• CPU usage by a process in a virtual machine

  Hi people.

  Here's the scenario.  We have an application which seems to be misbehaving.  The developer is asking some sort of metric on the CPU of this app.

  I understand that by looking at the 'Task Manager' within a windows VM is not a reliable way to quantify the use of the CPU of the system, and I would normally use the vSphere client to obtain these data.  Is there a reliable way to get the actual CPU use of individual processes in a Windows 2003 VM?

  Well, I see where you're going, but you are off the mark of that guest virtual machine inside still works on the fact that these are cycles 'real' CPU, and they are... not demand Co... It is only from the HOST, they are programmed as a slice of time.

  Also, when you monitor in the same operating system as tools, are tracking in the same perspective, so even if the processors are not yet affected for 4 seconds (say) the operating system * AND * monitoring of these cycles are frozen at EXACTLY the same time, then Yes, these measures are indeed accurate.

  If you watched from a 3rd party such as Veeam (because he can see the CPU is using the virtual host machine), then probably not as accurate... I can see that.

• CF9 Standard / iis 7.5.  .Jsp process as a .cfm file

  I inherited links ending in .jsp.  The domain now points to my standard cf9 / iis7.5 web server.

  When I tried to open the my version of the .jsp file or perform a url rewriting, I received an error which is not the case of the homologated JSP Standard edition.

  However, I don't want to run a jsp as a model of jsp page.  I would like that it works as a .cfm file.  Or ignore the file completely so I can use a url rewriting to point to my cfm file.

  I tried to disable JSP from the files by default - web.xml.  I now get an error 403: Forbidden.

  What else to do to prevent the recognition of jsp Coldfusion files?

  The problem has been resolved.

  The first step was to disable *.jsp references all the files by default - web.xml.

  Then apply a url rewriting. ^(.*) $ JSP which redirects to cfm {R:1} {R:2}

• Web server on ESXi terribly slow! same fee install works uber quickly on a single physical server.

  I have created a virtual machine and allocated 4gig of RAM, 2 cpu and no limit on the CPU usage.

  Freshly installed Centos5 and LAMP. Installed joomla with default content.

  Browsing the site is TERRIBLY slow... I'm talking molassas.

  Now, until people start blaming joomla, I had exactly the same fees installed on a physical server with less specs (only 1 GB of ram and 1 cpu) and it is lightning fast.

  Both are on the exact same network. And the ESXi server has only a current PBX VM to run other then the Web server. I have hordes of resources left and available on the ESXi server.

  I can not quite understand what the problem is or could be. She has available resources and doesn't have 1 million waiting to go through the server process. My Network (2) cards are defined in tandum (I guess that the combination of network cards?) this should not be a problem?

  It's just the way the esxi manages the inbound and outbound traffic? Is this normal? The only thing I can reduce to is 1) the esxi way itself works. (2) the esxi way treats my network cards and or traffic

  What are the specifications of the ESX Server - hardware and CPU? Are there other virtual machines running on ESX Server? Have you tried running with one virtual CPU virtual machine?  It is advisable to start with a single vCPU and add vCPUs only if it is necessary, or if you have empirical evidence that it is necessary - it has to do with how the virtual processors are programmed.

• CPU is very shimmering and erratic, network latency. Server 2003

  Something made my crazy server. First of all, it's just the network had a bad latency, then I noticed it was on the server and not on the network.
  I thought it as partners of HARD drive, but I'm not sure.
  It seems to boost every few seconds for less than a second.
  I stopped Hmail and Apache, had neither the question.
  A link with 2 images, one of the CPU chart of the process list ranked by time CPU. A few text files with the Ping to anotehr machine and a netstat - a-b are also there.  -New info, it's interruptions causing CPU spikes. Process_explorer.PNG box in the link-

  Also runs Apache (very light load) and HMailServer for email.
  There rarely load problems.
  The RAID controller shows the raid (and each player) as Optimal.

  Solved with assistance from majorgeeks. I have 4 Bay external hard drive connected to a pci - x raid controller. One of these berries produced a ton of interruptions. It off and voila.

• Internal server messages no longer work when published on the web server, but not locally on the web server

  Just upgraded to 8 Captivate and for some reason my server any internal messages is no longer work on the web server.  I can test locally the lesson that always points to the Web server and it works.  Can't understand why when it is on the server it does not work.  The ashx handler that manages to post is fully accessible to the web server and DNS solves very well so I can't understand why he doesn't hit the Manager.  I use IIS to host it and a .ashx for managing for results.

  Is there maybe something new that needs to be allowed in IIS for 8 Captivate work?  .js seems to be fine and firewall is not the issue.  Short of ideas and the need for this work as soon as possible.

  OK, finally solved.  For some reason any run under HTTPS lesson could not publish my results.  As soon as I changed to HTTP the results perfectly. All of this makes sense why I could post locally on the Web server.  Hope this saves someone else 5 days of hell.

  Facing a problem of configuration to set up here.  We have the application inside the firewall server and we will have on the DMZ Web server and this web server has to forward the requests to the server see

  I installed cfusion instance HTTP Port 8500 remote Port 8010 host is a local host, with no cluster.  We will have other forums as a result of a port in addition to HTTP and distance on the line.

  So now the question is how to run the connector.  If I run the embedded {cfroot}/cfusion/runtime/bin/wsconfig.exe, it shows localhost as server applications, well, the web server must be IIS, but on another IP address NOT this server, so that the OK button remains grey.

  You would think that you would need to run the connector on the Web server, right?  Well, I do not have CF installed on it, nor do I intend install on my web server, so how do I get on the Web server connector.

  I read a post on taking a wsconfig.jar and pulling the DLL and others, but it is with JRun 8 CF, CF 11 and not IIS 8.5.  Maybe it's the method that I need to follow, but seems to be the new land that has never been displayed in the CF community.  I like to think I'm 'special' but really?  I'm the first to have this set up the configuration, and no one has posted a BLOG about it.  Looks strange OR I'm totally missing something.

  Please let me know any suggestions on how to move forward.

  Running on window server 2012 R2 for CF Application Server and the Web server.  CF 11 E update 3.

  ColdFusion 11 environment distributed for connector with all sites:

  1. install ColdFusion11 on the other server.

  2. Once you install CF11, then copy the jar file "wsconfig.jar" from this location C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\lib on the IIS server.

  3. configure IIS in the other server. You need to enable the following features at the IIS level only.

  ISAPI extensions

  ISAPI filters

  CGI

  ASP .NET

  5 ColdFusion11 server to connect to the Web server via the Port connector, which is located in the server.xml file. You can find this file in the C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\conf, once you open the file server.xml, this is the port that you want.

  Example: -.

  6. Once you check everything in ColdFusion server, then return to the IIS Web server computer.

  7. the wsconfig.jar file which you copied in this server, rename the .jar to .zip file extension an excerpt it.

  [8. create a file with the same structure here magic C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\{Magic_Number}--[nombre would be 1, 2, 3... n]

  {9. now go to the extracted folder wsconfig and check this isapi_redirect.dll, copy the DLL to the folder C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\{Magic_Number}. If you have 32-bit 32-bit copy if you have 64-bit DLL and then copy 64 bit DLL.

  15. now that we have created all the files and folders. We will add the IP address of the machine ColdFusion11 if IIS can communicate with CF11. There are 2 places to add the IP address.

  18. click on IIS server and select default Document and add index.cfm as default document.

  19. click on IIS server and select ISAPI and CGI Restriction, select Add and 'ISAPI and CGI path' 'C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll', Description "tomcat_All". Check Allow extension path to run and press Ok.

  Click on change the function parameter in the right panel and check both boxes.

  20. click on IIS server and select the ISAPI filters and add a filter name 'tomcat' and the executable file "C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll".

  21 now, add you a virtual directory to each site else it won't work. To add a directory virtual right click on your Web site and add a virtual directory. Alias name "jakarta" and the physical path "C:\ColdFusion11\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll" press Ok.

  Follow this step with the same Alias and path even to all Web sites.

  22 restart the IIS service, and run any ColdFusion page. It will work.

• vSphere 5 and local IIS Web server

  Sorry for my English, I'm Italian and I'm new to this community, but I have a problem with my vsphere 5.

  I created a host with vsphere 5, inside of this host, I have 1 Small Business Server 2011 Microsoft VM and 2 virtual machines Windows 7 Professional.

  Infrastructure is:

  1 Fritzbox router attached to an hp proliant server.

  Inside of the server I have 5 and within esx esx vmware, I have 3 virtual machines

  Now, I have installed a local Web server in 1 virtual machine with Windows 7 Professional and IIS 7

  I have a static IP and I have configured the router to forward traffic from the static ip address to my internal LAN to a specific IP (the ip of my local web server)

  I open in my router port 80 for web traffic and open port 80 also in my firewall windows 7, but when I try to join my vm from the outside, the local web server virtual machine does not work. Is there any configuration, I need firewall configuration ESX?

• PSNT runs a process when its defined as server name

  We have just improved our environment, before, we use PSUNX as our only process Planner. After the upgrade, we now use to reference only. However, we have a very strange problem with the process scheduler.
  
  When we run a process online (menu > peopletools > Scheduler process > process system requests) and choose reference, as the name of the server, we immediately get the below error:
  
  + "The process of XRFMENU has a category that is not covered in Server RTC (65 279) +"
  
  + The system detects that the process with the designated server is currently set to not initiate queries with the class of the process. Please choose another server for ++ schedule this process. Alternatively, you can specify a blank server name to allow the Planner to determine the available server, the process can be launched. » +
  
  But when we leave the server name in the blank, it works perfectly well, using PSNT as process scheduler.
  
  and what is more interesting is, when we open the process definition (XRFMENU in this example) and change the description, and then save the process definition. Then it will work fine even if we use PSNT as server name.
  
  Any ideas on why this is so?
  
  We do not masterscheduler on our server. We have already tried to remove the prcsdefn line, then pulling back but it does not work.

• Can I prevent Dreamweaver CS6 constantly querying the FTP server?

  When I work at the CS6 I little work directly on the FTP server. I do not work in a great team, check in and check out is a feature that is lost to us. So I have the Advanced Server settings to automatically download files when I save them. It works pretty well with the exception that Dreamweaver CS6 seems constantly ask the FTP server anyway. Many times I will go to save and it will throw an error that it cannot download the file now because it is currently interacting with the server.

  In Dreamweaver, I have the log open FTP tab and it is just constantly looking for things on the server at random intervals. It is not to download anything or reconnection. I have no problem at all in fact apart from this connection.

  I poked through settings and I can't find anything that says something like "Stop constantly check the FTP server, it is still there, do not worry there...» »

  Here is the error for all she's worth. I wouldn't bother even complaining about this, except that it happens to me constantly throughout the day. If it was just once or twice I don't care.   I have over a decade of experience with Dreamweaver, ongoing Web-based management of dozens of sites. He certainly had periods when FTP was seriously problematic, even after the CS6 updates where he was supposed to have been fixed. I managed to solve the problem on my production machine main actually two things:

  1. Temporarily disable my firewall and antivirus.
  2. Added the string "ResolveRemoteURLToIPAddress" to "Download Remote" in my registry and affecting false.

  #1 told me that my security software may be panic all level access Dreamweaver and perhaps got its hooks in the software so as to jeopardize this access, which causes delays in the transfer file and synchronize operations.

  #2 has been added to disable the feature to resolve the address IP of Dreamweaver, which caused it to sometimes hang when opening existing documents. This feature is enabled by default in the PC version. I don't know if DW interacts with the server just to open the document, or if it is something that occurs on a basis continues. If the latter, then it could be the cause of a lot of frustration "interacting with a server" for many users.   Dreamweaver is not as effective for as a standalone application FTP file transfers, because it is programmed to keep track of all the files and folders at any time and take notes of the same thing. For this reason, I always have a FTP program open when I'm working. Having said that, the difficulty of recording, in conjunction with several combinations of firewall and antivirus applications allowed me to find a solution that little close to put an end to my problems of FTP of DW.

• Search and Index do not work in the project on the Web server

  I use RH 7 on Windows XP and build my project to help using WebHelp.

  Search and Index functions work perfectly well in the project generated on my hard drive, but when the project is deployed on our Web server for user acceptance testing, these functions do not work.

  • When I search for a term, aid poster project "search...". ' or 'Chargement loading data, please wait... '. "(in a yellow box that displays only for a second or two,) but no display search results. When I search for a word in the project generated on my hard drive, the results appear immediately.
  • When I click on the Index tab, the list of indexes is completely empty.

  For both functions, the "done, but with errors on page" or "Error on page" message appears in the lower left corner of the browser window. When I click the icon (point), an error message appears with the following details:

  Does anyone have an idea on top of their head as to what could prevent indexing and job search functions? Perhaps this is due to a configuration setting or the security on our Web server or something - this entire process is new to me, so I have no idea how to solve this problem.

  On one of my computers, whenever I try to load any LabVIEW example, it does not load and I get this message. It works on other computers.

  How do I tell me what's not on the computers?

  OK I get it; the trick is to learn how to do a search of this forum with the right combination of magic words, and it may take a few tries. It seems the least better words. The words magical combination "OR Web Server system" showed me to go to the Panel > programs and repair LabVIEW; problem solved.
