Wingdings in FMv12 vs FMv7

Why FMv12 not manage my legend do the same thing as FMv7?

FMv12 (and v7) under Win7 pc.

With the help of Wingdings and symbol font families for the Types of chips in a list not numbered.

The symbol of the ball is editable via a parameter of the attribute in the Structure and context rules in ESD.

My file works fine in FMv7, to include changing the ball at a chevron, asterisk.

However, in FMv12, the same file does not display the correct symbol, even for an ordinary ball, which uses the police Symbol. The symbol he shows will change with each attribute value, but the symbol is never the right pair.

Closing the file, save/Yes or Save/no and then open again in FMv7 and everything works fine.

Why FMv12 not manage my legends do the same thing as FMv7?

Thank you

Dave

From FM8, FM uses the encoding unicode instead of the FrameRoman when dealing with fonts. You must use the unicode encoding of the values for the desired glyph fonts you have available.

There is a utility available in the menu character mapping: file > utilities > character... Palette

  • How can I get Firefox to load the font "Symbol" and "Wingdings"?

    My 8.0.1 version doesn't have a 'symbol' or the fonts 'Wingdings' listed and when I visited my html document these characters end up using the Arial font. I have the documents with a lot of less-than-and-equal, more-than-and-equal and a crowd of other symbols, and wingdings characters. IE9 works very well. Chrome has the same problem that Firefox has.

    You have not been able to do in Firefox since Firefox 2, and even in this case, you may need to change Firefox, so while you might change your Firefox would not very many Firefox users who could use them.

    All the browser support unicode, but all the unicode fonts are not the same size and no machine each of them will not in all fonts. If they are your own documents, you will need to convert yourself. Most of what you need, you can probably obtain directly from this page

    If not, you can check the links at the top of this page.
  • Police Wingdings 3 is no longer an Option in LabVIEW 2015

    My company just put update 2015 of Labview.  In a number of legacy VI, Wingdings 3 police was used to display the up and down arrows.  Use an image to display the arrows is not an option and Alt Codes display in the form of '?'.

    If I highlight text, drop-down list box displays font Wingdings 3, but is no longer an option to select in the menu dropdown.  Please tell me that I should not edit every VI that has used this font.

    Wingdings 3 do not appear on the list of fonts for my installation of LV2015, but the police disappeared from the c:\Windows\Fonts directory.

    I copied the Wingdings 3 police in this directory from another machine and it appeared instantly in the drop-down list of LV (without having to close and restart).

  • The file names changed in wingdings, including the file extension and I can't delete, change them, open, etc. Here are the pictures.

    Have (had) a file with multiple files it contains with pictures in each file.  A week ago the pictures were there.  Now, the names are replaced by wingdings as names and file extensions.  When I try to open it, it is not accessible and that the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.  When I try to delete it, it says that the file name you specified is invalid or too long and specify a different name.  When I try to rename it, it tells me that if I change the file name extension, the file may become unusable.  If I try to change anyway, it says I've specified file name is not valid or too long.  Only tried for the name 1.  I did a restore in the case where a program interfered with that.  However, nothing has changed.  All of the suggestions.

    You can download and try to delete the file Unlocker http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtmlwilh.  Although it is not designed for this particular circumstance, it may very well work in all cases, as it has been very successful in a wide variety of situations are not specifically highlighted in the directions (where do not work the normal Vista options).  NOTE: Some antivirus flag programs this program as a malware, but it is a 'false positive' and is safe to use perferctly.  My own software to flag, but several other well-known software products it clean and the warning is included in the documentation of the program.

    I wish there was a way to save the images, but at this point, it seems that the only option is to delete because you can't rename files EHF (if this option is available-I hope that work above).  Unfortunately, System Restore does not affect the files of data, so even if a program caused this, System Restore can eliminate the cause, but it would not restore the files to their previous names.

    If you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky because they retain the files called snapshots http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Previous-versions-of-files-frequently-asked-questions.  It can be used to recover previous versions of files that have been changed or deleted accidentally.  Here's how: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx.

    If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, you don't have a shadow, but there is a free program for you that does essentially the same thing called Shadow Explorer: http://www.shadowexplorer.com/.  I suggest that you download and implement as soon as POSSIBLE to protect you if you accidentally delete or modify a file.  It will not help you in this instance, but it can help save the next time.

    I'm more concerned about why this has happened in the first place and prevent it from happening again.  I saw file names change before, but never of wingdings which then do not let you open, edit, delete, or rename.  We will check some of your system files: go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

    Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  If you find any these corrupted files, try to post them here.  Maybe we can replace the good files on the disc.

    While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

    If this does not work, then please post repetitive errors in Event Viewer about the name change (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

    If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work - but it will probably not fix your renamed files.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

    I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
  • Cannot return to normal font Wingdings
    I wrote a test and I wrote it in the police "wingdings" so that no one could read what I typed. I saved the document and he said a few hours later and when I try to restore the police to something I read, all the words are transformed into small boxes reopened. I went very far in my testing, and I really hope that there is a way to recover.
    Hi  Jakabo27  ,
    I tried idea ppt and Outlook and both worked perfectly. Thanks for the tips.
  • I want to rename the files using wingdings
    I don't know that you can do without changing the default fonts of the WHOLE system, which is a bad idea, REALLY REALLY.
  • Flash cannot produce wingdings on Vista machine?
    Several months ago, I created several flash files that use a checkmark wingdings.  Recently I had to update these files, and each of them now appear as equivalent to Arial (u-umlauted).  It shows that the umlaut in FLA and SWF.  Selecting the u unlauted, looking at properties confirms that the police is set to wingdings.  Copy of a check mark of wingdings off another app and paste it into Flash, it replaces immediately for the umlaut.  In fact, change to any font just makes a slightly different umlaut.  The simple question is, ' what has changed between when he worked, and when he's not? ' and the answer is that I'm not sure.  This is the same installation of Flash, the same machine, same OS, etc.
    I tested with their colleagues.  Those who open the same exact file on XP machines see the check mark.  Those who open the same exact file on other Vista machines see umlaut.  I have an XP machine on my left and a Vista computer to my right, and I see a check mark both an umlaut off the coast of Florida even
    I tried Googling help and I see a few reports of the present.  It always seems to involve Vista machines, but Vista was not yet considered (that I saw) as the culprit.  Suggestions usually emphasize Wingdings is not being installed, or the need to incorporate the police, etc.  With the process of elimination, that we used, Vista actually seems to be the antagonist here.
    We can fix it pretty easily... have someone with XP manage the publication, or the check mark bitmap, etc..  But I wonder if anyone has come across this or know what aspect of Vista does not play well with Flash?
    THX!
    If you have not incorporated the police into the textfield (s), then you should.
  • Cannot display a star Wingdings in Flash
    I have a text box where there should be a rating from 1 to 5 stars for a movie, so I used the symbol Star (0xAB character code) of the symbol of the Wingdings font. But instead of stars, what I get is angular quotes in Arial, the character in a normal text font:
    In fact, each Wingding character above 0x80 (included) is displayed in Arial instead of Wingdings. This seems also occur with all fonts of symbols.
    I also did Wingdings as a symbol of the police, but the problem still happens. It also happens in static text boxes.
    To reproduce do it just error, one text box, and then assign the Wingdings police. Now, type something and it shows in Wingdings, but press ALT + 0171 (or copy the star from the character map application) and instead of a star, you get the angular quotes.
    Hi jedikalimero,.
    I apologize on behalf of everyone here who has tried to offer advises you and got angry with you because they said that you were not doing in law.
    You were!  They are all wrong, and it is a problem with Flash.
    The problem with other peoples messages is that they read your question and has never really attempted to reproduce and just thought that you were not incorporating the police - who you were!  Each of you out there who think that incorporation is the issue, you are WRONG, and you must do EXACTLY what we tried to do.  It does NOT work.
    Here is a clumsy solution I found.  Type your character in Illustrator, convert type to outlines and then copy and paste into Flash and it will work.  Good luck!
    I use textLayout.swc in flex 3 Bulider (SDK3.4Ver)
    This manual, although old (i.e. FrameMaker 7), either the official Adobe one. He will probably tell you what you need to know:
    Customizing Adobe FrameMaker-
    If this is not the case, try some of the other results of a search for "Customize framemaker:
    Some of them include content for newer versions.
  • Problem with some fonts of symbols after the installation of the Sierra
    Hello
    I have recently upgraded the OS on my iMac late 2012 for Sierra, since doing so, I noticed a problem with several fonts.
    All symbolic symbols Apple to Wingdings fonts not correctly displayed in the font book. Apple symbols looks like a standard wheelbase of san, and other symbolic fonts just show as question marks '?' where the images should be.
    In text editing, that I can't even see the symbolic fonts like Zapf Dingbats and Wingdings in the selector. However, they all work well in Adobe Illustrator (CS5) and Microsoft Word 2011. Apple symbols still looks like a standard font.
    I already tried the following:
    1. check the fonts in font book
    2 fix the duplicates in the font book
    3. using the "Restore Standard fonts" option in the font book
    4 deleting a file in the folder Preferences plist Fonts
    5 deleted the cache of police and the database
    I'm out of ideas. Has anyone else had the same problem found a fix?
    Kind regards
    Greville
    I'm just to add that I used the recovery partition to do a clean install of Sierra on a hard drive external and then booted into it to see if it had the same problem.
    And he does. Wingdings and other photo fonts appear as '?' in boxes where the letters must be in the font book.
    So this seems like a problem with the way Sierra displays these fonts, not with the font files themselves.
  • problems with special fonts
    I was wondering the best way to deal with the non-standard fonts used in a project CVI?  I have an application that uses the "SWAstro" font for the up and down arrows as indicators in a table of the CVI.  When you run the executable file on a computer that has installed the CVI, the arrows appear very well.  On computers that don't have the CVI run time engine installed, the arrows simply show upward in the form of vertical bars.
    Is it possible to have my program to install a font, if it is needed?  I'm better off everything including the font with the executable file and having the user install themselves separately?  I tried to find a more generalized windows font that a up and down arrows, but the ones I found (like Wingdings 3) doesn't seem to be available in CVI.
    Thanks in advance for the help!
    Hello
    You may not be able to set the font as "Wingdings 3' of the IUR Editor, but it is possible from the code.
    Here's a simple example. It defines the label for a control on the symbol corresponding to the key 'a' on the keyboard.
    You just have to find the right key for the symbol you want.
    SetCtrlAttribute (NLP, ctrl, ATTR_LABEL_FONT, "wingdings 3");
    SetCtrlAttribute (NLP, ctrl, ATTR_LABEL_TEXT, ' a');
