Windows XP - Patch Manager - error

It's a very fresh installation of MS Windows XP Pro SP3 (x 86, Russian)...

Int. Windows Update manager warned... I downloaded the thing but then he ceased to react somehow, and I restarted. Then I have to MS Update site and does the work, now it appears all the time (alerts) and disappears instantly.

What I tried: registry cleaners, etc... nothing works.

PS UNIFIED messaging is defined on notify only (not to download or install, etc..). SP3 installed separately, from the CD.

[Ugh!]

Assuming that you do not have any software installed that is dependent on .NET Framework 2.0 or higher, you can proceed as follows:

1. stop the automatic updates service:

Start > run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2. open Windows Explorer to

C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\download <=this>

and delete its contents (that is, everything in the folder).

3. go to http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate new | Select CUSTOM and allow the analysis to be performed. Uncheck the box/deselect all optional following updates and hide from them ("do not show me this update"):

KB951847 .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
KB971513 Windows Automation API
KB926140 PowerShell
KB909520 Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic service
KB928416 NET Framework 3.0
KB940157 Windows Search
KB829019 .NET Framework 2.0
KB974331 Silverlight
Main components of Windows Live

Advanced Micro Devices - other hardware - AMD processor

3B. now check & install updates two following 2:

KB931125 (root certificates update)
Microsoft .NET Framework to. 1.1

4. before you restart your computer, start the automatic updates service:

Start > run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click automatic updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)

5. now restart your computer.

  • After updating Windows, causing KB981957 XP BSOD, C000021a Service Control Manager error at startup in safe and normal mode.

After you apply this update, the system starts more (secure or normal) and gives the BSOD error above.  Manual removal of the patch Recovery Console fix the BSOD using batch spuninst.txt in the patch folder.  The affected system is an AMD Athlon 2400 + with 2 GB of RAM and XP SP3.  All other updates installs successfully.  I scanned viruses with Avast, Dr Web CureIt, ComboFix, Malwarebytes and TDSSKiller.  The system seems to work fine without the update.

It seems to be a problem with the Win32k.sys file in the patch, but I ran out of utilities to solve this problem.

    Hello

The solution is to report the problem, so the update can be set to not to do so. Microsoft
may already be a fix, or work on it, or it could be a new problem. He
There's even a phone number to make it easier.

Certainly keep good backups that there could be an underlying hard disk or hardware
    issue.

    ========================================================

Here is the solution for the coooo21A except use it when you can just get the fixed update
is not the method I want to use.

    STOP: 0XC000021A

Can be a difficult problem to solve, and you indeed need a technical help in a real store of the computer
(not the leeks and the glances at a BestBuy or other BigBox stores) or system manufacturer support.

    Cause

This error occurs when a subsystem of mode user, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), irremediably compromised and security can not be guaranteed. In response, the operating system goes into kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, it is one of the rare cases where the failure of a user mode service can stop the system.

Incompatible system files can also cause this error. This can happen if you restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs may skip restoring system files which they determine are in use.

    Solve the problem

Run the kernel debugger is not useful in this situation because the error occurred in a user mode process.

Resolve an error in the user-mode device driver or system, third-party application service: Because the bug 0xC000021A control occurs in a user mode process, the most common culprits are third-party applications. If the error occurred after the installation of the new or updated device driver or service system, third-party applications, the new software should be removed or disabled. Contact the manufacturer of the software on a possible update.

If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu that results, select thelast known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time. If the error is not resolved, try to manually remove the offending software. If the system partition is formatted with the (FAT) file allocation table, use a MS-DOS boot disk to access the hard disk of the computer. If the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use Safe Mode to rename or remove the defective software. If the defective software is used as part of the start-up procedure of the system Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file. If a room newly installed if material is suspected, remove it to see if that fixes the problem.

Try running the emergency recovery disk (ERD) and allow the system to repair any errors that it detects.

Solve a problem of file system do not match: If you have recently restored your hard disk from a backup, check if there is an updated version of the backup/restore program available from the manufacturer. Make sure that the latest Windows Service Pack is installed.

I'm trying to uninstall Microsoft Silverlight. I used Windows Installer found in the control panel to delete, however, when I try to remove the program I get the error 'this patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.'

The program itself shows is no longer in my program list, and when I visit the Silverlight Web site may not detect an existing version on my system. But when I try to download the latest version, that he says could not be installed because I need to remove the previous version first... I'm going in circles and get no where... I downloaded Revo Uninstaller Pro but it also had no effect... I'm stuck!

    Thanks again.

The error specified in the link is not same as I get.

But I tried another option yesterday almost similar to what I had created image of Norton Ghost of my operating system partition.

-First I used the Dell recovery disk to store everything. Given that this option was not working and give me same above error.

-File Win7 Home Premium ISO downloaded from http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/win/X17-58997.iso

-Burned the ISO to a DVD and booted up the laptop with this DVD.

-Norton Ghost image restored to the OS partition using Norton software used for the creation of the image

-Tried but got the same error, then I started mobile uses DVD Win7 and selected option to repair windows

-Ensure the OS partition is 'active' with Partition Wizard (http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html)

-Even once when I first started, I saw error like "Repair Windows (recommended)" or "run windows normally.

-Selected "Run Windows normally", after that I have found no problem. My laptop works perfectly without any startup errors.

    Thanks for your help.

In fact, Norton Ghost Image helped me restore the operating system on the new HARD drive and as I went through a lot of discussion on this forum before doing this exercise.

    Please advise,

    Hi Mike,.

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

Once complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver from the link below.

    Chipset Driver - Windows 8.1

When you're done, shut down the laptop by holding down the SHIFT key when you click Shutdown to temporrily prevent a hybrid boot.

Only start the laptop and let Windows load completely - it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - restart the computer and try to play the mp3 file.

  • Windows XP starts, an error message appears. 'RUNDLL error loading C:\Windows\ihukuqej.dll'. The module specific cound not be found.

Original title: Windows Rundll error on startup

My laptop, Windows XP startup, an error message appears. RUNDLL error loading C:\Windows\ihukuqej.dll.  The module specific cound not be found.  I downloaded ParetoLogic PC Health, did a full scan on the registry and fixed all of them, rebooted and its still there.

    What is a rundll error?

File rundll.exe are processes systems directly connected to your computer Windows registry. All of the Dll files are a part of the vast library that contains code and data that are shared by many programs. This allows to obtain the effectiveness of speed and memory of your operating system by reusing the same code or file to run many functions of various programs. An error occurs when the program are not allowed to access this code.

    Why do you Rundll errors?

Windows uses rundll files to load programs, files, and applications. If the dll file is missing or damaged, any application using this file cannot be loaded. This will produce a rundll error. The reason why the file has disappeared is often related to a virus or spyware. This type of malware often tries to divert the files shared by the rundll file. Other sharing programs file then do not work effectively or to load any.

    STEP 1: IDENTIFY

The first thing you need to do is to identify the process specific rundll. This isn't a difficult task; There is a library online extensive process in which you can assess the validity of the process that is running. When the error dialog box opens, it displays the name of the process. For example, if the dialog box appears and tells you the dll error:

    STEP 2: STOP THE PROCESS

Often, you can locate the Dll of enforcement in the services of the exe. You can open your services configuration by following the instructions below:
    1. open your Start menu.
    2. click on run
    3. in the command screen type:services.msc
    4. This will bring to the top of the window Management of the Services . If you drag the mouse to one of the services. It will give you a detailed explanation of the service in question. By right-clicking the individual service.
    5.stop the "dll" service immediately.

NOTE: sometimes the dll process can not be stopped by this method.

STEP 3: CHECK FOR AND REMOVE

You need to open your Windows registry file system. It is an extremely delicate process. The registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > RUN

This action will help you speed up the considerable load time of your applications. Here's how:

    1. click on Start
    2. click on run
    3. type regedit
    4. find this registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > RUN

    5. in the right section click on: "rusvdgpo" = "%System%undll32.exe % System%usvdgpo.dll, [RANDOM LETTERS].
    6. delete the value and reboot.

    SPECIAL REMARKS

Rundll.exe is a critical system process. However, there a great vulnerability is back, which makes it more prone to malicious purposes by an attacker allowing access to your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, personal data and Internet banking.

The Trojans are usually use this attack method to share a process that invites the other malware be more Trojan horses or other forms of spyware. The best defense is to keep your security up-to-date software and explain the process of rundll on your computer.

    ======================

More information is a lot to explain and resolve the problem.

Since it is a painful process for beginners, it is best to create a new user account and remove the error causing the user account.

Because not only it solves problems, there will be new user settings and the program files needed for the user account.

Once you are in the new user account, you can scan by using a program that synchronize with the server and check for virus/malware/spyware.

Could you be it someone please let me know if there are patches to get rid of this error, or get the update to pass by? Thank you!

    Hello

You are able to install some other updates?

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

    Method 1: Run the fixit.

The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

Method 2: Run the clean boot and install the updates.

To do this, follow the steps in this link:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

NOTE: After you check the clean boot feature configure Windows to use a Normal startup using step 7 proposed in the above mentioned link.

If the method above does not work, proceed to the next method.

Method 3: download and install the Cumulative update for Media Center for Windows Vista (KB982480) from this link.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=6256

If the method above does not work, proceed to the next method.

Method 4: Rename the Software Distribution folder.

Rename the temporary Windows Update Software Distribution folder. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an administrative command prompt window.
    2. Run the following commands and press ENTER after each command:
      1. Net stop wuauserv
      2. CD %SystemRoot%\System32
      3. Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
      4. Net start wuauserv
    3. Try to install updates again.

Important: When you use this method, the following problems occur:

    ·         Updates that are currently downloaded but which have not yet been installed must be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    ·         When you remove the Software Distribution folder, your download history is deleted.

    ·         If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and Windows Update, you will need to reselect this option from the Windows Update Web site.

Note If the problem is resolved and you can successfully download and install the updates, you can safely remove the SoftwareDistribution.old folder to recover disk space.

    I hope this helps!

Error code 0 x 80070005 usually indicates that you don't have enough privileges or the operation is blocked. I know, some programs (Boot Camp on a Mac PC, etc.) is not compatible with Windows 7, if you have installed these programs on the computer, you may not be able to perform the upgrade.  You should uninstall these programs before upgrading. In addition, such a question may be related to UAC, I recommend you turn off UAC in Windows Vista, if you have installed security software, try uninstalling the security application as well.

I tried to uninstall Silverlight and reinstall it using Revo Uninstaller Pro and still, I get the same error message. You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Lisa

samcli.dll is associated with Security Accounts Manager Client and not with Silverlight.

Download this dll from here: -.

    http://www.dllme.com/dll/files/samcli_dll.html

Now, replace the dll file that is corrupted with the dll file you downloaded here: -.

    C:\Windows\System32

[Note: it is a hidden file, so you must enable Show hidden... files]

  • Windows 7 disk management utility does not allow the creation of simple volume:

    Hello

I used the Windows 7 disk management utility to reduce my about 450 GB C drive at about 210 GB. While I try to convert the volume unallocated resulting in a new simple volume, it fails with an error message indicating the space is insufficient on the disk (s) to complete the operation. The original disc was almost empty, while I performed the shrink operation. What is the problem here?

Try one of the two utilities listed below. I think you will find they work better.
