WMDB files deleted

Recently, I tried to convert MP4 files so they could work on my xbox 360... I followed a guide and it included all of the deleted WMDB files... As soon as I did, all my music from my computer was deleted... Most of the music is downloaded through Azerus and all the files are still there, but the only thing in them is a system information file. I thought I blew it and would have to re download them all again... When I finished downloading the first mixtape, I launched it with Windows Media Player, but there was nothing there... So, all my music has disappeared from my computer, and I can't download any... How can I either music on my computer, or how I can be able to download some?

Hi Robert337,

Given that you have removed the WMDB files the database could corrupt. Therefore, you may have to rebuild the database to fix the problem.

Click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

1. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

2. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

This file stores a list of files from previous version of Firefox that are no longer needed or supported in the current version of Firefox. This file is only a few KB and it is best not to delete files in the Firefox program folder to avoid update problems. If the required files are missing or modified with a update Firefox will download the full version (approximately 10 MB) instead of a small incremental update which is usually only a few hundred KB.

  • Deleted emails are not going in the file 'delete '.

I have Windows 98 and you use Outlook Express for e-mail.  In the last days, I find that when 'remove' email, thinking it will in the file 'delete' - he's not here.  Only those e-mails I delete without opening (spam or readings) go to the file to delete.  Where are the others, and how can we fix this problem?

First: discover | Current view. Make sure Show all Messages is enabled.

Remembering that Win98 has not been supported over the years, you may just have a little corruption of dbx file.

Move the messages you want to record off deleted items and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there if you write other files on the device.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
written on the memory stick immediately, if you did not
already. Download an undelete program (and here's one:)

How to recover files deleted from permanentaly in win XP?

In addition to monocrisis, you will want to take note of the date to which it has been deleted from the Recycle Bin.

This will be useful when you are looking for the deleted file, as any recovery software will show you all that can be recovered. You will probably have a long list of files returned and knowing that date will help search what is returned by the software you choose.

    Good luck!

If the E: drive is an external hard drive, it will not appear in the Recycle Bin properties.

If you delete all the files from the external hard drive, it won't be in the trash. The files will be get permanently deleted from the external drive.
