Word blocks middle of creation of PDF - Word 2003 Acrobat 9.3.0

I have a new PC and a clean new installation of CS5 Design Permuim, including 9 Arobat. The organization is still using Office 2003 and no path upgrade in sight for this. Myself and several colleagues with the same profile of software are currently experiencing frequent problems with Word crashing. PDF creation environment

This has always been a problem with the ocassional Word file in Acrobat 8, but the Distiller has always worked as an alternative - NOT this time!

PDF Maker gives no error message, just that Word has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Distiller produces the following message, and then completely freezes. Then I have to force quit Word to leave!

_______________________________________________________

%% [ProductName: Distiller] %.
%% [Error: syntaxerror;] [OffendingCommand: - nostringval-] %.

Battery:
/mF_OTF_V

%% [Flushing: rest of job (end of file) will be ignored] %%.
%% [Warning: PostScript error.] No PDF file produced. ] %%
_______________________________________________________

Not all documents are affected, but I can remove almost all of the content of the infected document and it always causes the error.

I tried to repair Acrobat - no change.

Another strange symptom - after each accident, the default printer on the computer has changed in Adobe PDF format.

I can do successfulkly the PDF document on another computer that has not been upgraded to Acrobat 9. The rest of the settings are the same on both machines, they run both an environment standard organization, with the same verion of the word etc.

Can anyone suggest how to fix or at least isolate the cause of the problem?

Please update to the latest version of Acrobat 9 which is 9.4.2.

Also know us

(a) office 2003 flavor: Standard or professional?

(b) OS flavor? Also if it is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Also, as you have mentioned that "not all documents are affected", so we would need one of your file assigned to analyze the issue. Can you please share the file? You can use acrobat.com to share the file.

Thank you

Vishal

  • I have two docs pdf I used Acrobat to convert word documents.  How can I extract a single page of a doc to be inserted into the other doc?

I have two docs pdf that I converted into Word using Acrobat Pro documents.  How to extract a single page of the first RFSO and insert it into the second doc?  When I "select all" he seized the entire document.  I need to take pages, other pages and change some of the text.

    HI djlarp,

Try to triple - click the text you want to select - it can sometimes be difficult to select text in a document converted. If this does not work, it could be that the PDF document is created from a scanned document and OCR is not enabled when you converted the document. (However, OCR is activated by default when converting via ExportPDF site.)

If you are unable to select text by triple-click, let us know. I'd be happy to look more closely at your files.

  • Word 2003 Save in pdf

I want Word 2003 to be able to save documents as read-only pdf files.  Do I need Acrobat and if so what version please?

Any version of Acrobat will do (the choices are only Standard or Pro, in)

in all cases). It allows to convert the Word file in PDF format, and you can

apply the security settings that you want to make it 'read-only' (you

may need to define a little better, if), using a password.

  • Page numbers appear as 5 1 and 2 of 2121 in a PDF file created from a Word 2003 document

Merge us several Word 2003 documents into 1 larger document that we have and then convert to PDF format.  In the Word document page numbers display correctly - 1 of 21, 21 2, 21 3, etc.  We then convert this merged to PDF document by double-clicking the file name and choose "Convert to Adobe PDF".  For those of us with Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.1.3, page numbers in the converted PDF file display as 1 of 1, 2, 1... 21 of 1.  Those with Acrobat Professional 8.1.3, they appear as 1 of 21, 2121 2, 3 of 212121, etc., each page by adding another number of total pages in total.  There is no change in the result if using v8.0.0 or 8.1.4 anyone have ideas?

Open the Word document merged and printing to the Adobe PDF printer worked!

We had tried to launch Acrobat and create the PDF that elsewhere, but there was no difference. Never thought to try to print to the PDF printer...

I'll also try the upgrade of my office for 2007 and see if that solves the problem, allowing us to "convert to PDF".

Thank you very much for your help, Bill.

  • Make a PDF of non-standard size of Microsoft Word 2003 on pc

I have Acrobat 8 Professional (pc, operating system Windows XP) and want to know how to make a pdf from Microsoft Word (2003) where the size of my document remain as they are, a non-standard size, such as 5.5 "x 8.5". All the choices of "paper size" is standard, and if I check "Custom" and type the non-standard dimensions, it does not work. In other programs, such as InDesign, I can make a pdf to any size of document I want without any problem. Does anyone know how to make this work for Word on pc?

You can create a customized for Acrobat page size.

    In Word:

    1. File > print (choose AdobePDF) > Properties.
    2. On the Properties of the Document Adobe PDF tab, choose Add beside the size of Page Adobe PDF.
    3. Type a name for your new custom page size and type in your dimensions.
    4. Click Add/change to close this window, and then select your newly created in the drop-down list paper size.
    5. Click Ok to close this window
    6. Click OK to print

For a later printing, you may not redefine the page, simply choose from the menu drop down.

  • Windows 10 - MS Word causes Acrobat close

New laptop on Windows 10; i5 / 8G.  Installed Microsoft Office 16 and Acrobat DC.  Acrobat open PDF files correctly.  MS word will open word documents.  Switch to acrobat and pdf is closed.  If I reverse the order to open a doc word and then try to open a pdf file, acrobat "flashes" for a second and then closes.  I tried without downgrading to Office 2007 and Acrobat XI, known exactly the same problems.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi paulw49314826 ,

Could you let us know if you see an error message when Acrobat is closed?

Flashes of Acrobat and closes only when you switch between MS Word and Acrobat?

Have you tried with other applications?

    Try following the steps:

1 reset the preferences file - close Acrobat then navigate to C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0, move the 11.0 folder to another location (for example-temp)

To open the temp folder, hold down the Windows key and press R on your keyboard > This will launch the Run dialog box > temp type and press ENTER.

If App data is not visible above, launch Windows Explorer > click the view tab in the toolbar > then click Options (on the far right), this will launch the Folder Options window > click the view tab > under Advanced settings, search for, and then click Show hidden files, folders, and disks then click OK, then launch Acrobat.

Step 2 - If 1 does not work, remove temporary files, in dialogue box(Windows+R) run, type temp, and then press enter > This will open the temp folder, select all content in the temp folder and delete them, restart the computer, and then launch Acrobat.

    Step 3 - If 2 doesn't work, find and launch Eula.exe, navigate to C:\Program (x 86) | Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat, run Eul.exe and accept the license agreement.

    4. If step 3 does not work, try to activate the admin and then login account admin account and launch Acrobat.

Visit this link on how to enable the built-in Windows administrator account: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/kb/555910

Let us know if the above given steps worked.

    Thank you

  • I reinstall CS4 after failure of hard drive and everything works except Acrobat 9 Pro. I'm under El Capitan on MacbookPro. I reinstalled Acrobat but when I open I only get Word to Acrobat in the finder without options and it does not open.

I reinstall the CS4 Master Collection after failure of the card logical and all work EXCEPT Acrobat 9 Pro. I'm under El Capitan on a Macbook Pro. The program worked with El Capitan until the logic board failure - I use it every day.  I reinstalled the entire Collection, but when I open I get that Word to Acrobat in the finder without other menus - the application does not open. As a first step, I get an error message.

Acrobat has detected there are missing components

    Adobe Pdf Finder

    Adobe PDF Viewer plug.

I tried to uncheck the boxes, but no difference.

How can I get an operational program again? If Acrobat Pro 9 is no longer supported, how to get a version supported by software that works on my computer?

    Thank you.

Thanks for the explanation. I actually have to install Acrobat and it now works. I downloaded and installed Adobe Reader XI (I think, http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/11.x/11.0.02/en_US/AdbeRdr11002_en_US.dmg ) and opened the program. I noticed that after I opened the new drive, my Adobe Reader 9 program began to work. After that, I tried to open Acrobat and instead of getting the error 6 message that I had before, I had an error on a question of license that would require me to uninstall and reinstall the software. Once I did these steps my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro started working! Don't know why my program, but it is fully functional again. I hope it helps someone else, I have why I came to answer.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 2015 supports Microsoft Word 2003?

I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1 to the 2015 edition.  Previously, I had the toolbar tabs in Excel and Word 2003 that allowed me to CLICK and save it as a .pdf.  This seems to have disappeared.  The last stop Pro supports Win2003?  If so, how?

    [Title edited for clarity... MOD]

    Hello

Acrobat CC is not compatible with MS Word 2003, please check the compatibility of the web browsers and applications of PDFMaker.

    Kind regards

  • conversion of Word 2003 has changed format

Converted a manuscript from Word 2003 to PDF. The PDF format/margin changed slightly, resulting in a different pagination. How can I work around this?

Probably what happened, is that the PDF printer resolution is different from your default printer. When you change the DOC file, change the printer to the Adobe PDF printer and go through the WORD file to get the pages as you wish. Then the resulting PDF file should be the same. The cash flow and document best flow for the selected printer, WORD usually. So if you change the printer before printing (or select PDF Maker), WORD reformats the output document. It's the difference between a word processor and page layout program.

  • MS Word 2003 - highlighting of problem

Hi, I have a problem with Word 2003, I have in the Office 03 pro edition.

When I drag the text in selection, type something and does not replace it, it pastes just the new text in front of the selection. Pressing return back also is not delete it. the only way to remove the text is struck Del before typing anything to select. I tried to put my office to repair CD back in and hit, and I tried to hit reinstall (which replaces all files and probably the registry data without having to uninstall first, it no differently to a new installation done work around the stuff of product keys and go to the validation of the previous installation), but after one of the people the problem is still there.

If someone had a similar problem or did someone knows a solution?

A similar problem happened on my laptop and it was only a problem of setting.
If the Overtype option is activated in the word the text will be supplanted (deleted) during the strike.
If you want to use this option, you will need to enable it. The option is called short OVR.

If you want to learn more about this similar function I advise to use the help option that is located above the toolbar.
