    I changed the host name in my CentOS so (where installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after the installation was completed successfully.

    It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.

    When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.

    The problem is caused by not sending forms is not a VALIDATION of the database because he thinks that there is no changes to save.

    Forms does know that changes to the data block, he does not know the changes made by the PLSQL INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE calls and procedure.

  • External drive and the database is unable to re-connect after player swaps (?)

    • I have a problem for my existing database reconnected after adding a large SSD and replace a different hard drive in another Bay. Details below.
    • I run LRCC on a desktop machine Win7 64 bit with a lot of RAM.
    • My catalog is on record in the area and is the right size (2.93Gig for 120 000 images)
    • The catalog and previews are on an SSD - not with images
    • My picture files are on an external RAID USB3 battery; I have everything in a folder called "Lightroom".
    • This external hard drive is reported as 'online' in the folders pane
    • My picture files can be seen under the name of the external drive (RAID) on which the images are stored.
    • for example, no folder with question marks
    • The correct image files do not appear elsewhere in the LR Folders pane.
    • I had to rename and rebuild the drive letter for the external drive. I don't think it would be a problem. He had been driving \K: front and eventually re-assigned a different letter. When I looked at the share path, he was wrong, as he used the name of another drive (internal). That's when I forced reassignment to the letter assignment and the previous path that had worked all along.

    I think I'd be tempted to go to a previous backup for example before you removed something. Double-click the .lrcat file to start or start a catalog file vacuum > new Catlaog and open the backup into that.

    Then it should be possible to remap the drive letters or update folder locations to match with the raid.  You might even consider static drive letters such as X, Y, Z.

    Dedicated server means that there will be a dedicated process running on the server for each session opened by a customer.  The client application servers can open hundreds or thousands of connections at the base, all having the same shared database user to Oracle, to serve users accessing the site.  You would not channel all users through a single database connection and a single server process.

    I would like to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the following situation:
    We have only one request.
    The design of the db for this application has 44 paintings, of which 28 are base tables related by PK and FK relations. The other 16 are look upward and refer to tables that are not related to one.
    The team has decided to place the tables in a diagram 28 A and the other 16 in another schema B within the same database. (The reason for this is... because it's done in other projects to do it here too).
    Coming now to the code (stored procedures, functions, packages, etc.). Teams want to ask most of the code in the diagram B with the Ref 16 tables. (the reason being again the same).
    What are the advantages and disadvantages this?
    Please advice.

    I have googled and find something on these lines:

    From my experience, if you see natural divisions that give you smaller patterns, well contained, you should take advantage of them and start with separate schemas. If done correctly, it can greatly improve the maintainability of your application.

    Assume that your initial project will have 60 paintings and they might fall into three groups of 15, 20 and 25 tables respectively. There are also objects of code such as PL/SQL packages. Your choice is:
    -Use a single scheme of 60 paintings, suppose that with 100 objects in code.
    -Use 3 diagrams divided as described. The total code objects will probably be a little more that unique schema design, because they need to provide interfaces with others. So let's assume that schemas will have 30, 40 and 50 code objects each.

    Now, wait 3 years.

    The history of single-schema:
    -The single-schema is passed to 120 tables. There has been a corresponding increase in code, now more than 200 objects. But they are very complex. Over time, each piece of code will interact with the tables more and more and many other objects in code.
    -You (the architect or Manager) can not really apply any internal for this structure since no subsidy is required to add dependencies. Therefore, if you change a table there is a vast impact.
    -You can easily divide the responsibilities because everything affects everything else. You can't manage simultaneous development efforts because the impact widespread changes cause the same tables/components to be affected by multiple projects. If you have the project execution dependencies / as you have interdependencies technique/code.
    -You have a "big ball of mud" and it is very difficult to get out of this situation.

    Multi-schema history:
    -Each of the 3 original patterns has grown, but some more than others. A fourth was added a year ago, when there was a major expansion in a new district, as a result of "natural divisions.
    -On the inside of each of these schemas, it is always a challenge to impose internal structure. But those patterns more smaller and therefore more small problems.
    -Through schemes, subsidies are necessary to allow interaction, this is not a "wild west" where everyone can access everything (and introduce dependencies on everything). Teams to define interfaces (packages or the views that are specifically intended to be interface points) where the interactions with other scehmas are necessary.
    -If changes to a table are needed, the impact can be limited to the schema that contains naturally. You know that no one else has created dependencies at this table, because you were never issued grants on this.
    -The responsibility for these schemas was divided between 2 teams, each team having full responsibility for its 2 diagrams.
    -Teams can complete projects much more easily, even with a parallel development, because there is less than a "domino effect" with each change.

    Now, these benefits depend on "natural divisions that give you the diagrams smaller, well contained." If you make the wrong choice here, you will always have a mess. You design with the end in mind scenario.

    You must log on as a user with privileges "sysdba" to start the database that is authenticated using password * 'orapwd' * file resides on the server. It is authenticated by the database itself. To learn more:

    Set up your database connection - the palette of components (Services) allows to drag - move a partnerlink data adapter in the left or right of your Async BPEL process binding.

    Add your invoke and variables for the partnerlink DB - use the component palette (business process) to drag and drop an Invoke activity in your BPEL process. It also lets you create your input and output variables. I'd like to shorten names by default before you click OK.

    Map data from the input file to the link of DB output - for simple maps (a small number of fields), use an activity entitled the palette of components (business process). For more than a few fields, looping, etc. use a palette of components (business process) transformation activity. It is much more powerful and flexible, with the added complexity that comes with it.

    Optional: assign one of the input values unique to your variable of input file to the output for your BPEL process variable or output in a legend of Java with addAuditTrailEntry(). It allows debugging to see if your problem has been reading the file or keep at the table. Of course, everything works first time, so it's not necessary. ;-)

    After this, deploy and start your process (BPEL Console-> dashboard-> Your_Process_Name-> run-> 'Message XML Message'.

    I had to re - initialize my cache of offline files corrupt periodically since my days of Windows XP, and it seems that Windows 8 is no different.  The fix for Windows 7 and Vista does not appear if apply to Windows 8 if someone have any suggestions on how to achieve this?

    If the column "MaxFree (M)" you show no space required, then your data files are not configured well. Your DBA must configure the parameters 'CanGrow' and 'maxsize' adequate level data file in each tablespace.

    Say that I have recorded 5 conferences for a speaker in the same room but different days and now I want to combine 5 conferences into one large audio file.

    1. do you recommend I noise removal for each conference separately then I sting in one big file, or I join them all in one big file, and noise removal on the large file that result?
    2. According to my relevant place to the speaker registration for the day 1 for example was stronger than day 2 so when I join the 5 conferences that do to unify the "volume"and make sure that it appears as if it were a long conference with consistency in the voice.

    If you have moved against the speaker, then probably noise is not quite the same thing. So, I would take a sample of distinct noise for each lesson and do them individually. When you have done that, it should be a simple matter to standardize each file for the same peak level (by example, - 1 dB) and then the content of each will be substantially the same, although the conditions of a room can make a small difference to this. Not so many things that it must be a problem however.

    After that, you can attach files, using open > add and save the result.

    Do not. They won't understand. The only thing that they care for is their bonus.  They blame the software, they know the least: the database.

    You manage the database, they will be blaming you (and potentially you fire).

    You can't win this battle.

    I recommend that you start looking for another job.

    I have stayed here several times. All these consuiltancies have a very high rate of recovery of underpaid, junior developers who knows nothing, because they produce all disasters.
