  These are "not" the same products :) Here is the hierarchy;

  WLC - manages AP

  WCS - manages multiple WLC

  WCS Navigator - manages multiple WCS

  Someone interfered with my Firefox settings and goofed a bit. Now the orange Firefox button and the Navigation toolbar are on the same line/line, as shown in the image below. Can you help me with the Firefox orange button at the top of the Navigation toolbar (as usually is the case)?

  Thank you very much! I had this same problem. I'd rather have my tabs at the top, in line with the orange. For some reason any that an add-on reset my 'browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar' to false, which looked horrible and wasted a whole bar of space by the presence of a large space empty on the top of my screen. It fixed my problem!

• WLC primary and secondary - Config DHCP Scope

  WLCs: AIR-CT2504-K9

  We have therefore two 2504 s each in separate locations. Inside of each of the Access Points, we have configured one of the controllers of the WLC primary and the other as the secondary WLC tab HA. So my question has to do with the internal DHCP configured in each of the controllers scope.

  We only use the internal DHCP server of the WLCs for our Public Wi - Fi network. And I was wondering if I should configure the DHCP scope even in two controllers, or if they are supposed to be different?

  For example:

  Elementary WLC - extended DHCP: 10.12.202.110 - 10.12.202.200
  Secondary WLC - extended DHCP: 10.12.202.xxx - 10.12.202.xxx?

  The way in which access points are configured, they should only be attached to a controller or another. So that the way its set up it shouldn't be some APs on a single controller and some of the other. They should all be attached to the WLC even at any time. So, given that I can configure the same scope on both controllers?

  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  Yes, you can set up this way, as long as you don't expect not so much operational WLC & customer service at the same time.

  If you think to expand this network of comments, I suggest you stay away from using DHCP internal like these WLCs has ever made to use as complete apart from entire DHCP servers in large scale networks.

• When to use WLC? And why?

  I've never used autonomous Access Points (AIR-AP1242G-E-K9 | 802.11 g integrated auto AP;) RP - TNC; ETSI Cnf) and now I have to make a

  new installation for a client and this model is end of life.

  I found in the web the substitute is AIR-SAP1602E-E-K9, but there is a template controlled AIR-CAP1602E-E-K9.  I've never used a WLC

  and I don't know what are the benefits of its use. I think that this customer is good to use a controller as a user but I have

  to advise the best choice for him.

  Could someone send me a link where I can learn the difference between working with WLC or without?

  And... Whats is the controller for AIR-CAP1602E-E-K9?

• Clock synchronization on WLC ISE and AD

  Hello

  I'm stuck in NTP, deployed WLC CWA using ISE which is integrated into AD. I tried to use AD as source NTP but no luck (universal fact that Cisco uses NTP while Microsoft uses SNTP).

  The question is, if the time is not synchronized between WLC, ISE and AD; redirect Web stopped work and no authentication takes place.

  I tried software installting Meinbergglobal NTP to distribute time to my Cisco devices. It works with Cisco devices, but it acts as master and does not synchronize its time with AD.

  I am trying to find a way to sync with Microsoft Cisco, is it possible in this world to do?

  DO NOT USE MS NTP/SNTP as a source of time is valid.  MS is the WORST method SNTP/NTP because MS does NOT conform to the NTP/SNTP standards.

  I really * really * wish that there are keyboard shortcuts for the back and the navigation arrows forward (in the black bar above the film, used to navigate in the recent files, collections etc.). It's really something that I use a lot and these arrows are small

• Differences between a WLC, WLSE and WCS

  Small question:

  I'm working on a proposal for a new WLAN infrastructure for a certain local government entities.  We use a Cisco WLC 5508.  I wonder what would be appropriate for additional management functions... Basically, I wonder if it would be wise to use a WLSE device... or is a WLSE basically a watered down Wireless LAN Controller?  I also read that the use of WCS is really large deployments... that I proposed would be 1142 32 laps with a WLC...  The client wants to know if there are tools or equipment and the benefits/disadvanteges both management software.  They want all these features... reports which told me in another post that WCS is what would be necessary for these functions.

  WLC = wireless LAN controller.  It is a device of Layer2 AP will join and get their configuration and code.

  WCS = wireless control system.  It is a server on the LAN that uses SNMP for monitoring and the creation of models of the WLC.

  WLSE wireless LAN Solutions engine =.  This is used to monitor and model for autonomous AP.

  So, for what your customer is looking for, WLC 5508 need a WCS.  WCS is were all reporting will come from.

  Is there a way to add controller dymanic interface using WCS and push down to the primary and secondary WLC?

  Can I use the same IP address for the dynamic interface on both controllers? Basically, this IP address use to request DHCP for clients.

  IP address of all dynamic interfaces must be different form each WLC. I add interfaces manually and don't use WCS.

• Since I use windows 8.1, menu bars and both navigation bars has ar of bookmark list in very small characters with low contrast.

  File, editing, display etc. are letters as is the bar of navigation and when I look in my favorites, they're too small letters of light in very low light. I need to expand in order to see them. Either way, the same thing happens on Microsoft Explorer, because I downloaded 8.1. It was not so in Windows 8.

  I posted this on the VERY long discussion 2.0... I wonder if anyone heard WHY Google was unable to develop a version of Google Navigation (with audio turn-by-turn directions) that would work with 1.5? Only that would make many people happy?

  I would say it is probably because the 1.6 has built in better speech recognition and TTS (text-to-speech). Among other things, I'm sure. This is one of the main reasons I want an update.

• Vista has started with a normal window then changes to one with zoom 150 and no navigation

  After my computer did an automatic update, the screen changed.  It starts with a normal screen but then goes to a 150% or more with no navigation or any level of zoom in the status bar.  So cannot use Control Panel controls to adjust the screen resolution, want to do?   Do not have original install disks that the computer came preloaded.

  For the moment, we have the following design:

  Head office

  -Network 192.168.49.0/24

  -WLC 4402 Version 4.2.61.0

  -3 x LAP1252

  -Windows PDC with Active Directory, DHCP server and data storage local

  -ACS Version 3.2 for RADIUS and RADIUS authentication--> external DB to Active Directory

  Remote site

  -Network 192.168.50.0/24

  -2 x LAP1252

  -Wep SSID

  -Windows PDC with Active Directory, DHCP server and data storage local

  Connection between the seat and the Remote Site

  -2 Mbit ADSL

  The problem is, wireless on the remote site clients get an IP DHCP 192.168.49.0/24 Beach headquarters. Users at the remote site

  most of the time only using the local database server in the remote offices. With the actual design connection ADSL 2 Mbit passes traffic hole the

  WLC at Headquarters and at the remote site. It works but it is not that efficient.

  The problem could be solved with HREAP, but what I think is, that it is not possible to have the same SSID to Headquarters and remote site with different VLAN.

  How can I achieve this, the clients at the remote site to connect to the same SSID (wep or wpa), get an ip address from the remote site (192.168.50.0) DHCP server

  and the traffic is enabled locally.

  Yes, putting the HREAP remote access point mode will allow the WLAN even to be available on the access point but the traffic could tip locally to the AP instead of in the tunnel to the controller. After the AP mode HREAP you re so what VLAN you want traffic for each WLAN to immerse on for this AP.

• WLC 4404 and high availability

  If I have 2 WLC 4404 are supported 100 Access Points for one and I installed 110 Access Point, I can you decide when a WLC down who are the 10 Access Point which must lie down?

  Let me understand your question.

  You have two WLC and can support 100 AP. You have 110 APs. If one of the WLC must go down, how you can configure or say which 10 AP will not be able to join?

  If this is your question, here are some solutions I can think.

  1. H-HARVEST. If you enable REAP H to your AP, when one or ALL of your WLCs must go down, the AP will be able to operate as if the WLC has increased. The exception-to-the-rule is to NOT reload the AP and it should be good.

  2. you can configure, CLI only, 100 AP s primary and secondary controller. 10 AP will no config, so they will go into "limbo".
