  Today I have two WLC 5508 (with license for 100 AP each of them), on a single site.

  The WLC work availability (active-standby).

  However, we have a new scenario, with 02 sites: A and B (attachment).

  I would like to know if it is possible to work as follows:

  The WLC - A as the main controller of site A. WLC - B as a backup (BDC) of WLC.-a.

  The WLC - B that has the PDC site B. WLC - as a backup (BDC) to WLC - B.

  For example:

  If WLC - a falls, site access Points are managed by B WLC site - B and vice versa.

  Is this possible?

  How can I configure the new scenario? Don't forget, there is a site-to-site between Site A and Site b.

  Another point:

  If I add more than 50 APs on Site A. How does the license number?

  Should I buy a license for the two WLC?

  Hi people! I have had problems with the update of the WLC 7,0 to 7,2 image and made a BIG mistake... I had formatted the flash. So now, I have not installed on my WLC RTOS. The only thing I have is the bootloader 1.0.16. Of course, I can not install the code file (*.aes). I think I need a RTOS install first? but where can I get one for this unit? Or maybe I can install one of the RTOS of openwrt (for example) simply enter a line of normal control or web GUI, after I install (upgrade) the image normal .aes. Please give some suggestions what to do. Thank you!

  I'm looking to set up a new SSID with an external start page, however, one of our existing SSID using local authentication. This presents this SSID with the login page default cisco web.

  If change the page of web connection to internal or external, will not effect the SSID already existing?

  In short, I need a SSID for use an external start page and use the internal page - is it possible?

  No, it should not interfere with the existing page.  I had to configure once something like this:

  SSID-1 = Web strategy-Web authentication >-> Override-> downloaded Custom

  SSID-2 =-> Passthrough-> Override-> downloaded Custom of the Web in politics

  Yes, they would stop working.

  Note: when you add licenses a reboot is required. Even if the number of supported the HA increases on reset controller is always necessary for these devices to register on the controller under the permanent license. I once added licenses and when I saw the number of the AP increase - I experimented with the restart - and when evaluating lic. expiration of my AP dropped the controller.

  I have a situation where there is a redesign of the major site network for a customer, and we are building a new facility with 5520 WLC. However, the current situation of the WLAN site is not the most optimal with rare coverage in almost all locations and a variety of old 1xxx series APs and some 2602 s.

  I want to improve the situation by allowing the CleanAir and ED - MRR, but I found no reference from the documentation if I should wait for a break in service after activating features. I checked that the APs should not have questions between them when CleanAir is enabled, even if there are models without the function.

  So the question is, can I activate CleanAir without interruptions (there are only two groups AP for two sites currently, all others are in the main group, then the feature must be activated quite well across the world)?

  Team - we're going for a refresh of the WLC anchor. Current is 4402 which is used only for the guest user connections, there is no recorded on this AP. We would replace it with 5508 but this time in HA.

  Q. you really go for AIR-CT5508-HA-K9.  Cant we buy only 2 amount of AIR-CT5508-12-K9.

  It does not work with zero licenses, but it can work temporary with the evaluation license. So if you order two C1 5508 s you must have at least one license of AP to make it work with HA - SSO in a permanent installation.

  What is the difference between the status of 'Joint' and 'Connected' AP on the controller of Cisco 5508 wireless in HA configuration?

  I have two WLC 5508 in HA configuration. October 3 the controller switchovered with reason "Active controller failed" (attached file 1). I tried to understand why the controller has failed, but I did not find the reason.

  Now, there are a lot of AP (not all) in the 'connected' State, not 'Supported in status' (attached file 2).

  What is the meaning? and why in the details ' AP join stats ' (attachment 3 and 4) tha AP are well attached status? It's a licensing issue? I can solve this problem with a manual failover to main controller?

  You have a license for 250 AP on your primary controller and the secondary is a SKU or has at least 50 AP license to act like a HA.

  As long as the main unit is available for the secondary unit (active) it will not perform the countdown. 90 days don't apply if the main unit is unavailable for more than 90 days in a row. If the secondary image (active) loses power and the principal is unavailable when it starts again, it will go into maintenance mode.

  I know that we can use the switch of 3650 as a WLC but in my script, my client has 4 different places where it will have 3650 4 switches with 5 licenses of AP.

  Can combine us the 3650 4 switches and have a common interface to WLC? or it will be 4 WLC different interfaces that they are in 4 different lcoations. Each location has its own WLC.

  It is best to configure one of the 3650 as controller on mobility (MC) and keep the license for all points. Effectively 3650 manage RF for your wireless network.

  All other 3650 can be configured as Agent (MA) mobility and together with your MC.

  Wise configuration, you must configure each 3650 identically for wireless LANs. Either you can incorprate these config wireless on your 3650 switch configuration template or use first infrastructure (if you have one) to the configuration of the push for these 3650 model.

  Below post can help, since the installer, I have set up a 5760 as MC, but in your case one of the 3650 will be the MC.

  I have 3 WLC 5508 which is upgraded to version 8.x and I can see this feature when searching on the web I find that this new feature is necessary when we have new models of WLC 5760 or 3850 in the network and must contact 5508.

  So my question is in my current scenario, I only 5508

  1. can I activate this function and use this function between 5508 - If Yes, in the configuration, I just create mobility than in the old configuration groups and it should work right or is there additional configuration is required?

  Also in my network current fflexconnect is activated and allow this will affect my flexconnect?

  If you want to, you can migrate to the new mobility without any problem, but must be allowed to all of your WLC at the same time. This will have no impact for your flex-connect communication or configuration and influence the way in which the tunnels between of WLC are under construction. No changes are necessary in this configuration either.

  If your WLC mgt vlan does not enable DHCP, yes you can try to manually configure an IP address like below (IP & Gateway and WLC mgt IP info that you need to change to according to your intellectual property regime). If the keyword CAPWAP does not use LWAPP keyword in the syntax of the command

  LWAP #debug capwap console cli

  LWAP #capwap ap 10.10.110.5 ip address 255.255.255.0

  LWAP #capwap ap ip default gateway - 10.10.110.1

  IP LWAP ap controller 10.10.110.10 #capwap

  LWAP #debug lwapp console cli
