  At the first visit Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check what are the operating systems are supported for your model of laptop.

  I thinkyou can install Vista or Win 7 32 bit. No more than that.

  Hi all!

  I got a X 220 tablet from a friend and I am very happy with my tablet.

  The only question that I have makes crazy me and I do not understand is that I have no capabliity touch only through work of wacom pen.

  The same issue was with pro preinstalled windows7, windows8 update, I did after getting the laptop.

  Is it possible that my X 220 Tablet has a panel that only works with wacom pen or I have it is a software problem so I can solve it by installing and I got the finger touch capability.

• XPS 8700, out-of-box speaker 5.1 audio problems

  I had ongoing audio problems since the purchase of my XPS 8700 8.1 desktop system of 64-bit Windows on January 15 and set up with my speaker Altec Lansing 5.1 system existing. The strangest thing happens when I play audio from different sources.

  When I use YouTube programs and music of Windows, Dell MaxAudio Audio Pro software plays audio perfectly thanks to 5.1 speakers. But, when I listen to music via iTunes or try to watch a movie from a DVD factory in my factory installed DVD player, the audio plays through my two front speakers.

  In addition to the issue with my 5.1 speakers, I have constant audio noise/hiss through my speakers. But, it is stranger than most of the time when I move my mouse quickly, I can hear the movement of the mouse in my speakers. The 'mouse noise' is minimal, but you can certainly hear coming from the speakers.

  I spent the greater part of the past month trying to find a solution to these problems - especially the sound of hissing sound coming from my speakers and iTunes music only 2 front speakers and not my sub or rear speakers (sometimes audio will be same break in iTunes).

  I had no chance whatsoever to find a "fix for the problem of iTunes/5.1 speakers, so I'd appreciate any help on this. About whistling noise emitting speakers, here's what I what I met so far, but I have yet to try it (this solution came from Google):

  SOLUTION: Go to the Realtek site (www.realtek.com.tw) > click on downloads in main menu > click on High Definition Audio Codecs (software) > accept the advice > download 64-bit Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1 driver only. Version R2.73. I clicked and downloaded the link US2: 64bit_Win7_Win8_Win81_R273.exe (103MB). I then ran the installation program which required two reboots to install completely.

  ITS OWN PURE! The hiss is now gone when listening with my speakers. Moreover, the Dell Audio MAXX Audio Pro, which is delivered on the Dell XPS works always. I don't know what hidden feature, I could have lost, but I consider that it is resolved.

  Someone has already tried this solution but who has experienced similar problems than me? I hate to be "Jackin ' ' autour with new software download and edit the factory specifications on my brand new computer. But I want my computer to work properly with my 5.1 system speakers, which worked well with my previous Dell desktop computer which was in the process of Windows 7.

  One last question, can someone please clarify for me if the Dell Audio MaxAudio Pro software is a product of Realtek? I sent a support one or twice with the solution (Google) I listed above, but nothing but crickets from Realtek Realtek. Customer service poor, to date.

  It is their integrated (Realtek ALC3861 audio 7.1) product with an overlay software from Dell. So yes, you must use their site to get the latest audio driver. Our driver is very old, 20/11/13. I used the same audio driver of detail on my Alienware X 51. Works very well. I added instructions in the FAQ.
  * Go to the top of the Audio card to the desktop computer
  * Open Desktop Audio FAQ
  Open the Office PC Audio drivers
  * Read "Update Realtek HD Audio"

• Dell XPS 18, Windows 8.1 using fixed headphones hissing, update the driver Realtek!

  I solved my problem and I wanted to just document here in case someone else goes through this. Just got my new 'giant tablet to the search"Dell XPS 18 last week. He loved until I decided to use my Bose headphones to listen to SiriusXM. I bagged just about up to return the XPS when I hear a constant hissing sound coming through the headphones. So I tried to listen to something on Youtube, and even with the muted Youtube audio, I even heard a shrill whistle.  Naturally, when energy saving, kicking because none audio wasn't playing, everything went quiet, but the whistle came right back as soon as any sound played through the headphones.

  The ATTEMPT FAILED: as more irritable geeks, I did an uninstall driver full audio drivers. Then I downloaded the drivers from the Dell Support Web to ensure site I had later and did a reinstall with a few reboots. Not surprisingly, I always understood that annoying hissing static coming through the headphones. Then I found somewhere a mention to go to Realtek.

  What I suggest you do is download Windows 8 and create a bootable on a Flash DRIVE or DVD you can do an offline installation. Although the wizard upgrade of Windows 8 is the first download before to actually copy the files.

  You can uninstall the proposed components that affect the download installation files.

• I went from Windows7 for Windows8 and lost my internet connection wireless

  When I upgraded to Win7 for Win8, I can no longer connect to wireless internet.  The network I was logged on Win7 is always displayed.  I can't get to the part where I type in a security code for the network.  I went through all shooters wrong and still cannot connect wirelessly.

• How to set my Windows7 to Windows8.1 - Tecra Z50-A-15W

  can someone help me with the procedure for updating my win7 oem 8.1 victory that was bundled with the laptop? I tried to boot from the first dvd and it has only option to recover the laptop, removing everything. I wonder isn't there a standard upgrade of windows that affects only the files of the OS and that preserves the accounts, passwords etc?

  According to specification for laptop, your laptop has been preloaded with Win7 64 bit and Win8.1 facilities DVD. Before you whatever it is is Win7 backup and create a recovery of Win7 (DVD or USB) media.

  I put t have this model of laptop but if I understand the situation right Win8.1 DVD you got is installation disk that you can use for any new installation Win8.1. With other words, it is not a upgrade disk that you can use to upgrade Win7 preinstalled.

  Create recovery media Win7, save all your all of your important data and use the Win8.1 recovery disk to the new installation of Windows.

  Both versions that you got with your machine are activated and you do not need key Windows product. By the use of another version Toshiba has nothing to do with it and you should obtain and purchase the valid product key.

  SECURE BOOT to DISABLE

  Big step forward... BUT while the PC will now boot from the CD drive and start installing Windows 7 (harrah) keyboard USB and mouse are disabled... oh no... It is therefore impossible to proceed with the installation as can not support on enter to confirm implementation of Windows 7 issues.

  That certainly makes my head in.... Please can you advise how to get the USB keyboard and mouse re-activated?
