Wireless on dm4-1150ed

Today, I installed a card PCI-e intel 4965agn in port 1 of my laptop (dm4-1150ed), in replacement of the broadcom card which was in port 2. The computer does not recognize the card, it is not listed in Device Manager. Can someone help me get this card recognized and work? Any help is appreciated.

There is only a single port WLAN in the laptop. You must put the new card in exactly the same port as the original.

The shown map this image too dark can be a WWAN (cellular data) card. A wifi card must go to the port to the left where the gray card appears. It also means that you can only use a low-profile mini-pcie wireless card not a full size one.

Had to do a clean on a new dm4 install, after that it has been infected by viruses.  I installed from a stock disc Windows 7 home Premium, not a manufacturer OEM HP.

Currently having trouble getting wireless working network card.  I can't seem to make it appear like on when I install the drivers.  The LED button hidden in the F10 key now seems to work for the Bluetooth receiver and not the wireless.

This and a PCI controller communication are components of internal hardware, only that I can't find the drivers for, or at least to do work after installing the drivers.

Can someone help me get the wireless to work on this laptop?

    Hello:

Looking at the list of the WiFi cards supported in the service manual for your laptop, none seems very promising.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03318732

If I had to take a chance on one, I'd go for this one...

    Broadcom 4313GN 1 × 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 adapter 802.11b/g/n 20702 HP part # 657325-001

Change wireless laptop computers HP cards before 2014 can be a nightmare.

There is a BIOS whitelist, which prevents any wireless card not shown is not in the service manual for the work PC.

The PC does not even start until the wlan unsupported card is removed.

The next problem is that some of the numbers part contained in the maintenance manual is incorrect.

For example, the Intel 6230 registered has the wrong part # and no one knows which is the right one (or if the 6230 is even supported).

What I would do if I were you, would be to find an opportunity but tested and functional wlan on eBay card.

Query by part number and to control the image in the list to be sure see you the part number indicated on the white sticker entitled 'Replace with HP Spare'.

I see the Broadcom card I've referenced past as low as $4.35 + postage from Hong Kong.

They are a bit more expensive if you want one that is located in the USA.

    Hello:

You should see a device labeled network controller listed under other devices in Device Manager if necessary the driver wireless card.

    There is something wrong.

    1. the wireless card needs the HP Connection Manager software installed so it can be activated by using the software, then you should be able to install the driver or the Terminator post will be installed.

    HP connection manager

    File name: sp54945.exe

    2. the wireless card is bad and must be replaced, or must be removed and reinstalled because of an oxidized connection.

    3. the motherboard is bad.

Also install software quick launch to ensure that all Fn keys work correctly.  There's a chance outside that might be the problem, but I doubt it.

    ---------EDIT----------

I solved the problem. I went into the bios and seems that my wireless card is a Broadcom as the FCC ID presented themselves as QDS-BRCM1050... that Google identified as a Broadcom BCM94313HMG2L. However, HP does not have the correct drivers for this card on the site. Here is the link for the correct driver http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...s&lc=en&dlc=en. I also installed the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver and now my wireless works perfectly.

    Yes, you're right!

Or just type the first channel of the radio and then you can copy and paste the rest once you are connected to the internet.

  • Pavilion dm4 wireless indicator on keyboard

Since yesterday (13 months after purchase), the wireless light cannot be turned on.  I tried power off and restart.  It is more likely is a hardware issue or is there a driver that can be recharged?

I think to buy a USB unit to run the wireless function.

Looks like you're in a place named in a similar way, "devices and printers".

The support page for your laptop computer says you have Windows 7, is this correct?  If so click on the Start button and at the bottom of the start menu is a search box.  Type "Device Manager" in this field and press on enter and he will bring it to you.  Then you can see what is listed in the section "network adapters."

    I hope this helps!
