WinXP downgrade - Pavilion 6258SE

Hello

I would come down to winxp in my 6258SE book, but I have a few questions before I try. I would be very happy if someone help me.

(1) known problems after donwgrading?

(2) where do I download the drivers? Are the drivers for your laptop compatible with 6258 SE?

(3) any other recommendation or advice?

Thank you in advance,

Mauro

You model is one of the easiest to downgrade. All the XP drivers are on DV6000Z. NVIDIA Chipset first with a reboot before other drivers. For audio, UAA MS with a reboot before Conexant.

Others that you need can be done in any order.

  • Wireless driver for Pavilion 6258se grew legs and walked away.

    Hello everyone,

If someone here could help me I would be very grateful.

I have a Pavilion 6258se which is well enjoy watching me uncomfortable as I try to fix its stupid wireless.

A few months ago, I downloaded something.  After you download something, my audio and wireless drivers have disappeared.  I managed to restore and get my driver of his return, but wireless was a no-go.  The orange/blue light remains orange and wireless cannot be enabled or disabled.

Yesterday, I finally off my lazy buttocks and connected my laptop to a cable outlet and downloaded the latest HP Wireless Assistant on this site.  And it worked! But after last night and turn it back on this morning, I am at the beginning with the wireless.

    It becomes really frustrating.

I also had the old "battery plugged in, not charging" bit yesterday, but after removing and reinserting the battery, it seems that everything is fine.

If someone could provide me with advice for a PERMANENT solution... it would be wonderful.  I refuse to take this laptop for geek team because they had two weeks once and never even open.  Other than we have that small local repair shops who try and rip you off...

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

Too bad Geek Squad doesn't know anything about laptops they sell. Your model is listed on the list of "known of hardware failures" and qualified free repair.

  • Pavilion DV6-3132TX WinXP downgrade

I have Dv6-2060ea with the same processor, but with a different graphics card. I used MS Virtual PC to install a virtual Windows XP and it works very well. You don't have to downgrade to XP. Just use the MS Virtual PC (it's free) or Virtualbox. It worked for me, even on linux.

There is no drivers for Windows XP on my machine. There is a guide for XP downgrade on this forum in the operating system section. Have a look at it...

  • Downgrade Pavilion 17-e060eg

    HY,

I want to downgrade 17-e060eg laptop computer Pavilion of Windows 8 for Windows 7.

I knew that all the thingt to do, but the drivers are the problem.

(I'll find them in pieces of material from manufacturing sites).

Are there other drivers who can work (of another model or something)?

    Thank you

Again, you must start using the CD/DVD internal UEFI or UEFI-USB key/disc to install Windows on a disk partitioned GPT. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

If you select a "Legacy Boot Device" or your bootable media is not UEFI enabled, Windows can be installed on a partitioned hard disk MBR. Please review and follow the instructions in my previous post.

    Hello:

You should be able to use all the W7 x 64 drivers for the HP Probook 450 G0.

If your model has the Realtek audio chip (support page of your PC watch bot drivers audio IDT and Realtek W8.1) and not the IDT audio chip and then use the driver Realtek HD audio from the link below.  Accept the agreement. Download and install the second on the list.

  • HP Pavilion 15-au063nr: Downgrade rights with HP Pavilion 15-au063nr

    Hello

First: No, you don't go to Windows 7 Pro because your machine has Windows 10 64 Home pre-installed:

Microsoft: Your case is not available.

  • HP Pavilion 15t_ab200: downgrade HP Pavilion 15t_ab200 Windows 10 PRO to Windows 7 PRO

Is it possible to downgrade my 15t_ab200 HP Pavilion of Windows 10 PRO to Windows 7 PRO?

I tried to look in security and recovery section, but there is no option "Go back to Windows 7. In addition, I see no Windows 7 driver for this particular laptop model.

I'm not familiar with Windows 10 in all. Help, please. Thanks in advance!

When you request support, please provide the model name and product number complete (p/n) of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the BIOS boot screen. Please see How can I find my model number or product number? for help more to find this information. DO NOT include your serial number.

    HP series "15 t-ab200", your computer uses a 6th generation Intel chipset called "Skylake. Intel, remove support USB 2.0 since the chipset Skylake, so normal DVD and USB Windows 7 install does not work on the 6th generation of Intel chipsets. You must add USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7 ISO using this utility Intel;

    ndows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25476/Wi

After running this utility and direct to your Windows 7 ISO, ISO/USB/DVD that results must be able to install Windows 7 on your computer.

    You will also need the bottom driver for Windows 7 see hard drive... Extract the files on another drive flash usb without all records;

    tel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driv https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25165/in...

You will have to perhaps install the bottom driver to make usable USB ports in Windows 7.

You need to ENABLE 'Secure Boot' and 'Legacy Support' in the BIOS before installing Windows 7. There may be other BIOS settings that need to be changed and you may need to provide USB and/or AHCI driver before the installation will proceed.

Many Windows 7 drivers for the Software page and the driver HP Pavilion Notebook 15 t - ab000 CTO (ENERGY STAR) - should work on your computer. Please do not use BIOS and download the firmware for this model.

Please post of Device Manager "Hardware ID" (just the text string will do) for these devices you are having problems with and all the others who are listed as missing or unknown devices as shown in the example below.

  • HP Pavilion desktop computer - 550-a209: have to downgrade HP Pavilion Desktop - 550-a209

I have a desktop computer HP Pavilion - 550-a209 I need 10 windows downgrade to windows 7 because of some problems of software compatibility to our office.

BUT I can only find win 10 drivers on the HP support site.
Any ideas on what I could do here?

    Vik808, welcome to the forum.

I did some research to see if I could find Win 7 drivers for your motherboard.  The APU/processor was released in 2015.  It has integrated video chipset.  The only drivers available are to win 10.  Therefore, I don't think that you will be able to upgrade to Windows 7.

  • Pavilion P6520F: downgrade windows 10 for windows 7 hp pavilion p6520f

As a upgrade middle-of-the-night involuntary Windows 10 occurred, Can not stop random reboots every 20 to 45 minutes.  I give up.  I know that there is an opportunity (allegedly) to downgrade to Windows 7 in the first 30 days, but I wanted to make sure that no quirks to do with my fairly old machine.  I find Windows.old on my hard drive and my external hard drive.

Everyone does this on a Pavilion P6520F or equivalent and advice?

    Hello @marionhouse,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post about the issue of upgrade and wanted to help you!  I understand that the office restarts every 20-45 minutes, and you are looking to downgrade back to the Windows 7 operating system.

If you decide to stay with Windows 10, you can try to solve the problem of reset, by examining the following document:

HP computers - the computer restarts unexpectedly (Windows 7)

If you're still having problems, then you should be able to use back to a previous generation option, in your system settings: HP Notebook PC - upgrade to Windows 10

As you say, this feature is only available for the first 28 days after the installation of Windows 10.  Once you return to your original operating system, check to see if you encounter the same problem.

Please let me know if this information helps you solve the problem by marking this message as 'accept as Solution', this will help others easily find the information they seek.  In addition, by clicking on the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thank you!

  • HP PAVILION 15-ab115la: Pavilion 15-ab115la: Downgrade Windows 10

    Hello

Last week, I bought a new HP Pavilion, it included 10 windows.

I used to work with Windows 7 and I'would like to downgrade 10 Windows to Windows 7, is it possible? y at - it a disvantages?

Is useful to mention that I have a legal key for Windows 7.

Additional, I know that the Windows 10 key is "embedded" in the BIOS, so if I downgrade to Windows 7, then return to Windows 10, the value of the key will not be required because it's inside the BIOS?

Or should I get the value with a tool?

    Thank you

You're not really downgrading, because Microsoft "Downgrade rights" apply only to Windows Pro/Business. You simply install another version of Windows on your computer. Yes, it's possible! Yes, there are drawbacks... like the lack of support of the HP drivers

Is useful to mention that I have a legal key for Windows 7.

You will need to use a key of unused valid PID and COA legally install Windows 7 on your new PC.

Additional, I know that the Windows 10 key is "embedded" in the BIOS, so if I downgrade to Windows 7, then return to Windows 10, the value of the key will not be required because it's inside the BIOS? Or should I get the value with a tool?

Using the HP recovery media you create before changing anything on the computer... you should have no problem to return the computer to a factory State, if you wish.

Decommissioning of the OS. Is this fair?

    I will definitely help you.

HP has never tested model you PC for Windows 7.

After that, it is very difficult to find drivers for all the internal hardware components on your PC from HP for Windows 7.

Without a driver, most of the internal components will not work. It causes a lot of inconvenience to help you.

But again, it is your choice of switching between the operating system that you have the PC.
