  Thanks Geoff. I was finally able to locate the "." lrcat.lock' of the relevant folder to the catalog I want to open. Once I deleted it, LR5 was able to access my images. Problem solved. Thank you

• Using Lightroom with DXO Optics

  I just started using Lightroom and on the advice of a friend, he also began to use DXO Optics Pro. What I've read, DXO is used to make global changes and Lightroom for specific changes. He seems to have an overlap with characteristics between the two products. My eye is not enough NET see the differences, if any, in the settings I could achieve in DXO vs Lightroom for example of tone curve, color etc..   If you work with raw data, you have little to decide at some point that you will lose this capacity using these two products.   I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the program in compatibility mode. Check if it helps.

  (d) then try to install the program with run as administrator.

  In any case, I found the answer myself by using the process monitor.  The reason for our plugin dest does not work because it has been installed in a subdirectory under the plug-in.  Once I moved the plugin directly under the plug-ins directory, the plug-in has been loaded correctly.

  Process monitor, when you load Acrobat from Outlook, Acrobat tries to enumerate all subdirectories under the plug-in, and it finds the api (for example \sample\sample.api).  But somehow he will attempt to create the file directly under the plugin: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\sample.api and get the error NAME_NOT_FOUND.

  I worked with images on an external hard drive in the past and have never experienced performance problems in doing so. You can keep your catalog on the external drive as well. In this way, the hard drive can be moved from one computer to another if necessary.

  Animated images from your hard drive of the laptop on the external drive will not lose the settings because all settings are stored in the catalog. If you do all your withdraw in Lightroom and then the program keep track where the images and all settings are retained. But unless you are experiencing a kind of performance achieved by working with your images on an external drive, I do not think that there is no advantage in editing and then get out them externally.

  We had a 10GbE card fail in a host vitural, 5.1 U1.  We have replaced the card with the same card, but cards network never appeared in vCenter.  After hours of fiddle with it, we have installed updated drivers and the vmnic is available again in vCenter for the host.  However, the card is not responding correctly.  Network cards are available, they are down, then they disappear, then they reappear and are available again.  This cycle continues constantly.  We tried to move the map in a different location, but it doesn't change anything.

  is this a HP box? Get the vmware downloads Qlogic drivers and install it manually. We had similar problems where the manual installation of the drivers helped us to solve.
