When you try to install the update for Visual Studio 2008 (KB952241) security on my Windows 7 (version - obtained from the beginning for the Lauch Windows 7 Group), I get the error: WindowsUpdate_dt000, WindowsUpdate_80070643. Ideas?

Click on the Fix Meto reset to be done immediately.

Once the Windows Update components are reset, try to reinstall updates. To do so,

1. open Windows Update by clicking Start , all programsand then click Windows Update.

2. click on the option to change the settings in the left navigation bar. You will now be on a screen where you will be able to set up how Windows Vista download and install updates on your computer.

3. Select updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. When you have finished setting options that you want, press the OK button to save these settings. You will now be at the main screen of Windows Update.

4. in the left pane, click check for updates, and then wait while Windows searches the latest updates for your computer.

5. you can then download the updates one or both.

6. click on install updates to install the updates that are currently selected.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you get all the updates you want on your PC.

    -kb2656409 is the "day of security for .NET framework 3.0 SP2 on Windows Vista SP2".

    Admin account.
    Safe mode.
    Disk Cleanup utility.

    -C' is the only one I get this same error message over and over again for.
    -Windows Vista SP2.
    -3 GB of Ram.
    -168 229 GB of free space.

  • Win updates fail in Windows 7 x 64 RTM - code 80070643

    Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 RTM (Partner Program), 8 GB RAM, Core2Duo 3.16 GHZ

    I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, then loaded Office Enterprise 2007.
    When I then tried to do a Windows Update, WU said there were 20 updates (all MS Office associate), but all of the updates fail every time with "Code 80070643.
    By examining the log "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" file, each updates is listed as 'the update is not allowed to download due to regulations.
    I have found no resolution on all KB article.
    Anyone run into this and found a solution yet?

    Glad to know things return to normal. Its possible it is a unknown corruption, but you should be able to use the automatic updates after rebooting your system.     My machine keeps suspended running windows 8.1 and Manager tasks indicates windowsupdate.exe current program of running at almost 100%
    When I check its properties is in the folder users/app data/roaming/firefox

    Theis is a real issue and it is the real program or do I have a virus/trojan.

    Hello spectra7045, %appdata%\Mozilla should contain your profile firefox real data - as far as I know %appdata%\firefox is not used by firefox or shouldn't be there. I would try to rename/delete that directory and running a full scan of your system with various other security such as the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleanertools.

    No direct access to the internet in my company (private IP, no NAT) network.
    You must use Proxy (squid).
    IE or Firefox can authenticate proxy without problem but WindowsUpdate always stops with error 8024401 b
    (ofc I use username/password correct data)

    Have you tried to run Windows update when you are not at work?  It appears that if the desktop proxy server can block this site from non-domaine PC.  You must try to use normal Windows Update of an internet connection to check that it works.  Once you have discovered that it does not work, contact your IT Department at your office and ask them to open access to your laptop.
