WinHelp32.exe download Windows 7

I am trying to download a fix so I can open the help files on my windows 7

Hi Eva,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

As described, cannot open file WinHelp32.exe.

This problem may occur because of the incompatibility.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

I can't open the help that was created in Windows Help format (WinHlp32.exe)

  • Installation of WinHelp32.exe on Windows 8 Pro

I am installed WinHelp32.exe on Windows8 Pro (64-bit). I go to the Microsoft support site and download:

    Windows8-RT-KB917607-x 64.msu.

On a double click to install I get the message "this update is not applicable to your computer.

    Any suggestions?

    Retired2006

On Windows 8 x 64, I also want to access a file using an old application I use every day. I found the same problems and the same solutions above worked for me-

Problem 1 - Windows8-RT-KB917607-x 64.msu refuses to install with the message "this update is not applicable to your computer".

Solution 1 - get the old winhlp32.exe to http://www.eightforums.com/software-apps/7540-winhlp32-exe-how-can-i-enable-legacy-windows-help-system-windows-8-a.html. Then, faced with...

Problem 2 - I'm impossible to rename or delete the stub of winhlp32.exe in \Windows, so cannot replace the winhlp32.exe legacy that could actually work

Solution 2 - follow the procedure given in http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/how-to-delete-a-system-file-in-windows-vista/ to appropriate \Windows\winhlp32.exe, rename and copy winhlp32.exe inheritance in. Windows. Result: old help file can now be read.

You can also - use of language of the control panel configuration/addition to install & enable English (United States) - took a time, required restarts, showed the error message (default in Windows), but finally worked. (NB. before restarting, make sure that you know how to enter special characters in your password on a US English keyboard.)

Then, with active American English, Windows8-RT-KB917607-x 64.msu installs and you get a more updated version of winhlp32.exe.

Windows8-RT-KB917607-x 64.msu is enabled only for users of the English (United States)? Looks like that the Microsoft quality control slipped seriously with Windows 8, particularly with the updates.

  • I downloaded Windows XP from the Windows Service Center. It is an exe file. How can I extract this to a disc and burn I can install it?

I downloaded Windows XP from the Windows Service Center. It's a .exe. When I click on it, it is extracted to a folder I called "xp". How can I obtain these data on a disk to install XP from a CD? Should what steps I take? I am running Windows 7.

original title: Burning a disk XP

Putting aside if the 64-bit version of XP is what you need, when you ran the exe, the file that was extracted (i.e., in the folder named "xp") should have been an ISO file.

Files ISO are CD images and are intended to be burned (NOT copied) to a writable CD.

Assuming that you have the correct hardware (CD burner), you can burn your ISO as described here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file

Note that what you downloaded is NOT "Windows XP Mode" which is available for use with Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition.  The image you uploaded is for installation on a separate computer (or in a dual-boot configuration) - assuming you have the required license keys.

  • HPBIOSUPDREC.exe in Windows PE 5.0 x 64

    Hello

I want to update the BIOS of my G1 to 850 HP Notebooks in my SCCM 2012 R2 task sequence. Please don't bother the stuff of SCCM, this post is the tool HPBIOSUPDREC.exe and Windows PE 5.0 x 64

    I tried to use the following command: HPBIOSUPDREC.exe - s - fL71_0121.bin - has

However, when I run this command or HPBIOSUPDREC.exe without parameters I get the following error Message:

original in German: "das zum necessary subsystem is not available. abbildtyps support.

in English: "the subsystem needed to support the type of image is not present."

I tried to boot into legacy mode / native UEFI, but the error appeared again.

The old tool Flash BIOS HPQFlash worked very well. HPBIOSUPDREC.exe is not yet supported in WinPE 5.0?

The SoftPaq to the G1 850 is missing from the 64-bit version of BIOSUPDREC64.exe.

The update of the BIOS for a Probook G1 650 contains the native 32-bit version (BIOSUPDREC.exe) and the native 64-bit (BIOSUPDREC64.exe) version.

Download the last update of the BIOS for the G1 650.  He is currently a SoftPaq sp67772.

To extract the contents, run the command

    sp67772.exe EI

This will extract the content, but in reality, will not attempt to install the BIOS.

The content will be located in the directory

    C:\SWSETUP\sp67772

This directory will contain two versions of the utility, allowing you to install the BIOS G1 850 by using the 64-bit version of 64 WinPVT.

    Hello

One of your antivirus programs? You should not have two or more on the computer much

  • duplicates wuauclt.exe & c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll (need both?)

    Hello
I am running xp pro sp3 with MSE (v. 1.77.1038.0). I had CATrust AV until a few weeks ago. I'm on a domain network. We have not required WU to run all the time.

I have issues with wuauclt.exe slow down my computer. All of a sudden, I hear the beginning of the computer running through the process and everything slows down. (5 minutes to open an email of 5 KB)

I * think * my problem is that there are 2 versions of wuauclt.exe & c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll on my computer. They appear as wuauclt.exe and wuauclt1.exe.  wuauclt1.exe and c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll files are version 5.8.0.2469.

Running the MSE analysis does not turn to the top of any spyware. I tried just to remove the old version, but they appear immediately as if the registry grows this version instead.

After reviewing the record, I see that everything related to Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate has two entrances:
    That is to say
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.update.AutoUpdate.1

Could this be the thing slow down my machine? If this is not the case, what would it be? If so how can I get rid of the duplicates offending (and shocking!)?
    Thank you
    Ian

I can assure you that Windows uses only the wuauclt.exe file now and it is quite normal to find a copy of wuauclt1.exe in %windows%\System32 <=this> .

It is quite normal to find wuauclt.exe in the Task Manager. Processes tab shortly after starting your computer and so he can be executed for 10 to 20 minutes later (especially if Microsoft Update [1] is your source of default update).

That being said, the current automatic updates of running in the background has not such a detrimental effect on performance (e.g., 5 minutes to open an email 5 KB) when it is executed, unless the computer is low on resources (low power).

See if the boot minimum technical troubleshooting help you nail that other background process could contribute to the slowdown.

I am now totally confused.  When the offer of free Windows 10 was first offered to me some time ago, everything seemed in order, but I wasn't ready to start downloading.

Now, I'm ready, but suddenly today I am told:
"Unfortunately, this PC is unable to run 10 widows because one or more things are incompatible" (see right for details.)

Then I right click and now I like: "Ce PC will work with Windows 10" contradictory to say the least

Keeps saying "is not compatible with:
    (1) Bluetooth HID Manager
(Bluetooth 2) VComm Manager IVT Corporation.

    I don't even use Bluetooth!

Urgent, please tell what should I do now?

I want to download Windows 10, but I'm stuck.

I'll be very grateful for your help.

    Try to upgrade manually:

If the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 10 becomes blocked or unresponsive to 99%, wait at least 4 to 7 hours. If the installation program does not progress, close the wizard and restart your computer. Follow the instructions to upgrade manually by using the tool of creation of media or file ISO for Windows 10.

If you encounter an error about enough space to perform the upgrade, see the instructions:
