With VMware View Certificate error

Hello

I have a display environment and when I try to connect me to view security server I got the following error:

View the connection to the authentication server failed. The tunnel server handed a certificate that does not correspond to the expected certificate.

I check the View Client logs (debug.txt which I enclose you) and it seems to be a different certificate so I could not affermirai connection, anyone know how to change the certificate to display in my office?

Thank you.

This KB, you should get repaired once you can connect to the ADSI edit tool.

Make sure that when you connect that you explicitly set the server that you connect to localhost. Let autodetect is connected to one of your AD controllers instead of the AD LDS to view instance.

  • ThinPro with VMware View USB Redirection

    Hi all:

I'm trying to configure my workstation (t620 ThinPro 5.1 running) to start required services necessary for USB with VMware View forwarding at startup.  I tried to add the command to /etc/rc.local and created my own init.d script, but none of these options automatically launch services.  Run manually /etc/rc.local and the custom init.d script launches the services successfully.

Has someone managed to get the necessary USB redirection services running at the start?  Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Solved my problem... changed under USB Manager Remote Protocol of VMware View.  Updated this setting caused VMware services to run at startup.

It should work with view 5. But when I try to launch the client and connect to your desktop from view, he asks just a super quick message (which I don't see) and then it brands the "active" session, but it doesn't open anything . View 5 Client on my laptop works very well and I m able to access the same desktop VM.

    Hello

I had the same problem this week. He is not related to view 5, same problem exists also with 4.6.

The problem seems to be that when you try to open the connection, the client calls a /usr/bin/view_wrapper.sh script and this script does NOT run with user privileges? However, if you switch to admin and then open the connection this script works well. You can test it by opening the X terminal in the thin client, then the su user and try to run the script manually /usr/bin/view_wrapper.sh start at 0 and you will get a prompt for sudo.

I tried to add the useraccount 'user' in/etc/sudoers and allow that user rights sudo for view_client and view_wrapper.sh programs. Did not help

If you add the user 'user' to the root group, connection opens fine but then you let the open thin client for the standard user to mess with.

Quite a bug in the software? They don't do any test before releasing these?

This is linked with the permissions?

    check the fixing

    Thank you very much

Make sure that the Windows Firewall is disabled really. Allowed, start, stop and then turn it off again.

The view Agent starts the firewall service (even if it has been disabled) to add a firewall rule for RDP. The sequence above should ensure that really, he is arrested.

  • With VMware View Server using LDAPS (port 636)

I've been responsible for something that seems impossible/not supported.

VMware View Server uses port 389 for LDAP.  My task is to do view to use instead the port 636 (LDAP over SSL).  The accusation is that the replicated servers in VMware View data not encrypted between other on port 389.

So far in my quest, I did no progress in this project.  However, I was able to test that manual connections can now be performed (with ADSI Edit) with port port SSL 636 other replicated servers view.  Problem is that the view seems to have hard-coded to use port 389 and cannot be moved to use LDAPS.

There are instructions to do something like this in vCenter (http://www.vstable.com/2012/01/27/vcenter-5-active-directory-web-services-error-1209/) (Security Virtual Lab: & amp; nbsp;) Architecture - Blog - proSauce), but nothing related to the sight of the surfaces in a Google search.

Someone at - it have a Yes or whinny if possible?

EDIT: Moved to the correct community.

It is not easy being responsible for something impossible!

Connection view servers have an AD LDS instance, and replication between servers using the AD LDS replication. This is a replication mechanism secure by using the replication RPC, LDAP and Kerberos and secure without having to implement LDAP over SSL on 636.

The articles you refer to are actually on the definition of a port number unused LDAPS access of Web Active Directory Services with vCenter Server to get rid of an event without danger. It does nothing to do with replication between LDAP servers. View prevents remote access Active Directory Web services anyway with a specific firewall rule so that remote users have no access to it.

The only reason why you can use LDAPS with AD LDS is if you support simple LDAP connections. The use of SSL would mean that the simple bind passwords are not sent in the clear. In the case of the view, simple LDAP connections are not enabled in any case.

In summary, what you're trying to do is useless.

  • Login to view - certificate error Server

    Hello

I've updated vmware view of 4.6 to 5.1.1 everything went well.

But I am not in a position to replace the value default auto sign the certificate with the CA cert.

I tried to import the CA certificate root of trust and certicate store personal on the login server itself.

However it is always showing unsign certificate, if anyone can shred any light?

    Thank you

Is the default self-signed also has friendly vdm name?  If so remove and then reboot and see if the new certificate is used.   As you import your certificate with the private key?

or this sso must be installed on individual workstations?

    3. can I use vmware sso that comes with vcenter 5.1 for this set up?

    any help would be appreciated

    Kind regards

    Shan

N ° you must install anything on virtual desktops other than the Agent of the view. This gives view SSO.

You can talk about vCenter SSO who is not related to the PSO from view.

To display, you must only install the software referenced in the view installation guide.

  • Connection to the Server VMware View - 404 error

I was getting alarms in vCenter for CPU usage on my view connection server, I discovered was caused by the mysqld service 100% of the CPU usage. I restarted the server, and when she came back to the top, the https://server/admin page gave me a 404 error. After going through the papers, I found it (I think) caused by this:

    2013-08 - 06T 18: FATAL 00:08.403Z (0CF0-0DB4) < Thread-1 > [ICE] ice beginning com.vmware.vdi.ice.server.Ice.startServer(SourceFile:1167) exception java.net.BindException: address already in use: JVM_BIND to...

and a bunch of java lines after that, but I'm sure that the relevant part is above. After some research, the only good head that I could find was to disable the IIS service, if it is installed, or configure it to use a different port. The service is not installed.

So I did a netstat - anub | FIND/n '443'. The PID for the service that is listening on the port is 4, which corresponds to the function of the SYSTEM. I don't know how to change it. So I'm stuck.

    Ideas?

IIS has not been installed. I did a last shot of station and just sort processes by use of memory and kill them until the 404 went. Ended up be the MS SQL Reporting Services. So I disabled the service and the view Web Admin page returned to the top after a reboot.

  • VMWare View Tunnel error disconnected Client 4.6

    Hi all

This whole process of view 4.6 always new.

I get the following error when I try to connect to View Client 4.6 to automated pool of 3 XP desktops. In sight, administrator, I was able to create a pool of 3 computers of Office XP without problem. I called about 5 users to use the pool. I see the pool I created when I use the customer to view. Desktop shows as 'available' in the client.

When I go to connect through PCOIP or RDP, I get the same error.

I added a DNS entry for my server view I've seen a few suggestions in other posts, to ensure what has been done (it was not, is now...) but it still does not work.

    Error:

    Tunnel of disconnected

The secure connection to the server view has suddenly disconnected.

Reason: create new socket to connect to xx.xx.xxx.xx:443 (PCName.mydomain.com).

I don't know that I missed something stupid. Anyone can add anything before I have the whole thing scarp and redo? No chance to find this documented error.

This could be a firewall issue and if so do I need to disable the firewall on the image of the mother and recreate the pool?

Once again forgive me yet because I'm just a newb... If I did not explain this well enough, hit me with additional questions and I will provide info that I have left out.

    Hello

If you have a proxy server is configured in the clients Internet Explorer, please disable this and try.

You are also able to launch Desktop 'use the connection to tunnel secure desktop' is disabled in administrator mode?

  • Deployment with VMware View streaming

    Hi guys,.

I have a Thinapp application I restricted to a group of users. I have it assigned to a pool with the type of installation as "Streaming".

The application is deployed, even for users that are not allowed, but when an unauthorized user clicked received a message saying "Permission denied" what is normal.

    So here are my questions:

-Is the application deployed only when the user opens a session on the desktop? Or is she deployed just after it has been assigned to a pool or an office? At first glance, it seems that the application is deployed only when a user opens a session.

-Why the application is deployed to even for unauthorized users? Is seen to deploy thinapps with the default /keepunauthorized setting? Or is it because the deployment runs on computers and users, no? If that normal behavior, it sucks. I'll have to use thinreg that represents a considerable burden in my VDI environment (well, that I can still install the thinapp SDK in the statue of gold...).

    Thanks for your answers,

    tllp

View Agent queries View manager and get new rights ThinApp. Not sure on the default plan though... If the ThinApps are delivered not only when connecting.

From the View Manager is supported only by payments of pool or office is wide right machine. He cares about the privileges of the user. Since the display manager and he enjoys a support of ThinApp is treated with view team I would ask you to direct any comments to view community.

Most of the clients by using view large scale use ThinApp SDK or thinreg.exe. Reason is true based right user...

  • A local user account can be used with VMware View?

I have a bit of a unique situation.  I virtualized PC (off the field) which is basically a controller or a big machine.  To run the software from the vendor, the local user account is required.

Unfortunately, it doesn't allow a local user account to add to the display manager.  Am I missing something, or is it just not possible?

    Thank you!

As said Mark, you can disable Single Sign-on on the desktop so that after you authenticate to view (it must be a domain user) you can then enter any identifying information that you have on the desktop itself.

Policy details are in 5.1 Administrator's Guide Page 163 views and politics is titled AllowSingleSignon:

    http://pubs.VMware.com/view-51/topic/com.VMware.ICbase/PDF/view-51-administration.PDF

You will be able also a step further. After that you disabled SSO on the desktop, you can configure kiosk in view mode that the client used to connect to this desktop computer (if you are using only a single customer) would link up to this office automatically and then the user would simply see the Windows login prompt and be able to authenticate locally.

  • With VMware View can use persistent disks and roaming profiles together

Site already has XP roaming profiles configuration and are again VDI Win7 so new profiles (username.v2) will be created anyway. However, I want to continue to use roaming profiles, hosted on a server so that the data is replicated and backed up. (redundant solutions already in place) Initially while we configure persistent discs and the VDI will be not synchronize with the roaming profile on D:\   I confirmed that my roaming profiles work very well on a physical system running Win7, but problems with the VDI. I was wondering if I can get them in sync in the current configuration, or if I should scrap the drive persistent in a way that the data will be all stay and synchronize on roaming profile constantly even if I refresh or update my Golden VDI image?

    Hi, welcome in the community

If you want to use your existing installation of roaming profile, then the best option is do not use "persistent" disk configuration Redirect to drive persistent static and it brings the use of extra storage.

While commissioning a desk with persistent disk pool, view and changes the path of the user in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Profile profile list to the D drive.  This may conflict with your roaming profile configuration. To confirm that, in the physical machine, change string values "Default", 'Profile directory' and 'Public' in the list of profiles registry which refers to a new path.

    > If I should scrap the persistent drive in a way that the data will be all remain and synchronize with roaming profile constantly even if I refresh or update my Golden VDI image?

Yes, it could be a convenient option for you. Deploy pools dedicated without redirection of the user's data
