Hello spectra7045, %appdata%\Mozilla should contain your profile firefox real data - as far as I know %appdata%\firefox is not used by firefox or shouldn't be there. I would try to rename/delete that directory and running a full scan of your system with various other security such as the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleanertools.

    Markos15,
Have you tried to run Windows update when you are not at work?  It appears that if the desktop proxy server can block this site from non-domaine PC.  You must try to use normal Windows Update of an internet connection to check that it works.  Once you have discovered that it does not work, contact your IT Department at your office and ask them to open access to your laptop.

  • Meeting with WindowsUpdate 80072EE2

I meet WindowsUpdate_80072EE2 when I use the windows update system.  I have already applied the necessary changes to the firewall without success

      • If you receive a Windows Update updates error80072ee2, you may need to add the addresses of websites which Windows Update downloads updates to the exceptions to your firewall or 'green list '.

To add the Windows Update Web sites to a firewall exceptions list

        • Windows Firewall ships with this version of Windows and should already include these sites in the exceptions list. If you are using another firewall, see Help for the software publisher to see how to add these websites to your firewall exceptions list:

  • "WindowsUpdate 80070005" Windows update error

I followed the suggestions and nothing worked. I've done the following with the last thing that I have tried to point 4.
Is there a combination of the below, which must be followed for Windows download did not work since December?
I think to remove Explorer and put it back?  What do you think?

Surely Microsoft would like us to quickly fix this error because it does not show them in a good light.  I mean you download an update and Vista is back with another error.

We're told because than Vista (and it seems any product microsoft) is not properly checked before release, then we users have to put up with all the lost time trying to correct errors.

    Individually, I have:

    1. I checked that I am the administrator.

    2. I tried closing all my firewall and all the protection against the Virus and then tried Windows update without result.

    4 see suggestion at http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/a9a2c92d-793b-4050-bdb1-720bb97bd78d

    3. I even tried (and then when it doesn't work I turned it all as it was):
    http://www.Vistaheads.com/forums/Microsoft-public-windowsupdate/180872-error-code-80070005-Windows-Update-Vista-Premium.html

I have a Support technique IMed HP... Here is the solution, it is relatively
simple and more importantly, it works!

    1. disable Windows Update
    a. click on start
    b. click on all programs
    c. click on accessories
    d. click on Run
    e. type services.msc and press ok
    f. right click on "Windows Update"
    g. click on stop (Windows Update is now disabled)
    2. rename software

Here's another thread on this error message you might want to consider - there several proposed solutions: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistasetup/thread/61ce9777-aaac-41b5-ac02-eae76759d1d3/.

If this isn't answering your question, please report it in the Forum for updates to the: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads.  I don't know that someone will be happy to help you with your problem to update more tan.

  • No WindowsUpdate in Program Files, cannot install, error 80050005

Using Vista on a HP Pavilion, cannot access windows update from the control panel or from the browser. WindowsUpdate as a program file does not exist, and I get an error code 80050005 when I try to find updates from a browser or from the control panel.  AutoCorrect program download but does not work, and the malware research program research all computer fortunately without finding the hijackers. God only knows where my installation disc is - it is a real estate brokerage house, not home.  Strangely, there is a long list of updates, from 2010, but the sign says 'never' for the update.  Any suggestions?  TIA

    Hello

I suggest you try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to reset the Windows update components and then try to install the updates.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 2:

If the problem persists then configure your computer boot and then try to install updates.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • Unable to connect to any URL with the "WindowsUpdate" string in it, on any server. Again maybe virus?

OK, some background on me, just to avoid some types of questions: I'm not an expert in huge windows, but I use it as my office like a bit of a user with power for 10 years, and I've been a professional Unix administrator since almost 15 years; I'm paid to know my way around computers.

Computer of my nephew, I work remotely via TeamViewer, knows a problem really incredibly strange.  No matter what the URL with "WindowsUpdate" or similar to get connection reset by peer, in IE and FireFox, and apparently in Windows Update too because he can't actually update anything.

So fine, virus; Well, Yes, there has been a lot of virus, but they are all had: S & D of Spybot, AdAware and Avast all say that it is clean.  The last time I ran TrendMicro Housecall it crashed, but I saw him more than halfway done and he had not found anything like that or the other.

It cannot be something simple as a parameter of weird registry or hosts file entry, because it is sensitive to the context and occurs with any server.

Let me explain: when he started to arrive, I thought it was a Windows Update problem specifically. If it is not; This computer can't see http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&tid=fb0ddab0-e9a0-4edc-b3ea-144ff14190b3&cat=&lang=&cr=&sloc=&m=1&p=1, for example, in a browser, apparently because of this "windowsupdate" in there...  But I didn't know that I went and grabbed a update WindowsUpdate manually, and pasted on my server.

It's when things are weird; It's my server, it has nothing to do with MS, and it serves many users every day very well.

On my nephew's computer, I get connection reset by peer for this:

    http://teddyb.org/~rlpowell/public_media/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe

    and this:

    http://teddyb.org/~rlpowell/public_media/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.zip

but NOT the same exact zip file renamed, like this:

    http://teddyb.org/~rlpowell/public_media/harmless.zip

I assure you, that these two last URL points to exactly the same data (the .exe in a zip file above).

So the problem seems to actually be URL with the text "windowsupdate" in them, which seems like it should be a piece running of malware to apply, or something like that, but... really doesn't seem like it.

Normally, I'd just like to fix it, but this case is so bizarre that I think that I really want to figure it out, too.  Maybe it's the sign of a new virus or something?

    Hello

I ran into the same issue and finally I was able to remedy. I used ComboFix utility, you can find it here . He found only one problem in my system associated with dmio.sys.

Here's the line of the log file:

Infected copy of c:\windows\system32\drivers\dmio.sys was found and disinfected

And now everything works as expected

    Hello

Since a few days the process "svchost.exe (netsvcs)' ('wuauserv' service) is non-stop runing on my laptop Windows 7 SP1 Dell. He constantly uses 12% of my CPU and makes noise with the cpu fan.

    I tried to:

    - Reset the Windows Update components (it resets the history, but my problem is still there)

    - use the tool File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files (no error found)

    - perform a boot in Windows (no change of behavior)

    - Difficulty of Windows Update errors by using the DISM tool / system update readiness (CheckSUR.log is clean: "seconds executed: 287.") No error detected')

In the CBS.log newspaper, I see these two errors that is repeated from time to time among other lines of INFORMATION:

In windowsupdate.log, I found these errors:

  • Windows 7: key of registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/policies/Microsoft/Windows/WindowsUpdate to =

I have Windows 7.   When an update has been installed a few months back, I noticed that the '10 Get window' has been installed.  its icon in the taskbar appeared and the icon brings to the top of the query window 10.   I've read quite a bit about 10 and decided to wait a while.

Reading a Windows newsletter today to win 10, I was curious to see what has been described and using REGEDIT, went to the key of the object by the article.  But the key WindowsUpdate no is not in this way (I found others in the other paths)

I got no error msgs, I checked the log of Update window and it shows the updates installed 12/11/15, so the updates work...

I googled this key path and the answers indicate that he needs get auto updates?  I seem to be bringing!

(YES, I took care and re-checked the path by the keys more than once...)  WindowsUpdate does not appear in this political track)

What is the key of WindowUpdate under the policies for?  And why are missing on my system?  Should I have it?

A I misunderstood the article and responses from websearch?

I read there is a program that can reset the registry after an error saying missing keys...  But I got no error msgs and I am reluctant to run a registry modification of program when the alarm never rang.

    Thank you

    Bob K.

I've read quite a bit about 10 and decided to wait a while.

-> What is your real goal, to get Windows 10 or wait?

I read there is a program that can reset the registry after an error saying missing keys.

-> There are several record so-called "cleaners". Demand for cleaning/repair/speed up the registry. They all snake oil. Either they make no difference at all or they to serious damage.
