WLAN card update

Hello

I am well aware that similar messages have been published before, but I still fell on the answer, I am looking for.

I had a hard time with the Intel 1000 BGN wifilink which is in my thinkpad E520 and I am so tired of what I want to exchange it with another card.

The problem is, that I could not fix, what I should go, if I want to shop outside the steep price of Lenovo (Ip id, model numbers´). What's something like this work in my laptop?

Any help is very appreciated!

Concerning

Morten

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Site of parts for Lenovo service said the FRU listed by the seller on EBay is a compatible part to E520, but nor have I tested it and I know for sure that it'll certainly work in the system. You can buy it and test it out, if it does not work you can return it to the seller because according to him, the game is compatible with Egde series: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-and-parts/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-77246

I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion zv5133ea WLAN card update

Hi, I have a HP pavilion ZV5133ea and I would like to update the WLAN card. My laptop is a 802. 11B only and I want to have a version of G. The number of the WLAN card is Broadcom BCM94301MPL since 2003. I know that I can always buy a card USB or PCM but I'd rather spend the internal card.

I tried another Broadcom card which was compatible G: BCM94309MP of 2002. However, at the start of the BIOS, it stops and says that the WIFI network is not compatible with this laptop. I tried a few others to Anatel Intel as well but with the same result. The BIOS is version F.35, which is the last from the HP site. Does anyone know if there is a compatible WLAN card? Thank you in advance.

    Hello:

It should, because I shot these reference numbers of repair zv5000 on the link below.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c00212209.PDF

    See page 3-12

You can install one of the maps in the manual and they must have the part number HP on them or will not work.

  • H L755D-13 satellite does not start after the update of the Intel 6230 WLan card

Can someone help me. I bought this card a month ago and after insertion of the laptop runs only to the BIOS boot screen and goes no further. If this card is compatible with this laptop.

and the second is that my question updated the BIOS to version 1.50, if she gives a new opportunity.
    Maybe something with compatibility

    Hello

It seems that the WLan card is not fully compatible and the BIOS can't handle this chip.
Don t think that the BIOS update would be useful in this case, but if the new version is available, you can try to update the BIOS to the latest state.

    Hello

Why you want to upgrade the WLAN card?

To use the draft N standard, I must say that you need 3 antennas. If you must check first if your laptop is equipped with 3 antennas already or not. Otherwise it of not possible to use the draft N standard.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1111: Deffective WLAN Card

I've had a few confusing issues with my internet connection for a few weeks now:

My computer seems to detect wifi networks (they appear in the Network Manager), but fails to connect because of an unknown factor.

Basic troubleshooting informed me that wifi wasn't the issue (other devices could connect to) and it turns out that my computer could sometimes reconnect by mmee after a few hours (weird right?)

This time it does not resolve itself. I tried to update my WLAN card through my laptop adapter, so the drivers via a USB key. Nothing worked (maybe bad drivers?) I've tried a few)

My network card is a mini Broadcom 802.11n using magnetic antennas of the card. (youd cloth found in a laptop essentially...) I have little or no knowledge more than I could translate from the web on this kind of hard\software. I am at a loss.

  • Qosmio G30-204 - upgrade of the WLAN card

    Hi people.

I currently have an Intel pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network card in my laptop. If I had to upgrade to a newer version, which we'd be one of the newest and best for my laptop?

And the new WiMax from Intel would work in the Qosmio G30 - 204?

    Hey Buddy,

The antenna is placed under the cover of the display and cables are placed under the keyboard or with other words, they are connected to the wireless network card.

By the way: an upgrade to the draft N standard is not possible. In my view an update of the WLAN card is not logical.

    Hello

Firstly, it must ensure that your wireless network card and your WLan router would support the Draft N.

Second, you should check if the project has been selected in the WLan card properties.
This, to check the Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab WLan card

  • Satellite A100-847 - replacing a WLan card

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-847. I would change as WIFI card for new with "n" standard.
I found some tutorials how to proceed, but it was for Toshiba A105, very similar to my only.

I opened the bottom cover where is memory and modem, but I couldn't see all the PCI ports.
    Is it possible to do?
Does work through mini-PCI or is integrated on the motherboard?

    Hello

The A100 PSAA9E supports a minPCI WLan card that supports the IEEE 802 standard. 11a / g WLan standards.
I m not 100% sure if it would be possible to upgrade the WiFi network with a WLan card 802.11 minPCI n because the two antenna cables.
You should first clarify if the antenna is compatible with the 802.11 standard new * WLan N standard *.

The minPCI wireless network card must be hidden under the keyboard. So you'd have to remove the keyboard first to get access to the wireless network card.
The wireless network card is also connected to two antenna cables. The cables must be removed carefully using a pair of tweezers. Then spread plugs securing the wireless LAN card until the card appears.

Usually it of not difficult to replace this WLan card but if you have no experience I wouldn t recommend doing this.
This replacement must be done by a qualified technician!
In addition you guarantee the validity could be cancelled after these updates.

Trying to install Intell WLAN driver on the site of Toshiba relevent also impossible to locate a WLAN card. How to install or identify a wireless card in this computer? Or this model is provided with a card WLAN/Pratice? (But I see a symbol engraved for the WLAN at the front of the laptop, the light and the key F8 with symbol WLAN. Could someone help me?

    Thank you
    Ajith

    Hello

No, certainly not the laptop does not support the update of the Wlan card and it has also not been handed over with the wireless network card
I'm sure that you will not find the wifi card in device under network adapters Manager

So if you want to connect the laptop to the router wireless LAN or WLan you must use an external solution; for example: Wlan USB stick!

  • 17-e016dx WLAN HP update

I read that various portable computers HP could have BIOS white list that affect hardware upgrades.  I can not get detailed information to confirm or deny however.

My problem is that my built in "802.11n" adapter is only 1 x 1 and I can never connect to the more then 65 Mbps or 72 Mbit/s according to the used router.  I am planning buy AT & T GigaPower and need much better 802.11n speeds or even better 802.11ac speeds.

Are there updates to HP or third party updates which should work on my laptop?

I just realized that I had an old laptop laying around and pulled her wlan card.  FWIW sound ' an Atheros 802.11n (also 1 x 1).  It has been detected by Windows 8.1 smoothly.

I'm guessing that these theories whitelist are little in the past... now to go looking for a beautiful 802.11ac module to give up here.
