WMC Guide think download is constantly underway

I have been using a laptop computer dedicated to running of Windows Media Center and connected to my TV via HDMI for the past two years with no problems.  The week of DST in time change I changed the security on the laptop computer of Microsoft Security Essentials at 360 Total Security.  After this week, I noticed that the guide was not updated and when I try to manually update the guide through 'Get latest Guide listings' I get the response "download the latest announcements of Guide. You will be notified when the download is complete. ».  After days of this, I ran mcupdate.exe and the guide was populated by nine days of data for the internet connection works, but after that the answer "download the latest announcements of Guide. You will be notified when the download is complete. "is still there.  I suspect a flag or switch is defined in a file into believing that a download guide is underway at WMC.  Nobody knows where and how I can reset this indicator?

I removed 360 Total Security and returned to Microsoft Security Essentials.

I also stopped and restarted WMC in configuration/program Panel and features but 'download the latest announcements of Guide. You will be notified when the download is complete. "is still there even if I had to reset the record and other defects directories after stop & restart WMC.

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

  1. Incorrect settings.
  2. Corrupt Windows Media Center files.

I suggest to rename the ehome folder and then try downloading again Media Center Guide. Check if it helps.

a. navigate to the location.

C:\Program Data\Microsoft\

b. Rename the ehome to ehome.old folder

    (1) you get an error during the download?

    For now I suggest you to download the latest announcements of guide manually and see if it gives any error or that the download is finished successfully.

    Follow the steps below to download the lists guide manually.

    You can configure Windows Media Center Guide lists auto update, but you can also download the latest Guide information manually.

    Method 1:

    1. on the start screen, go to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then get latest Guide listings.

    2. When prompted, select Yes to begin to download the Guide listings. You are notified when the update of the Guide is complete. You can continue to use Windows Media Center and the Guide while new Guide information is being downloaded.

    (1) close Media Center
    2) click on the start menu, choose run and type cmd
    (3) run the command regsvr32.exe atl.dll

    (5) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched
    (6) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer command
    (7) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr
    (8) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer command
    (9) executes the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe/regserver
    (10) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer command
    (11) runs the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe/regserver
    (12) restart the computer
    (13) restart Media Center

    You can try the following steps
     
    1. Insert your data DVD in a DVD player. Note: DVD must be a DVD-R or DVD - RW that was created for the storage of files. Cannot copy DVDs manufactured in series with videos or software on them.
    2. open the contents of the DVD by going to the 'Computer' utility and then double-clicking on the DVD. You should see all the data files
     
    3. connect your USB to the computer, and then open it in the same way that you opened your data DVD in the previous step.
     
    4. place the USB window and the disc data side by side. Then highlight the files that you want to copy by left-clicking with your mouse and then dragging the marquee on the icons of file you want.
     
    5 drag the icons highlighted in the window of data DVD to the USB drive window. A box appears stating that a file transfer is in progress. Once this window disappears, the file transfer is complete, and you can disconnect your USB and remove the DVD data disc tray.
     
    You can also try copying the data from the DVD, and then transfer to the USB key.

    I'm sorry, but Apple no longer produces a printable User Guide. It is available in a web manual, or on the iOS device in Safari, or alternatively, you can access it in iBooks.

  • After that my guide is downloaded, the channels are all changed? Help!

    I just recently moved and plugged my cable on my tour of office of Vista (HP) and climbed all of windows media center and after running the download including the Guide, I went to record some programs and tried the and selected record. Then, after a while, I decided to go through the canal to ensure that they paired with what the computer says, the channels have been, and they are not. So now my programs will not register because of the channels. How can I fix it? I can't find the help section in Windows Media Center. I can't even predict what the actual exposure channel is on, and in any case which should match. Please help me as soon as possible!

    On the Windows Media Center start screen, go to tasks, click settings, click TV, click on Guide:-

    To change the settings of the existing channels in the Guide, click Edit channelsand then follow the instructions.

    I learned recently that for zip 80528 Fort Collins co digital cable (Comcast), Comcast has changed the flow for Bravo and Bravo HD on the side is and West Coast feeds.  Unfortunately, all of these channels (180 and 851) guide are not valid.  What is the procedure for reporting these problems?

    Thanks for your reply, but I spent some time with support online yesterday which has managed to make me sort, I do not have a UPDATER AAM file, I could not delete the contents of the OOBE folder either, I had to rename the folder creative cloud. I was sent then the application manager - who was then updated to the new until I'm able to get apps. Long-term, but it worked. I tried the procedure you have above, just not all the steps worked for me. Thanks to the Member of the support staff who helped me, I have been literally pulling my hair out!

    At running the Adobe downloader all night and it appeared at about 1.5 GB of download of program elements. Now there is no sign of the files of the program or a Setup exe file. Any ideas how to check to see if it has downloaded and if necessary, to get the files to install and run?

    If this isn't in the user folder, then you can have customized your location.  I recommend you to download the software again and you will have a file name exact, you can search for institutions.

    If you prefer you can also use the steps listed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to launch a direct download.

    Overview: Windows Media Center (WMC) is provided to ads of TV via the WMC Guide, of Zap2It.  If you go on the website of Zap2It TV listings *, about 2 weeks ago from future TV ads.  When the WMC Guide is set to day, & functions correctly, these same 2 weeks of TV programs are downloaded into WMC.  If we could use the Zap2It site to schedule the recording of television programs, then we would not need the WMC Guide to download.

    It is very early Sunday asof this announcement; the WMC Guide didn't really update for about 9 days... There's only TV ads through Tuesday, in about 3 days.  The update of the WMC Guide seems to work fine, it connects with the site or the source or whatever/where he gets the Guide of... but they say, "The PSE Listing is already up to date", even if, obviously, is NOT "up-to-date".  I'm getting now, 'you only have 3 days of registration!, you must update the Guide!' scare-messages every time I go to the WMC, and I click on update the Guide, but all also when I manually run it, just as when WMC runs automatically update Guide, it isn't actually updated!

    To be clear: I use Win7Pro64bit; -ALL-all the updates, Windows software & if not, are daily checked & constantly kept up to date; There has been no changes to the computer, & it works like a dream; WMC works the same, the update of the WMC Guide works exactly the same, the only exception being that, "that the EPG Listings package is already updated" thing, when he has actually updated the WMC Guide.

    So Please do not post those standard, boilerplate answers for updating Windows & or by disabling caches & or such other hoax explosive...  The problem is almost certainly with the Microsoft, Windows, WMC, Zap2It interface.

    You can go on the site Web of Zap2It * yourself!, go!, see for yourself!, the next 2 weeks of TV programs are here!...

    ... then, why are not those TV ads- already & always present -are actually downloaded to WMC?, why isn't the WMC Guide updated?

    I'm NOT an expert on these things, but so are ' twisted my arm, I'd suggest the possibility of you as I did to RW:

    «If you still have your Windows OS CD maybe you could try to remove & then reinstalling Windows Media Center entirely?...» I don't know there's a way to do it, but you do not want explicit instructions of any part/whatever ' one who knows what they have everything.  Also, if it is possible to do a total removal/uninstall & reinstall, - vs - a sort of "repair", I'd do the full thing, that simple "repair" can let WMC Guide EPG old and outdated files that could bring you a right of return to the same sorry state of affairs! »

  • Windows 7 Media Center will not download the new guide listings

    I am really frustrated. WMC will not download the new guide listings and I tried all the patches that are supposed to be that I found in this forum. I also tried the system restore, which did not fix the problem. Obviously the problem is not affected by the restore program.

    I was able to determine that there is some kind of corruption of the WMC files that Windows 7 can not solve (according to the event log).

    I'm a bit exasperated at the tenacity of this problem. Y at - it a reliable fix or I need to reinstall Windows 7?

    You may be able to force a manual update. Do an update (weekly) to TV Guide through the menu system.
