With regard to charmap.exe

Charmap.exe is currepted how can I re install charmap.exe under XP without disturbing the other program advice to me

Difficult to do! It is one of the files XP wants to protect from accidental deletion/corruption.

If you have a Microsoft XP installation CD you could do that.

Go to Control Panel - Add / Remove Programs, click Add/Remove Windows components, check accessories and utilities is highlighted (click on it if not), double click on the details, uncheck the box Character Map, click OK twice and click next to remove the table of characters.

Repeat the process but this time tick to select character map. During this phase, you will be asked to insert the XP installation CD. If all goes well, this should re - install Character Map.

Get your protection against malwares to day and do a full scan.

There are several ways to achieve this. Perhaps the simplest is to simply catch Exception as std::exception const &, or one of its derivatives, then call what(). However, if you want to use the specific exception hierarchy richer consistency, you can get the equivalent of the what() result by calling getDescription()-> getCString(). With regard to the rankings largely what types of exceptions are "fatal", which would be RuntimeException and its derivatives, but the scope which it was caught in general is going to be more telling.

I just did a check of norton power Eraser which revealed that I have a problem with the file ntsd.exe. Does anyone have suggestions about what to do to fix it? Thank you very much.

    Hi JohnABuckley,

    • Are you facing any problem on the computer?

Ntsd.exe is a process belonging to the Microsoft symbolic debugger that lets you debug applications in user mode.

As the link below, it says that there is a risk that Norton Power Eraser can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should carefully review the analysis results page before deleting the files. I suggest that you don't delete the file unless you are facing problems with the computer.

    Hi Julie,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

I'm sorry to know that you can not upgrade to Windows 8.1. Let me help you with the question.

What is the exact full error message that you receive?

It seems that some system files are corrupted or computer infected by a virus. I suggest you follow these methods and see if it helps:

    Method 1:

First, run us a virus scanner.

Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Important: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Method 2:

Scan the System File Checker (SFC) and then try to download the programs. Scan SFC replaces the system corrupted files with the original version of the Windows files on the computer.  Now, you can switch to Windows 8.1

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows on Windows 8

Activation for CS is closed. Adobe provides you with a free replacement of CS2.

    Uninstall CS

Go here: Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products

Click English, download Photoshop CS2 and also copy the serial number that comes with it.

Install CS2 and use this serial number CS2. There no need activation.

It is doubly strange.  I just check and that the other thread is not locked and can be answered.  Someone else has a problem, you reply to this thread.

Secondly, I turn off the settings described works for me and Photoshop opens without MRU and start work space.

You did _uncheck_ these settings?  I like the new workspaces, so mine are checked, but it clearly says _Show_ at the beginning of each line.

  • With regard to the update of the locations of cards-oracle

    HII everyone,

In my application, we using mapviewer, which was installed locally on our server, for map rendering and showing the locations of a client like pinball machines.

Suppose that some places (address, City) is updated map... How mapviewer (which has been installed on our server locally) will update this site all in rendering...

    Thank you

    learner

It depends on how you got the map features.  Mapfeatures are usually stored in the cache.  If a change in database may not appear in the card immediately.  If, however, given the characteristics of the map as a vectorlayer, then simple vector update updates map.  You should consider two options with regard to the update database process.  You can store the geometry as a function that is updated on the fly as change attributes of database, or you may use a database trigger to update the geometry when the attributes change.  Thus, using a combination of correct space architecture and mapviewer correct functions.

  • Problem with CPU Ussage svchost.exe

Hi there, this is a long and strange problem... My cpu ussage rises 40-50-60%, when I have contributed the most of volume upward. Svchost.exe (DcomLaunch) and (LocalSystemNetworkRestricted) using all the cpu.

I closed the Sound Settings equalizer, problem solved. But it does not correct this problem. As you know, Equalizer is the most important thing to listen to the music... So I can't hang with it.

I tried everything, scan pc with MalwareBytes, BitDefender, ComboFix, Norton Internet Security in safe MODE (my default antivirus it is)

And I formatted my pc, always the same. Looks like that is not on the virus. It s on sound authority and management. I use mainboard Asus M4A87TD USB3, so you know the sound chipset...

  • Problem with Variables shared in exe running on Windows 2000

Anyone know if there are problems with the Variables shared on Windows 2000? I can't get the LabVIEW executables that use shared Variables to work Windows 2000 on a computer with just the runtime engine.  Everything works perfectly on XP on a machine with just the LabVIEW runtime engine installed (using LV 8.5).  Shared variables are supposed to work less than 2000.  I have attached the sample code that is based on one of the examples NOR to the Variables Shared - editor and the Subscriber - with some extra stuff for the diagnosis, I added.  On Windows 2000, you can only run one or the other exe.  It seems that as soon as the other come to the part on the diagram with the shared variable node it crashes.  Shared variables are getting written in the because if you close the editor and then run the exe subscriber it reads the latest values set properly.

On Windows 2000 I tried with the administrator account and off the ladies of viruses, firewalls.  There may be another Windows 2000 setting that causes this problem with the two exes trying to access shared variables.  I do not have the development environment on Windows 2000 computer that the purpose of this exercise is to see if its worth using shared variables.  Windows 2000 computers remain the same in the Test and measurement world.  A research on Developer Zone does not there is no particular problem with Windows 2000.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Hi André,.

Thanks for the comments!  Your feedback will help us improve LabVIEW for our customers.  This bug has been reported to R & D (#45493), and they're currently investigating this issue.  For now, the best solution seems to be using a different operating system, as this seems to occur only in Windows 2000.  Thanks for the comments!

  • Using XP Professional with SP3. WMIC.exe recurring problem

Get an application error. Memory could not be written. I click Cancel, which is the option of debugging, but during the day, it appears again. Doesn't seem not related to a specific action.

I don't have this error message in my notes (in other words, I have never seen this), but it also seems that you could not sent us the accurate and complete error message you see.

So I don't know if this will help or not.

However, if I wanted to rebuild the repository of Windows, I would never the way suggested - I would like to do it this way (which solves with success the other WMI problems I have in my notes):

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to launch the Services applet.

Locate the Windows Management Instrumentation Service.  If the status column indicates that the WMI Service is started (ongoing), right-click on the WMI Service and choose to stop the WMI Service.

Answered in the affirmative, if requested to stop Security Center and Windows Firewall Services (with stopped services, your system is vulnerable to attacks from the Internet, so do not receive is not on the Internet again until you reboot your system).

Now would be a good time to check also the properties of the WMI Service to make sure the startup type is set to automatic for the Service WMI will start automatically the next time the system is restarted.

The Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that your boot drive is C):

    C:\Windows\System32\Wbem\

Locate and then rename the folder "Repository" to something, as you remember, such as:

    Repository.Old

Restart the computer, and then make sure that the WMI service is restarted automatically and that a new repository folder has been created to replace the one that has been renamed.  It may take a while to completely rebuild the file storage (several seconds or minutes) so expect it ends.

After the reboot, you will notice the wmiprvse.exe Service running in the Task Manager and it will continue to run until it completes the reconstruction of the repository (this may take a little time).

The rebuilding process could take several minutes depending on your system, but eventually the wmiprvse.exe Service ends and disappear from the Manager tasks.

If you then look at the Event Viewer Application log, there may be some error messages like this:

    Event type: error
    Event source: WinMgmt
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 4
    Description:
Failed to load C:\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V4.0.30319\MOF\SERVICEMODEL MOF. MOF by retrieving the file from the repository.

This is normal because when the system restarts, the wmiprvse.exe process has to rebuild parts of the repository as well. It is a mistake to sequence as shown below. You should not see these mistakes again after the system has been rebooted and catches up and finishes rebuilding the WMI repository.

Explanations for errors encountered in the case of the Application of visualization of the newspaper the WMI repository is rebuilt:

    Explanation
Windows Management Instrumentation could have tried to compile the file (mofcomp) a .mof marked for ASR, but compilation failed. This is probably due to a sequencing problem.

    User action
To correct the problem, try to compile the .mof again. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the provider of technical support for the program in question.

You shouldn't need to do something about these error messages and do not see again them after that XP has finished rebuilding the WMI repository.

I can't say how long this will take to rebuild, maybe 10 to 15 minutes until it settles completely.

    Problem:

Unexpectedly a week ago I started having the page help and Support Windows XP and IE open without help page to provide they could fill several times - up to 111 times. This happened when the electronic display, work in word and excel, surf the internet, etc.. Thinking that it was a hung F1 button I change keyboard - no change. The problem also occurs with any Windows program, I opened, when the program is opened the Help menu on this program open with her.

    Tried solutions:

1.), I ran Malewarebytes, Ccleaner, Spybot, Microsoft Security Essentials - not found
infections. I then downloaded SUPERAntiSpyware what it supposed to be able to dig deep
structure of the file and there ran - you guessed it, found nothing. I had to hold the Ctrl + Alt key to
Choose a program to open and then hold only Alt to select specific functions inside the
program - once the program has begun to run if I took out the ALT key the program would be
    Quit running.
I was really "bad" I tried to run WipeDrive but could not get the thought screen 2)
BACK to stop flashing and accepting orders.
(3.) I removed the Lithium battery from the motherboard for 15 minutes and reinstalled.
When I booted up it worked well for about an hour and then the problem started
    Once again.
    4.), I bought a new hard drive - ST310005N1A1AS-RK Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM
SATA 32 MB Cache throughput of 3 Gbps of data - and reloaded XP, Yes, I still have the same problem.
So, by this point, I felt that I had eliminated infections (new hard drive and unconnected with the)
Internet on the new hard drive).
5.) I downloaded a diagnostic tool windows to the mother card/RAM memory for a disc on my
laptop and it ran on the pc to see if maybe the memory was wrong and the cause. I have
ran 19 passes on diagnostic tests and passed each time.
(6.) which brings us to today. I think it may be a relative to an .exe command software problem
with orders HelpCtr.exe and Iexplore.exe, but which is outside my expertise.
I hope someone here has run across this before and knows a form of reparation because I
am ready to start the practice of the target for deer after working on it for 5
days in a row... Laughing out loud!

I have both Oldtimer and HiJack this loaded and can send a report if this can help, let me know.

    Hello
the coast of the information provided, to the material I think.
To make sure that I didn't miss anything, you already have:
    1. replace the HARD drive
    2 reinstall the operating system
    3 reset the bios
    4. disconnected internet access
5 scan on new HDD and software

have you tried a restore before installing the new HARD drive? Back to before this question arisen?
It is perhaps a question for net tech forums.
