• Should work with Captivate 6 content hosted on IIS 8 streaming video?

  I met and solved a similar problem here: http://forums.Adobe.com/message/5065139 , but now I am hosting my content on a production server that runs Windows Server 2012 (IIS 8) instead of Windows Server 2008 (IIS 7.5).

  The problem is that I integrated into my Captivate projects FLV videos, and when I opened the project after their publication on the web server, I get a connection error where the video should be.

  I checked the MIME types on my server, and the FLV and MP4 are present. I tried to change to match what I come up with in my previous thread, but that no longer works.

  Someone there publish such content in IIS 8? Am I missing something here?

  This was due to a mistake on my side. When I checked the MIME types, I saw. FLV and reading. F4V. After you have added the corresponding MIME type. F4V, everything has worked.

• How import and continue working with old projects iDVD?

  I have some old files of project iDVD since 2008.  I never burned real DVD on their part.  At the time I played against them directly on the mobile phone.

  Today, I have an iMac with El Capitan OS X Version 10.11.3.  There iDVD 7.1.2 version (1158).

  I tried to open the older files with the new iDVD.  The program opens and is complaint of the queue at all but as far as I can tell him simply ignore.  With the program running, I find no evidence of any content.  It is stuck on the themes of the page.  No other option doesn't show anything.

  Am I missing something?

  More generally, how can I get inside these files?  I would like to have access to the content in them and actually burn a DVD.  Is this possible?

  You are able to create a new project with a theme? You have all installed themes, from version 1 thru 7 iDVD iDVD?  If not maybe the project is an older version that you have installed.

  To get inside the packaging of project control (right) - click on the file and select view the contents of the Package on the shortcut menu:

  

  However, if you have added movie files to the project and they are not coded, they will not be in the package.  They only should be indicated. If the assets have been encoded, they will be in the Contents/Resources/MPEG.nobackup folder but will be missing the audio.  These files will be look like this and play videos only in Quicktime Player:

  

  

• How can I get the Preloader to work with my project (leading edge)?

  I carefully followed the instructions to implement a simple gif preloader for my fairly large project. After hours of tortuous review, I still can't find why gif preloader does not appear. Can anyone help?  The project is to:

  I use Adobe Captivate project for a possible project of storyboard.  Trying to change the background color, I found themes and my library and the color picker.

  It's confusing, perfectly aware of this.

  My library is which can be used or created in other applications of CC. Libraries are common to many applications like Photoshop, Illustrator... CC to mention two of the most well known, very useful if you want to reuse the same elements of assets and palettes of colors on these applications. If you don't have a CC account and work only with Captivate (project and full), it doesn't have much meaning, except perhaps for the storage of the color themes (attention: not the full colors of Captivate theme palettes) you create within the Captivate project (not only in the app or color Adobe Office application).  But once you're in Captivate itself, you'll need create a complete theme color palette. I wrote a few articles on the creation of such a range in Captivate, but need to update because it is now possible to save a palette created in color in a file, the only way to import it into complete Captivate. I thought that the + button would add a color scheme or a color chosen from the library, but it does not work for me. I'll explore more, because I have not used the Captivate project since I bought a Pro Surface where I have access to the application of the comprehensive CP. If I find it, post on the sign more +.

  Indeed, you are able to link a project to another. There are different ways to bind. You can stop the slide, on what you are, a link to a new project and interact in a new window, and then close the new window and back where you left it when you logged. Or, you can simply replace the contents of the existing window with the new project. You can do this in a few different places.

  As the action of entry or exit in the slide properties

  A button or click box

  As the end of your project option

  As an option of connecting a Question slide or a Quiz success or failure

  A Flash Widget or Gizmo, you should insert on a slide

• Publication and display locally a captivate with javascript project custom

  Hi all

  Ive had a problem that I can not work.

  I started working with javascript, so when I want to listen to excerpts of the document, I use F12, which works correctly.

  Also, when I use captivate to publish my projects directly on my site it works fine also.

  However when I publish locally, when I go to view the output, javascript does not seem to load.

  Pretty funny. The same file when downloaded on my site and then seen it works fine.

  What is the cause? And I can do to fix this?

  Mathew, you must add the location of publication record as a trusted location in your Flash Global security settings.

  Do you work with grids in Adobe Captivate? I am trying to create a style guide for our online learning material. I want to propose a grid system and wonder of all e-Learning professionals working with these for Captivate.

  Not with the 'grid', but with guides, available only in 9.0.1.320.

• First cases project works with the RED files

  First of all, I must say that I don't know if the RED files have something to do with the problem.

  I'm editing this project for about a day. I close the first CC and come back, and then all of a sudden all the thumbnails timeline on all of my sequences are distorted. When I try to play the audio plays very well and the playhead to scroll along like nothing is wrong. I get no video playback, however.

  Move the playback cursor to a different location on a timeline shows the good image in the preview area of the project, but only after several seconds (10-15). If I play a long enough sequence, the image in the preview window will change now and then - it's almost like it's having a hard time to process the images.

  The problem with it is I'm working on this project for a day with no reading problems at all. Suddenly all this stops.

  I started a new project and imported the project failing inside - sequences, images, everything. The new project has worked perfectly for a few hours... and then came back to the same problem.

  Someone has an idea what is happening? I'm a little worried since this edition (of course) is a super fast turnaround, and I can't work on it when he does this.

  Here's what those inclined or distorted thumbnails on timeline look like:

  I use a RED ROCKET card (just updated the firmware), and the film is about a Drobo playback via ethernet. The film plays in RedCine with no problems. I'm really confused on this one.

It feels like a time bomb, BUT at least it works now - in some respects better than before.

  Better than before: if ever, I made a change to the ripple on the edge of a clip before, I have to wait for PP to catch up with me--he would charge in-frame/out-frame preview that appears usually when you drag the edges of the clip. I pass so fast that I realize my edit, wait, see the overview of the framework on-board flash on and off the screen and then move on. After reinstalling, the overview of framework for edge seems to work how it was intended. Hooray!

  Fear, but relieved. At least for now.

  Some of the techniques of advanced web programming cause Captivate Miss trigger events to capture a new slide.

  (I.e. different forms of AJAX, JavaScript libraries like BackBase, Rich Internet applications built in Flex & published as Flash SWF, Web sites as the old techniques used as plugins and obsolete HTML commands as redirects can all cause Captivate respond differently to these interactions.)

  The keyboard command using manual is the best way to ensure the capture of a slide, the default value is PrintScreen, but your system may have this change!

  I'm in the construction of several projects of test patterns by using different settings and techniques to capture to determine which provides the best results.

  For large projects, I stated that the purchase of a license to Captivate for a laptop to share with SMEs. I've been working with them to create a list of procedures and to teach them the best technique to capture the basic materials.

  We transferred while they captured on a shared drive, and I was able to copy the files locally for editing.

  When a new version of the tool was released while we were edit materials, the SME could again capture the procedures that had changed and I could copy captions to the file saved.

  It may not match your current project, but I however it should be mentioned on the forum.

• HTML5/JavaScript (WebObject) Communication with Captivate 9

  Me and my company I work for, trying now for 2 days how it can work... I hope someone can help me or we can do it together

  My goal is to have a file imported into HTML5 slide, with an animation created in Adobe Flash, which can for example jump to next slide. (To keep things simple for now )

  What I've done so far:

  1. I created a HTML5 Canvas in Adobe Flash CC. There, I created the animation I want to and he has published in a folder or a HTML5 project.

  2. I zipped it and it imported into Captivate, it works fairly well.

  3. I can click on it with a simple EventListener (which I have added Flash) via this.myMovieClip.addEventListener ("click", fl_MouseClickHandler.bind (this)); in Captivate. It works well!

  
  

  4. now, I wanted to add the ability to click on it and go to the next slide in the JavaScript code that is created when I publish the Flash file. Given that HTML5 and ActionScript3 does not have the same syntax, I wonder how its possible...

• Problem during the upgrade of Captivate 8 to 9 Captivate projects

  I am trying to edit a project using 9 Captivate that I had previously maintained using Captivate 8.  But something seems to happen to the peak action.

  I've been using a conditional action advanced on the first screen, but after that I open the file and save it with Captivate 9, the tip action stops working properly.  When I looked (no editing has been done to it), it had become a Standard (as opposed to a conditional Action Advanced) tip Action.

  In this photo, I have 8 Captivate and Captivate 9 open at the same time (2 Captivate different files), just so that you can see the differences.

  Initially cela (and others) advanced actions have been created using Captivate 7, but I had no problem once I moved to 8 Captivate.

  

  I wonder if when I first opened a Captivate 8 9 Captivate file, should I go through each advanced action and re - update before I save the file .cptx for the first time in 9 Captivate?

• Problem with Captivate 8 and SumTotal learning LMS Maestro-

  I get white screen when lance course published under the title of SCORM 2004 using Captivate 8.  All the publication settings are identical to those used with Captivate 7 and all classes of properties and parameters are the same in the LMS as course published using Captivate 7. At the launch of course, instead of the opening of the route screen, a white frame appears showing the playback bar course and LMS navigation bar. Logon screen does not appear until the user clicks on the button play on the PlayBar. No idea why this is happening?  Here is a screenshot of the white frame.

  Because it worked, obviously, the Chrome issue 36 comes break HTML5 output.  I hope that the patch solves everything.

  You can use Captivate 8 to open the Captivate 7 CPTX files, but this means while they are upgraded to Cp8 format.

  The main thing you should be aware of the words of the upgrade to the new version of Cp8, is that you cannot automatically Cp7 projects upgraded to use the new HTML5 format Cp8 reagent.  To completely rebuild your project.  However, you can still use normal inadmissible HTMl5 and HTM/SWF output.  EXE is no longer an option with Cp8.
