation of operating system diskettes and without having to purchase another upgrade of Windows 7 Pro or the original operating system?
Thank you.
I would recommend that you create your recovery disk that will allow you to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium:
Creation Your system with Dell DataSafe Local recovery discs...
If its damaged, then you will need to request a new set of Dell:
Request backup discs - welcome to Dell Technical Support
It allows to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium, then reactivate again Express upgrade. Make sure you have your Windows 7 Professional key on-site. If you do not, make sure that you pick up before the deletion or the format of the player:
Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

NB550D - upgrade to Windows 7 Home and 4 GB of RAM
Hi guys
First time here, after having read some of the threads that I thought that I ' d up together and quickly explain what I did to the computer laptop missus. Well this model only comes with the Windows 7 Starter which is limited to 2 GB (a lot of conflicting info out there), so if you stay 4GB in there, it will use only 2 GB. After doing a fair bit of research sound capable of 4 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows.
So I put Windows 7 Home on and 4 GB in the tank and she flies the long. He pictures than its single got 3.6 GB of RAM, I can live with that.
Manufacturer of ram has 1333 DD3 Strontium...
In my opinion its all worth it...
Good luck.
Hey,.
> He photographs than its single got 3.6 GB of RAM, I can live with that.
Seems that you have installed Windows 7 32 bit. Right? If you have 4 GB of RAM you will need to install Windows 7 64 bit!

Problem between Windows XP Home and Windows 7 Starter of file sharing
Hello, I have a problem with file sharing: my desktop computer running Windows XP Home Edition and my netbook runs Windows 7 Starter Edition.
On Windows XP, I shared a folder: Win 7 is able to open the directory and the files in the list, but there is no way I can open any file in the folder XP, nor that I can transfer the any of these files to my netbook.
All I get is an error "access denied."The XP Workgroup is the same as the 7 home network, and the users have all the privileges on both computers.
Can you help me to sort out what is happening, please?
Thank you.
B.As a first step, you have XP Home, which means that the 'Simple file sharing' is applied on this machine. In addition, this means that any network connection on your XP Home of any another machine machine is forced to authenticate you as a user 'Guest', regardless of what a privilege that may be the real user. In from here, it would seem that the 'Guest' user doesn't have privilege for the files or folders that you share. To resolve this problem, you must change the access permissions to these files.
If you drag (move) files on your computer in your share folder, the origin on the file permissions will be maintained. On the contrary, I would say that you copy the file to the shared folder by dragging with the right button of the mouse and select 'Copy' instead of 'move '. A copied file will end with permissions for the destination folder that will be generally more suitable for sharing.
To the files and folders that are already in this folder, to change permissions, you must Access the 'Security' tab under the Properties screen. In XP Home, this is possible if you log in as administrator in "safe" mode To start your computer in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 during the startup key key), connect you as an administrator user, navigate to the file or the folder with problems of access, right-click on it, select 'Properties', select the 'Security' tab and set security such as 'everyone' (or 'guest') has the privilege of access you want.

I just baught a computer with windows 10 home and you want to downgrade to windows 7
I just baught a pc with windows 10 home on it and I absolutely hate it in my opinion is the worst opperating system windows has never turned off. I really want to downgrade to windows 7. I have installation disc n I acquired in a tech store were and how could I get an activation key and how muuch do it costs
Hello
First thing to do is to make sure that the PC manufacturer supports and office supplies Windows 7 drivers for this PC.
If it is not Windows 7 will not install and work properly for you.
Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.
Try Amazon.com.
And a word of warning: do NOT buy key product for themselves because they can be stolen or pirated.
Buy the complete sealed package: DVD, product key/license, etc.
See you soon.

Try to send an email with two files attached (such as Microsoft word doc or PDF), when I try to send file from My Documents to the e-mail address, a rainbow appears
say - there is no e-mail program associated to perform the requested action. Install an e-mail program, or is it already to create an association in the default program control panel.
Where can I find it?
Hello
You will need to install an e-mail program if you do not already have one and then set it as the default e-mail program. Microsoft Office Outlook is an option (but you have to buy at a cost) or you can use free Windows Live Mail *. You can download it from:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-Live/Essentials
(just choose the Windows Live Mail program in the list of programs avialble to install if you do not want others).
After installation:
1. press the Windows key + X and then select Control Panel then default programs
2. Select the program to define access and the default computer
3. Select custom , and then click the right arrow.
4. Select Windows Live Mail as default email program and click OK.
5. restart the PC.
You should know that there is no absolute need to have a default e-mail program installed if you do not want. You can simply open the Windows 8 Mail app (or browser webmail) and attach files directly to a new e-mail message.
* There are other 3rd party (non-Microsoft) programs also.

If you experience problems with the Office updates, try to manually download the same and install.
You can search the individual updates here:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspxHe just put in the KB number and then perform a search.
If it always creates a problem disconnect from the internet and then try to install the updates, and another thing, you can try is turn off UAC before downloading a first update manually. See: (Guided Help: settings to adjust user account control in Windows 7):
