  I think what is happening here is that 3ds Max does not all the color management. Most programs that use color (including After Effects and Photoshop) management assume that a PNG will be in the video space and an EXR in linear space. If 50% gray in PNG format is 0.5 (127 in the 8-bit 0-255) during EXR is around 0.18. Unless you set things properly, 3ds Max will not do that, but write 0.5 EXR and PNG. Since After Effects is expected to 0.18, the EXR will appear too bright.

  If you want EXR to resemble the PNG, the simple way is to keep the project space the value None to work and check preserve RGB on the EXR.

  The ideal workflow is to preview that your Max is rendered with a gamma of 2.2 applied during the creation of your scene. Which is what After Effects is by default when you import an EXR.

  Hello, I'm new to CS and have been a little different apprenticeship programs in recent months about the post-production.  I am mainly using Premier Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.  I noticed there are tons of different ways to work both within and between these programs through the CS package.  Because there are so many ways to achieve a result in the end, I was uncertain, what is the right way to modify or manipulate video footage.  For example, if I intend using consequences to color correction using the fineness of the color, or Matt paint and rotoscoping, should what order I open the files and modify them?  Should I start first and then use AE or do I change in AE and then import them into first?  I noticed that not all changes to EI are accepted at first. Same question goes with all edits to images in photoshop as well.  Any advice would be great or at least a direction to look for resources to help you with my workflow.  Thank you.

  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I installed After effects and bridge CC., but when I click on browse presets. I get this error "Afer effects WARNING: Adobe Bridge is not installed.

So the thing is I'm working with a Windows 10 operating system and I have tried several times to download Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, but it doesn't always let me. Premiere Pro appears as "up-to-date" but with no button to open - it is not on the programs on my computer! And with After Effects, it seems just constantly with the ' we have a problem, please come back later "without giving any code error or something like that. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall all my creative cloud Adobe programs and even the creative application of the Cloud itself. The problem is my system doesn't seem to be able to manage the software, especially when changing back and forth between the three programs mentioned above.   I need to convert a video FHD STC 2 k. I can get there with After Effects and Media Encoder and export/rendering as STC 2 k. The problem is the film needs the file marked as 'advertising' to be able to run it, and by default, it comes as a "feature".

  I couldn't find a path in the options for editing, in the media or AE encoder. Is there a way to actually change and mark / label as advertising? Or is the only way to make STC 2 k in AE and SOUL?
