WPC54G V2 - monitor WLAN

Re-installed Windows XP on a laptop. I have downloaded/extract the driver the latest, installed the adapter

pointing to the location of the driver (I have lost the original CD).

I can't enter a 26 character WEP key via Control Panel you can enter only characters-23. I guess

the WLAN monitor to allow me to be able to enter the 26-character key.

How to install the WLAN monitor? I saw a message saying that the WLAN monitor is

in the utility folder (created by the extraction of rhe pilot).

Is it just a matter of running the Setup.exe file in this folder?

Thank you.

I should have summarized:

-Connected to a wireless network (with no broadcast SSID) w/o a CD or the monitor of WLan utility.

-I think that the question of how to install the LAN utility has been requested before; However, I do not think that

a detailed response was provided in this forum.

  • WUSB54GC - WLAN monitor does not not on Windows 2000 SP4 computer laptop

I have a WUSB54GC v3 and I tried to install the drivers and the WIFI monitor on a Gateway Solo 5300 laptop running Windows 2000 SP4.  When I put the disc, the installation automatically started, but stopped after a few seconds with a pop message saying, "this version of windows is not supported" (or something similar to that).  I read in this forum and learned how to manually install the driver from the disk I did.  I checked the device using troubleshooting in Device Manager and shows the driver to be installed correctly and the device works correctly.

My big problem is that the monitor WLAN (the little green square in the bottom right of the screen) will not illuminate.  There are no available wireless networks and the monitor does not respond to the "Refresh" or anything else.  It seems to be "dead".  How can I get the monitor to work?

    Thank you!

WUSB54GC is not compatible with Window2000... So either you can upgrade your operating system to Windows XP, or you can go for different cards as WUSB54G.

  • WLAN monitor says adapter not installed - WMP11, but it works very well

I installed a WMP11 wireless adapter in my desktop Compaq XP family and everything seems to work very well.  I can access the Internet and also home the other computer on my LAN.  But the WLAN monitor stresses the fact that the card is not installed.  For a few hours last night, it recognizes the card, but today it isn't.  I re - run Setup without result.  I have not reinstalled the drivers and card because things work correctly.  Any suggestions on what's wrong with the WLAN monitor?

In addition, the device manager says that the card is installed and working properly.  Only WLAN Monitor to be confounded.  I fear that this means that something is wrong - and I find both less convenient.

If the WIFI monitor does not work properly, you must use the Windows wireless to connect to your wireless network...

    (1) uninstall the adapter in your programs menu.

    (2) Insert the installation CD in the CD-ROM drive and wait for the Welcome screen, on the Welcome screen, click on Exit and restart the computer...

    (3) when the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click on install the software automatically (recommended) and then click Next.

NOTE: The hardware installation screen may appear indicating that the adapter has failed the Windows Logo test.

    (4) ignore the window and click on continue to continue the installation because the adapter has been tested and it works with Windows XP...

    (5) when Windows has finished installing the driver, click on Finish.Goto Control Panel and double-click on network connections...

    (6) right click on wireless network connection, and then select view available wireless networks "-If you see your network wireless in the list, the highlight by clicking 'single' on it now, click on the 'Connect' button below-if your wireless network is secured, it asks you to provide the network key - provide the wireless network key and confirm again in the confirmation box and click 'Connect'." Hello

Your order of installation of drivers contains the Intel WLan driver.
But the laptop Satellite Pro C850-1 GR was equipped with the Realtek RTL8723AE WLan/BT combo card.

I think that you need to uninstall the Realtek WLan driver and WLan Intel driver.
In addition, you must pay attention to the functionality of BT.

The card is compatible with the BT and you need to install the driver Package Realtek Bluetooth filter before installing the battery Toshiba BT.

In addition, do not forget that this WLan adapter is enabled by using the FN + F12 (or just the F12)

Finally and above all do not forget WHAT BIOS the dafault value

    Hi mate

So you mean all other FN keys work correctly, but only the FN + F8 key combination does not work as it should?

This means that you can not activate WLan I would recommend setting the BIOS to the default settings and reinstall the WLan driver again
The fact is that if the WLan driver would not work or if the WLan card is not installed properly, then the FN + F8 key combination does not work too.

Update the driver WLan using this page:

  • My Satellite C850D has problem in WLAN signal

I had a problem with the connection to the internet wireless in recent weeks.

I sometimes luck and he would take our router at home, but more often there otherwise the computer monitor with the x bit red in it at the bottom of my screen.

He could not pick up any network at all. If I help it, he just repeatedly told me that I needed to install an ethernet cable, but I want to connect wireless.

I Googled it and saw a lot of things about the drivers and I assumed it was my problem. I uninstalled my two wireless drivers and then scanned a new hardware, like the many tutorials will tell you, but nothing happened.

I went to the Toshiba site and seemed to wireless drivers so I downloaded the Realtek one and followed internet tutorials to get this working but once again, nothing.

Now, I don't know what to do.

Can someone please. I need access to the internet at home for College work as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think you should start solving the problem by checking some key things:
First the wireless network card should be recognized in the Device Manager and it must not contain any yellow exclamation point. The WLan driver must be installed correctly.

Second, please check if the wireless network adapter is enabled. All Toshiba laptops media function keys and generally you can activate the WLan using FN + F8 keys or (in some cases Fn + F12)

You should check the WLan configuration.
You can add new Wlan profile in Control Panel-> network and sharing Center-> wireless (left)
    Add new Wlan connection.

Note: use the exactly the same settings that were used in your router settings.
Pay attention to the standard of encryption and the encryption key!

In the Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab, you can see options as for example WiFi 802.11 A/B/G standard, etc.

  • Portege R500: BT & WLan need driver XP

I'm trying to download the drivers for my Portege R500 (English) for Windows XP drivers Toshiba download site. In most cases, this went successfully, but both of them failed:
-Bluetooth Stack (seems to be not not available).
-Wireless Lan Driver, Intel, 11.1.0.100 references (if I click this link I am redirected to a site that is not found).

It is really raise what you wrote here. I checked the download page and everything works fine.

For BT stack download you will be redirected to BT support page http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php

  • Satellite L650-0ED - ports external monitor and turn off WiFi

    Hey,.

    1. I have a Satellite L650/0ED, I was wondering if the HDMI and the external monitor port start when starting and if they cause the start time of the laptop to be slower. If they do slow down the start how disable them you using Device Manager, since I looked, I tried to disable the Device Manager; but I can't find them anywhere on the list of devices.
They have a special code name or something?

    2. based on my understanding, the manual of instruction/userguide Toshiba mentions if I press FN + F8 it turns off the wireless amber light but this is not the case, since the amber wireless is still or not. I have the wireless active or disabled.
It say it's so I have the wireless off of amber or the - Orange must be turned off when I press FN + F8 and is not, why is this?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

    1. No, they cause t a slower start. He doesn't know me and as long as I know it of not possible to disable the ports in the BIOS. Then n t you worry about this, even, you have connected external screens, boot time is the same.

    2. Yes, usually you can activate the WLAN functionality by using the FN + F8 key combination.
I put t have the laptop in front of me, but normally if you don t have a hardware wireless switch, you can disable the wireless network adapter in the BIOS. Just put permits for disabled people and that should be all! :)

  • WIndows 98 SE & WPC54G ver 3 (not ver 3.1)

I had a problem get it running on my old laptop that is running Windows 98 Second edition.  I've been on the linksys support offerings direct tech, which has been very helpful, but have not found the solution.

I tried to download the 3 different versions of the driver for the card of network 3 WPC54G ver & whenever I'm still getting a circle of yellow exclamation that the device does not work in Device Manager after updating the driver.

I don't have the CD that came with the wireless network adapter.

With the latest driver, I was able to get the monitor & functional, but it is not found the wireless network (which works & has been tested with another device) access point.

With the version 2 driver I was able to type in the SSID & pre shared key, but I received an error message & he never found the access point.

I also tried the 3.1 driver (even though it says ver 3 on mine, not a 3.1 anywhere), which seems to charge in, but there is no monitor to look again for the access point, so none if typing in the SSID & pre-shared key.

In the driver all updates, I am asked for the disc of Windows 98 SE, but when loading the file still is not on the CD (which I confirmed by doing a search on the disc).  Then I typed in some places another file that I found on another thread in this forum & that usually seems to do the trick (C:\windows\options\cabs, C:\windows\system, etc.) but not for all versions of pilot.

Any other ideas, or drivers that may work?

I had already tried this, but thanks for the suggestion.  In addition, there is not a chance this old laptop could run XP.

I was finally able to get the adapter to work in the hardware profiles, after a long night with the help of the direct support of linksys.  Unfortunately we could not always get the adapter to recognize the wireless network after you install the monitoring software for each version.  I then read in the software (version 1.3) Boingo wireless & who did the trick.  There the pilot of linksys and Boingo wireless monitor software.
