LR CC as well as DXO Optics Pro Elite 10

I have LR CC as well as DXO Optics Pro Elite 10 as a plugin I use for raw on some images conversion. Transfer a NAVE on DXO file via file/Plugin Extras... There is a link in DXO to return a tif to LR. After the last DRES free 2015.2.1, the DXO link return no onger work. The fit is returned to the original file as it should, but not in LR. I have to import it to LR adding an extra ste in the process.

Hi jtmd,

Could you please try to reinstall DXO optics pro in Lightroom.

He worked in LR version 6.1?

Hello everyone. I work with opening 3.6. I recently installed DXO Optics pro 11 as a trial version. When I try to upload a photo to DXO in the hole (as an external editor, I have configured DXO) most of the time the following message appears: error loading, bulk prepare [m_identifier blur =], bulk to prepare, in the block prepare [scale = 0 Get Correction(). Identifier (= blur)], block prepare Exception caught in function the SD delta block prepared [m_isRawimage = false],.

I contacted support DXO, who confirmed that the only reliable way to use DXO must import a picture directly into DXO, edit and then export it to the opening. Any other suggestions please?

Suggestion - follow the advice you got support DXO

This looks like a photo like Aperture Manager and thus you cannot share photos between two databases except by exporting an import in the other - you can not use a photo managing as an external editor

  • Using Lightroom with DXO Optics

    Hello

I just started using Lightroom and on the advice of a friend, he also began to use DXO Optics Pro. What I've read, DXO is used to make global changes and Lightroom for specific changes. He seems to have an overlap with characteristics between the two products. My eye is not enough NET see the differences, if any, in the settings I could achieve in DXO vs Lightroom for example of tone curve, color etc.. I wonder if someone who has used DXO noticed if DXO manages some changes better then Lightroom and visa versa. I'm really better to do most or all of my global changes in DXO?

    Thank you

    Michael

If you work with raw data, you have little to decide at some point that you will lose this capacity using these two products. If make you correction or other work Dx0 lens, you will spend partly converted (linear DNG) to LR so that you are not really working with the raw data more. This is an important consideration in the workflow. Anyway, there was a recent thread on this on Luminous Landscape, you can choose through it, then come back and ask questions here (or here):

  • How well Apple replaces Macbook Pro parts?

    Hello world

So, Apple has said that they will replace the entire display on my Macbook Pro 2015 with the retina because sometimes they webcam is not recognized, and they think that it might be loose thread in the view. However, for some reason, I'm a little paranoid as a unit, my Macbook will not work as well as it was before the repair. I was wondering how your experiences with Apple repairs were.

    Thanks in advance.

  • In order to get updates of Firefox, I need to install El Capitan.  El Capitan work well on a MacBook Pro 2011?

Have a 2011 MacBook Pro, just received a message from Firefox saying that they support is more Yosemite 10.10.5 in a few months (updates, security updates etc.) and I need to improve my ios.  Question... are there problems with El Capitan on a MacBook Pro 2011?  Thank you

not that I've heard of. You will need to make sure that you have at least 4 GB of ram on board, except that you should be good to go. Log in the App store, grab a copy and follow the instructions on the screen. You may need to reboot at least once...

    Good luck

  • Capture One Pro 9

I've been procrastinating my opening to move away from. Which means, I always use the it.

I tried Lightroom. (bought, learned, used...) But I was not really happy with it. I was thinking that LR has probably been my best option for obvious reasons. Recently, I decided to Capture One Pro at a glance. I reached to her earlier, but he never really gave the effort I made to LR.

So I downloaded Capture One Pro 9. I also looked at some tutorials, the understanding of the user interface, how to import, shoot and manipulate a workflow detailed images to edit images.

Importing, slaughtering, export of images in C1 is very impressive. Lots of options and not as hard to use. Some differences in the termonlogy, but seems like a lot of functionality. I didn't, I might be impressed with the export feature, but I was.

The RAW processing engine is good. Handles C1 RAW images from my Fuji X - T1 significantly better than Aperture.

The ability to work with adjustment layers is optimal. I assume that since they are not a program like Photoshop, they do not have to worry about overlap. C1 is obviously not a replacement for PS

The interface is more like the opening of LR. Tabs allows you to move its features, similar to the three tabs Aperture. C1 has only three legs, but it is highly customizable. A large part of the user interface is highly customizable. You can show/hide tabs and add/remove features in tabs to create the best environment and workflow for you. Unlike LR, which is much more rigid.

You can import catalogs of the opening, even if I have not yet tried.

Above all, do not take my word for it. If you are still looking for a replacement of the opening, then I suggest that you take a look at some of the videos out there on Capture One Pro. Specifically, some of Capture One Pro webinars. They are published by the developer of the C1, Phase One. They are very comprehensive, was one of those I've watched an hour of time. While this may seem like too much time to invest in the software by looking at, I found that it was the only way to really understand what can do the SW. I read too many short articles comparing C1 to LR and aperture. Who are too brief to understand whether or not it will work for you.

I'll make the trip to C1. But I thought I'd post here for all users who have been useful for me to the thread of the time that I used the aperture opening. (no offense to all LR users, there are a lot)

I too have anxiety of separation of Aperture :-( I've always had opening since the beginning as well as Lightroom since its design as well. Always the lightroom updated to help friends etc... but mostly does all my work in opening, with detours to Photoshop if necessary and or other fact sheets...

Like you, I also tried capture one pro many versions ago... but not really has afford her cradle for daily use.

Lightroom, I think I've kept loaded on my machines out of curiosity of how it developed and what new it might be able to do... but always found living in Aperture. Since the announcement of the opening closing its doors I really tried to live outside launch to bring something back that I shot and downloaded all the applications of the trial, I read on perfect Photo Suite... that I bought... and I think I see thumbnail preview of my folders for projects of which openings copycat is what made me try , but still jumped immediately to the opening. Then exotic app above afterwards Pro2, DXO Optics Pro, 3 Mac skins Acdesee new exhibition and probably a few others I've forgotten, and finally, like you, I decided to download Capture One Pro 9. I too have a Fuji XT-1 and immediately noticed the way that C1 Pro manages its files and fell in love with the FIRST edition, layers, shadows and also the color control. Tab is a bit like the opening, but really want the interface had better spacing as Aperture, but also a picture view beautiful project. This is a feature that I will miss strongly. So far I have only imported about 6 projects Pro CP1 and have my lightroom always pointing to all my images from my Ref drive which I use for CP1 and opening. I've spent the last 3 weekends watching the video library on the Web site of the first phase of for the capture of a pro... and still debating Sessions or the catalog or both :-(somewhat of a draw to this topic... Opening this is really a game child and this is the greatest sorrow of love, if I Capture One my way get them all... these impressive images of research out of the environment and on places like iCloud photo library. or photo stream as opening... really wish there was some integration going on C1. PhotoVia by ON1 is a nice way of distance to see your images in Lightroom... path but a little longer if you use C1.

So to summarize. Capture One Pro 9 has invested me enough that I signed up for the cloud version on a monthly basis. I still have a few trips back to app opening accompanied, as my picture of affinity, intensify, Aurora HDR, Pshop and certainly the stuff like photo stream, dropbox, google reader... cloud photo via... etc... As brings you more images in the C1 Pro and I try to import a library of my opening soon, but really hoping for some features of Aperture fall into something that we can all use.

  • Bring Photos to a pro level

Photos as a Publisher can do MUCH more than you thought:

Install "External editors for Photos" from the Appstore.

Then install publishers such as DxO Optics Pro, DxO, DxO Filmpack, affinity Photo perspective...

Open a photo in photo, select "Image" from the menu and select "Show tools of change", click on "Extensions".

    See the following post:

After that, you get a list with all that Extensions considered usable in your folder Applications:

  • Leaving the opening

It is not that I really want, but I start looking for a new photo application.

Can anyone recommend a photo app to replace the opening?

With the opening being more supported, I would find a new application that can do some of the same things to me like Aperture doing now. What I need, it's Canon raw edition, change of batch of names of files etc., library and organization, and export to .jpg. I also use the magic wand for the improvement of the image.

I'm certainly not professional, just a happy amateur taking lots of photos with DSLR and the iPhone. Searched a bit on Lightroom, but I would like to hear if anyone has recommendations.

    What comes to mind is

iPhoto (which is no longer supported, but works well in ElCapitan).

Photos, which will run better is perhaps the future, and who has the ability to use third-party extensions.

Lightroom, which is at least as good as the opening and is able to read in the Aperture library. Maybe the best. BUT: Adobe has changed its model to earn income lately to treatment that makes it even more expensive that it was already in clouds... I use Lightroom 6 autonomous without cloud and I'm very satisfied, how long it will stay there, who knows.

DxO Optics Pro: very good for treatment, but not as good as Lightroom as an organizer. I use it as a plugin for Lightroom.

  • Extensions for Photos for Mac; can convert RAW Photos?

Downloaded "2016 creative Kit" on the site of macphun fairly recently so don't always do not have much with CK apps. I like the clean interface of Snapheal and intensify and had a go using these with the opening and Photos: the process is smoother with Photos; with Aperture, retouching a given photo tends to take more time to commute between a software for the back and other feels a bit 'hectic' (a closing and another opening, with the visible screen between the two...).

So I intend to spend some time at the Photos now. The question is: can you convert RAW?

Photos may develop all RAW formats supported by Mac OS X, see: Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

For a very good RAW support, you can also try DxO Optics Pro Extension for Photos.

  • Change in LR after change in PS issues

I apologize if this question has already been asked, but I was not sure even how to pick him up.  I would like to say that my problem is pixelated, but when I think of pixels I think small little buggers.  In any case, my problem occurs after I have changed an image in an external application such as PS and DXO Optics Pro 11 and bring it in LR.  It occurs only on images that were given modified and in mode develop. I'm under CC for photographers on a Windows 10 machine.  This has started to update there are a couple of CC and thought that maybe a future update would fix it.  Unfortunately, this is not 'self' corrected and I'm starting to get excited with her a little.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to do to stop this?

    Thank you

Try to go to the preferences and the Unclick "Use graphics processor" running and see if that makes a difference.

If this does not help then you may need to regenerate the preview.

  • Release of Lightroom CC 2015.6 VERY SLOW!

    Hi guys,.

I use Lightroom CC 2015.6 contacted Camera RAW 9.6 out of 10 Pro 64 bit and I have pretty decent rig: i7 6950 X (10 carrots), Asus Radeon Strix 1080 GTX, 64 GB 3200 RAM, SSD on PCI.  'Use the graphics processor' is enabled in my preferences of LR, but I don't see an important when different it is turned off.

First of all it takes LR about 3-4 seconds per image to build 1:1 previews, which means several hours if I have thousands of images from a shoot.

When I try to get a glimpse of some of the images at 100%, and to quickly move between them it works fine for maybe 5 minutes and then it starts to slow down: it takes LR seconds to create each preview and also from seconds to move between images. Furthermore, the previews are 3840px in size and average quality.

In Manager tasks I can see that at the start after start LR uses only 5-10% of my CPU resources and about 2 to 5 GB of RAM, but after a few minutes the use of RAM increases 15-20 GB and that's when LR becomes very slow. It seems he keeps each image previewed in memory and not release to the system when I close the preview.

I also tried another software to compare and other programs were significantly faster (Aftershot Pro is the fastest, followed by DXO Optics Pro and Capture One).

So it seems that this problem is strictly linked to the software and not to my material at all. Also, I noticed that after the recent updates, so I wonder if relling until one of the earlier versions might help.

Ideas to improve my experience with the latest edition of LR?

I'm really scared, because I don't really have time to wait for the software when working on thousands of images each week.

Your response will be appreciated. Thank you!

Adobe Lightroom GPU troubleshooting and FAQ

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Lightroom/KB/Lightroom-GPU-FAQ.html

You have your system configured to save all 1:1 previews in your catalog for ever? I set mine to delete every 30 days, so I don't have all that stored somewhere in a cache with LR.

Because it goes so slow down anyway I don't think you have much to lose by trying to clear your cache. But read up on it before making this decision.

In addition, if your photos are stored on an external I wonder if there is a problem with this external hard drive bus speed?

Or if it's all beings stored on your local disk with the OS and applications, maybe it's having a shape any conflict with something the OS or a partner app? Do you think these performance issues when other applications are turned off? Just think-tanking with you here because it seems to have no else responded yet.
Hope of those is the solution.
