  • Latitude 6420 after withdrawal of hard drive and put it back: no found at startup boot device

    Hello!

    Dell Latitude 6420

I took out the original disc where I run Window 7 to check a few specifications written on the disc. When I put it back in the machine to turn on and start the machine it says: no boot device found.

Diagnostics of the BIOS is unable to find either disk rhe. When I plug the drive into a usb disk drive in another machine, I can see that all date is there.

Help! What should I do to make the machine recognize the drive again?

    Best regards

    Arnstein Aas

    Hi Arnstein,

If you do not see the drive in the diagnosis, the BIOS is not able to see the drive. So I think that there is a connection problem. I would like to try remove it and put it back.

  • material withdrawal safely now show removal of the hub, but not every hard drive

I have windows 7 64 bit, recently installed on my laptop. I use a D - link DUB-7 (7 ports hub) to fix the keyboard, pen, and hard drives. At first 'Safe hardware removal' has allowed the removal of each hard drive and also powered the hub down when the laptop is turned off. After execution of the laptop for a week disconnected from this set to the top it now only allows the entire hub is disconnected and can't seem to to the bottom of the hub (or hard drives, they continue) when the laptop is turned off. I now need to disconnect (remove) the hub, lose my mouse and keyboard, disconnect the hard drive, then plug in the hub.

How can I put "remove" every hard Drive not the whole hub?

Your Dell 1525 is not helpful with both versions of win7 slightly and snce Dell does no 64-bit drivers, for win7 or Vista, besides, you are left with the help of the default built in win7 drivers provided by windows update, which will give not the same features as those provided by the manufacturer of the PC (if they had produced some drivers win7)

The msg when disconecting a usb port, that its use, does not necessarily mean a program runs, it means its locked by a file or service.

  • External hard drive does not

I have a Seagate external hard drive purchased from Apple and placed many files, now it does not appear on my MacPro? How can I see the files backed up? Or how do I fix this?

Contact Seagate technical support for help with their product. Meanwhile, you might try to connect to a different port, cable and repair the disk with disk utility.

Repair the disk for El Capitan

    1. Restart the computer and after the chime hold down the command and R until the Utility Menu appears.
    2. Disk utility and click on the continue button.
    3. Then select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the volume of the list to one side.
    4. Click the first aid tab on the toolbar and wait for the fact button to activate. Click it, and then quit disk utility.
    5. Select restart from the Apple menu.
  • Re: M100 change HARD drive

    Hello

I have an 'old' Portege M100 and I suspect a broken HARD drive. The laptop freeze suddenly and sometimes crash with a blue screen. Most of the time it will not start at all. I managed to reinstall XP with my recovery CD twice, without change.
I would like to change the HARD drive, but I read somewhere that the BIOS is actually on the HARD drive itself. Is this true? If so, how can I swap the HARD drive then? I also fear that changing the HARD drive will make inoperative recovery CD?

    Don't want to lose the M100 ;)

    THX,

    Kris

    Hello

As mentioned, the BIOS is stored on the ROM chip which is part of the motherboard.
To update the BIOS ROM module must be flashed.

The other thing is that the replacement of the HARD disk is not really complicated.
To my knowledge, you need the 2.5 IDE HARD drive.
Bay drive HARD bottom of the unit and it s fixed with screws.
If you remove the cover of the HARD drive Bay, you can easily remove the internal HARD disk.

In some cases, it s in the cradle and you need remove the extra screws (2 on each side) so of to withdraw his support.

    See you soon

  • Satellite A100 - memory and hard drive upgrade

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite A100-158 of the model code PSAA9E-01700VPT. It came with a 80 GB HDD at 5400 RPM S.M.A.R.T. and 1 GB of RAM DDR2 (533 MHz).

I think that my computer slows to a crawl because maybe I thought the hard drive being old and low memory for recent programs and therefore upgrade the hard drive and memory.

A Western Digital Scorpio Black 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB 2.5 inch would fit? According to them, it's running at 7200 RPM with the energy consumption of a drive 5400 RPM (marketing simply bad maybe).

And a memory card Kingston 2 GB DDR2 800 MHz working? It has a higher frequency than my current ram, but then I guess he can withdraw maximum permitted by the motherboard? I guess that's 533 Mhz as my module memory factory. I can also buy a module 2 GB of the same manufacturer exact DDR 2 as well but 667 MHz instead... still higher than my current memory module.

Thanks much for the tips... I hope that this will bring my A100 more in standards without going to a new laptop :)

    Hello

Generally, a HARD drive with more RPM isn't a problem, but he needs a little more power and product more heat, but it should work.
It s based on your application that you are running. For normal use, 5400 RPM should be ok.

The modules of RAM with higher specifications are also no problem because it s downgrade compatible for lower speed (533 MHz).
Kingston is always recommendable, I've never had a problem with these modules. :)

  • Equium A200-1AC - cannot remove the second HARD drive cover

I have an Equium A200-1AC, there is also a second HARD-drive Bay, but I can't get the cover off the coast, can anyone help?

    Hello

As far as I know, this HARD drive cover is only guaranteed with a screw and after the withdrawal of these screws, you should be able to remove the plastic cover.
Maybe it's sticks somewhere, you can use a thin object and could leverage with caution
But don t do something with force!

  • HP Pavilion 6653w "imminent hard drive failure! "Backup and replace. Questions.

Hello, I have a HP Pavilion 6653w with Windows 7 Home Premium desktop computer.   It is 4 to 6 years old.  Recently, when I start it, I get a message "imminent hard disk failure!  Please save and replace as soon as possible."  I've never had to replace a hard drive before, so I have some questions:

1 should. what type of disc do I replace - be of the same type that I have now?  (Hitachi, 1 TB).   Is there a list somewhere that shows which drives are not suitable for my computer?

2 - is a mechanically inclined person (my husband) could do at home, or that it does not require a professional?  My husband has replaced a front memory card, we just request if it is similar to the one in trouble?

    Thank you!

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01315257

This link will take you to a document on the withdrawal and the replacement of a hard drive on a HP or Compaq desktop computer.  If it is not identical to your case, it will be a little similar.  The point is, that it is not terribly difficult; This is something you might be able to tackle yourself, or with a friend who has some experience with computers.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite P300 with two hard drives

    Hi all

I have a Satellite P300 1 9, which seems to have two hard drives of 250 GB. A (Hitachi) is partitoned 'Vista C and E Data' and the other (Toshiba) is listed as drive had ' which is empty. If I right click on anything, say a document, and select ' send to ' I don't have the option to send to the D drive. How to store data on this drive?

    Thank you

    cheven.

If your laptop has two hard disks, it clearly appears in Windows Explorer.
The first HARD disk is divided into two partitions, and on the second partition, which belongs to the first HARD drive, you will see folder HDDRecovery (do not remove the second HARD drive).

Deleting files is the same as on the withdrawal between the two partitions. It is the WXP/Vista basic know-how.

  • HARD drive upgrade to 320 on Satellite Pro A200SE - 1 X 6

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro A200SE - 1 X 6, that it came with 80 GB hard drive and I want to upgrade to 320 GB HARD disk, is it possible?

At the back of the laptop, I found a compartment for a second HDD to HDD2.
I tried to open it by unscrewing the screws but I couldn't take off the cover even after I removed the two screws, could someone help me on how to remove the cover HDD2? *

Last question, what type of HARD drive I need to purchase?
I thought it might be SATA!

    Thank you very much
    Taha

    Hello

I m not 100% sure if a HDD 320 would go well on your Satellite A200 and BIOS recognize it without big problems.
First of all try to test it somehow

    With regard to the second disc cover HARD;
I have an A200 Equium and same second HARD drive Bay is available on my laptop.
The plastic cover is fixed ONLY with these two screws and after the withdrawal of these two screws, you should be able to remove the HARD drive Bay cover too.
I know a little bit more difficult but try to use a thin object and try to leverage.
    But be careful!

    Just a note;
Not all A200 supports the second HDD! But the second span is always available.
Yes, it's a bit confusing (I was too confused), but it seems that there are different models with different motherboards and that's why the second HARD disk controller is not always there.

    Welcome them

  • Pavilion 15: What replacement hard drive?

    Hello

I need to replace the hard drive on laptop Pavilion 15 of my son. Can anyone recommend what to buy. I do not have a backup cd, so presumably I need to re - load windows etc. as well?

    Thank you very much

    ADE

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Media of 6.35 cm (2.5 in) hard drives in 9.5 mm (in.37) and 7.0 mm (.28 in.) thick (all hard drives use the same bracket)

So this confirms accept the one I linked in the post above.

Unfortunately, the removal of the hard drive is a little tricky. Start the p. 85 of the manual which shows how to remove the top cover.

You can skip over the part on the withdrawal of the screen and go to p. 105 for the hard drive.

  • Compaq 5000 desktop hard drive mounting

    2014-03-16

A few weeks ago, I unintentionally deleted hard drive of my Compaq 5000US Office of the chassis without recording sound

original location.  Now, I am at a loss to know where to put them back in place as it looks as if there is no place for it inside the computer.  I'm familiiar with the locations of the floppy drive, drive of CD-ROM and two empty boxes of filling.  It's really confusing.  I'll be very grateful to anyone who can tell me how to make this hard drive.

    Julianloui

    {Problem solved]

Even if I wish to withdraw my original question that I started too early, I think that my answer may still be useful to someone who needs to know where the HD is mounted despite its obvious location.  The HD is locked in a metal cage mounted vertically behind the bottom of the front cover of the computer.   You can not miss.

I had not actually removed the HD but the mysterious presence of an HD 20 GB lying around the computer made me think that she belonged to the machine. I should have better because the 5000US came with a 30 GB hard drive.

  • Install additional hard drive on HP Pav p6202f

I have maxed out my 'C' drive (& my "Factory" is now in the Red) and want to add a disk hard extra 2 t.  I have no problem to enter the Pavilion or the withdrawal of the HDD cage that contains now the C"" drive.  My question is this:

    1) there are 2 options available on cable (P3 & P5) beam - which should I use?

    2) there are 2 options available on the motherboard power source (SATA # & SATA4) which should I use?

    (3) once it is plugged in, can I just move all the 'C' existing to the new disk, shut down the computer, make the wiring harnesses and use the 2 new t as my 'C' drive and clean the old 'C' drive and use it as extra memory?

    (4) will automatically be windows 7 rechognize the new drive and format? or is there a procedure I need to follow?

    (5) I'm going to be VERY optimistic and say when it's over, what else can I add or change my computer to improve its performance?

    Thank you!!!

    Nevin

Your making a hypothesis that is not valid. So let's restart your process.

The link to the wizard disk Seagate (the downloadable program) was valid, but I'll him direct more the manual.

Unplug the power cord. Place the unit on its side, open side panel. Disconnect your DVD data and power cables.  (temporarily the measure). Connect the new drive with these cables. You can ask/prop the new drive on a piece of cardboard. Reconnect the power cord and computer to boot.  The next is to know how to prepare the new hard drive, then READ very carefully TWICE before taking any action.

Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, then:

Lets check in disk management. Your startup disk will appear a Disk0. Stay away that.

The added disk should appear as Disk1. It's the "new" command

    • Click on a region not allocated on your "new" hard disk1 and then click New Simple Volume.
    • In the new Volume Simple Wizard, click Next.
    • Type the size of the volume you want to create in megabytes (MB) or accept the maximum size by default, and then click Next.
    • Accept the default drive letter or choose a different drive letter to identify the partition, and then click Next.
    • In the Formater Partition dialog box, do one of the following:
      • If you don't want to format the volume right now, click on do not format this volume and then click Next.
      • To format the volume with the default settings, click Next.

Review your choices and then click Finish.

The formatting process can take more than an hour. To relax. Do not leave the screen. Do not charge anything. After that it ends...

Read the instructions of the wizard disk. He explains how to clone the old drive. When the cloning program is complete, it will reboot. After that, pop a message, something like 'Diskwizard Complete. "  Turning off power then swap out hard disks physically and re - connect the DVD player.  The old drive is now disconnected. Restart the system. If everything is correct, power down, then replace side panel. Enjoy.

  • Replacing hard drive HP-M4-1015dx

I'm a professional sector, when even, I have a problem you know that there is something faulty with the design... I can't understand how to replace the hard drive in the M4-1015dx. The back has been cut as if the plastic on the HARD/RAM disk might be deleted, but I begin to suspect that it is a fake of the coverage. There is one screw on the cover that the withdrawal does nothing. Should I really remove a ton of screws, maybe even the keypad to access the HARD drive Bay / RAM or am I missing something simple here right?

    Any help is appreciated.

(It does not help that HP apparently no longer includes documentation of replacement procedure with their laptops and it is especially impossible to find information online on).

Take the battery, and then drag the lock (drums) to clear the service door. You can then remove the panels.
