Wired-Marker or alternative for FireFox 3.6.13?

Wired-Marker download said only works with FireFox versions up to 3.6. Anyone know of an update for WM or a good alternative to highlight the text? TIA!

The page Add on ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wired-marker/ ) and the homepage of the developer ( http://www.wired-marker.org/en/index.html ) both indicate that it should be compatible with all Firefox 3.6 * versions including Firefox 3.6.13. The asterisk in * 3.6 refers to all versions of the series of Firefox 3.6.

• where are my controls for firefox

I updated firefox because all my apps to my yahoo toolbar apparently went to bit heaven or hell depending on the case. Now I can't find the menu for firefox that used to be in the upper left corner. I'm too old for this kind of shit!

From firefox 29, the user interface has been changed somewhat to make it easier to use and customize. As part of these changes, the menu has moved to the right.

You can learn how to use the design here: learn more about the design of the new Firefox version 29. If you have any other questions about the new design, please let us know. Alternatively, you can provide your comments to https://input.mozilla.org/feedback/firefox

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

• My profile is missing for Firefox does not open. How can I reset it then?

I've been using Firefox since one some time walking, but used a different browser as my main. Now that this browser is obsolete and there is no update available, I wanted to switch to Firefox permanently. Given that all my favorites are only updated on my old browser, I thought it would be much easier, simply uninstall and reinstall Firefox and automatically carried over to my favorites (since that first made some time ago). While looking up how to install it, I came across something that says that the bookmarks are stored in a 'profile' that had to be deleted to be reset. I followed the instructions to remove my profile, then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

NOW, I'm going to open my newly installed Firefox and a window pops up that says: "cannot load your Firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. »... Well, I wanted to start over completely, so of course I don't have a profile more. But my only option now is to click on this window, and Firefox disappears. No means to access anything whatsoever on Firefox, no options, no nothing so all of the so-called 'solutions' that I've seen (IE: reset the profile...) "I can't do that either!) It is impossible for me to do.

All I wanted to do was end of beginning completely with Firefox which seemed to be a very simple solution and has now turned into a chore and an unusable browser. How can I reset or create a new profile without being IN Firefox to do? Deleted my profile an error? If so, your help page is very misleading!

Someone please help. I really don't want to use a DIFFERENT browser.

Thank you!!

A possible/probable cause is a problem with the file profiles.ini and the profile marked as the default value = 1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.

• Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
• Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
• Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.

You can use one of them to make the Creation/use of a new default profile for Firefox:

• Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
• Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
• Use "Choose a folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile
• Where is Google Toolbar for Firefox 7.01 and Win 7 >

Nothing more to say. I want just the toolbar for Firefox 7.01. I have Windows 7,

Using an older version of Firefox is not the answer. Toolbar for Firefox is a dead project from Google. Also the problem of "compatibility" with versions of Firefox 5 +, Google has changed the address of connection for 'Accounts' last month which broke the functionality of automatic connection of toolbars from Google who once worked on older versions of Firefox.

The solution is to understand the features of the Google toolbar that you need and then look for alternative modules with the features you need.

• installation problems installing Flash 10.3 for Firefox Win7 32 bit _1.exe, 1_1.exe, etc.

I've had trouble instlaling Flash for Win7 32 bit for Firefox for some time now. I think that the problems started w/Flash 10.3. In the past, I had recourse to alternatives such as uninstalling Flash via Add/Remove programs then go to pages like http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to force the Flash to be installed. That does not work now that he's trying to recover 10.3.183.7 (not the most recent version: 10.3.183.10) and omitting.

Basically, my steps of reproduction are:

1. with Firefox (currently 3.6.23), visit http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ )

2 deselect Yes, install McAfee Security

3. click on download now, save the file

4. double click on install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih.exe in the downloads window

5. click on run, then Yes in the UAC dialog box

Result:

Hard drive stolen keeps thrashing, but Flash is not installed in the end. If we turn the Task Manager > processes tab, we'll see this chain of .exe basically being launched, and then go away. Basically, you will see the 1 .exe listed below, that goes, then the other and so on...

install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih_1.exe

install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih_1_1.exe

install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih_1_1_1.exe

install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih_1_1_1_1.exe

Currently in my E:\temp dir (which is what is on my TEMP environment var), I see install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_2_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_ 1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_ 1_1_1_1_1.exe and a few other copies in the United Kingdom.

I am obviously not the only one to hit that I see a mention in the http://PC-news.ldblog.jp/archives/51773493.html but no solution. (No I can't read Japanese.)

What is the right way to solve this problem?

Could you try the following steps to see if they help?

1. download uninstaller stand alone

2. close all browser windows

3. launch the uninstaller

4 restart your computer

5 remove the following folder, depending on your operating system:

• 32-bit Windows - c:\Windows\system32\macromed
• Windows 64-bit - c:\windows\syswow64\macromed

6. download and install Flash Player located here:

• How can I disable the bar advertising for Firefox iOS & Android?

I recently started to see a pop for Firefox iOS and Android advertising when I use Firefox on Windows 7. It takes the form of a notification, just bar below the URL bar read 'bring your bookmarks and passwords with you. Firefox is now on iOS and Android', with a 'Get it now' button and an 'x' to close right (see screenshot attached). I've closed more than once with the 'x' and it keeps popping up (perhaps only once per session, I don't know).

I would like to get rid of this annoying little announcement. I looked through: config and settings of the ordinary, but I have not been able to find a way to remove it. Adblock Plus doesn't help, of course, because the announcement seems to be integrated into the browser itself. Anyone know how to stop this thing nagging me everytime I open my browser?

Sorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.

To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value.

You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

• What is the future of the RHEL6 for firefox?

I was curious, so I downloaded firefox 44 from the server every night. It does not work on RHEL6. Which made me wonder how long firefox will continue to be available to RHEL6. I searched, but I can't find a future roadmap OS compatibility. Surely one exists, somewhere.

How long firefox will support RHEL6?

I can not answer, but I noticed that the system requirements for Linux usually is expressed by specific versions of libraries and packages.

So for Firefox 41:

• Firefox won't work at all without the following libraries or packages:
GTK+ 2.18 or higher
GLib 2.22 or higher
Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
libstdc++ 4.3 or higher

• For optimal functionality, we recommend that libraries or the following packages:
NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
DBus 1.0 or higher
HAL 0.5.8 or higher
GNOME 2.16 or higher

For Firefox beta (Firefox future, 42) there is a significant change for the first article:

• Firefox won't work at all without the following libraries or packages:
GTK+ 3.4 or higher
GLib 2.22 or higher
Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
libstdc++ 4.3 or higher

• For optimal functionality, we recommend that libraries or the following packages:
NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
DBus 1.0 or higher
HAL 0.5.8 or higher
GNOME 2.16 or higher

Developer Edition lists the same requirements as the Beta.

It is without doubt a similar list for every night, but the download pages are organized differently and I do not see.

Despite my constant removal of Yahoo in all search preferences, it keeps returning automatically to my defaul for Firefox search. Help, please! I hate Yahoo!

On Mac, this most commonly seems to be caused by Spigot or pipe modules, or something else that snuck in without being detected with other software that you downloaded.

Please try to disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

• CMD + SHIFT + a
• "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete). Especially if you find something called SearchMe.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Is that what helps you regain control?
