Write the alarm log to PC localhost

A quick question, maybe. When you run SDFs and stimulus profiles located on another PC (i.e., via a network), how can I set the alarm for the log path to be on the local host? In the path, instead of "C:\Data\*.*", input box I would like something like "\Data\*.*".

Hello

To do this you must set up a sharing network (i.e. the "Download" folder) and use a UNC as '\\localhost\Downloads '.

What process (process backgroud) written in newspaper alert?

The archiver written for her. LogWriter can write (if you have log_checkpoints_to_alert).
When a background process detects that another died, the former written to the alert log in before you panic the instance and kill him.

An ALTER SYSTEM command issued by the server process for your database session will also write to the alert.log

(Alternatively, you can call a specific procedure of data to write in it - but it is not documented).

• "redo the write time" includes "log file parallel write".

IO performance Guru Christian said in his blog:

http://christianbilien.WordPress.com/2008/02/12/the-%E2%80%9Clog-file-sync%E2%80%9D-wait-event-is-not-always-spent-waiting-for-an-IO/

Waiting for synchronization of log file can be divided into:
1. the 'writing time again': this is the total elapsed time of the writing of the redo log buffer in the log during recovery (in centisecondes).
2. the 'parallel log writing' is actually the time for the e/s of journal writing complete
3. the LGWR may have some post processing to do, signals, then the foreground process on hold that Scripture is complete. The foreground process is finally awake upward by the dispatcher of system. This completes pending "journal of file synchronization.

In his mind, there is no overlap between "redo write time" and "log file parallel write.

But in the metalink 34592.1:

Waiting for synchronization of log file may be broken down into the following:
1 awakening LGWR if idle
2 LGWR gathers again to be written and issue the e/s
3. the time for the IO journal writing complete
4 LGWR I/O post processing
...

Notes on adjustment according to log file sync component breakdown above:
Steps 2 and 3 are accumulated in the statistic "redo write time". (that is found in the SEO Title Statspack and AWR)
Step 3 is the wait event "log file parallel write. (Note.34583.1: "log file parallel write" reference Note :) )

MetaLink said there is overlap as "remake the writing time" include steps 2 and and "log file parallel write" don't understand step 3, so time to "log file parallel write" is only part of the time of 'redo write time. Won't the metalink note, or I missed something?

• Java applications can write to the event log

• Rule to get the agent logs

Hello

I am trying to create a rule that generates an alarm whenever the data collection is stopped. I tried to choose the type of topology as "Agent of the State" to the scope of the variable as being "running but does not collect not data ' and 'AgentManagementSystemEventType' with the variable scope of 'stop data collection' but cannot write the condition that there is no specific property that can be learned from 'the Agent logs.

I want to shoot the officer of newspapers so that each time, the agent is stopped, the alarm should be triggered.

Kindly, let me know what "type of topology" should I choose and under "current execution status query" what condition and function must we tell to shoot to the top of all the agent logs that collect data.

Thank you best regards &,.

Shiva G

Regarding "agent agent hosts.png", I would recommend that you upgrade to the current version of FglAM.

Regarding "Fixing Agent showing X.png", I would recommend that you migrate far officers inherited from the BONES to the agent of the Infrastructure. When you select these agents and press "Start data collection", it does not work or stops again the agent? If it stops, the log file should tell you why.

About scenario 1, a possibility would be to rule that fires if a particular measure has not been updated for a specific period of time. That could meet your needs?

For scenario 2, you can set an alarm that goes off when he run the agent who does not collect data. It might be loud rule, since the stopping and starting of data collection can be considered a normal administration activity. If agents are stop on their own, I would rather find out you why and correct the underlying problem.

• Impossible to interrogate the alarms & events, alarms does not connect

Hi all

I recently ran a question with the DSC alarm event & logging. I have a number of all shared variables libraries set up to record data and alarms at the Citadel. I double checked that the library itself is configured for data recording and alarms, as well as all the variables. Using the DSM, I can see all alarms active in the system across all libraries and can receive all the alarm by program change events.

For some reason, alarms to one of the libraries are logging, and attempt to query the historical events & alarms via MAX raise an error at about 14 of 15 times (with no code error or indication of why it fails). I have also tried to check the database of the Citadel, with it fails with an error unspecified (presumably during archiving on the side of things alarms, archive data seems to work).

Can anyone offer an overview on how to solve the problem, preferably without data loss? In addition, how can I avoid this problem in the future?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the llb related, but it could not remove existing data. That said, I managed to resolve the issue.

Removal of the database of alarms (not only the alarms), did the trick. My approach was:

1. stop all libraries through DSM

2. create the new base of Citadel by MAX

3. use DSC Archive Traces VI to check in the footsteps of the database active for the newly created database

4. remove the active database

5 detach the new database

6. move the new database on disk for the location of the old database

7. set the new database with the same name as the old database

8. start all libraries

At this point all the alarms started logging in correctly and I can query the alarms without problem. The system is on a UPS now, so I hope that any future power failure does not affect the things.

• Pulse TTL-PCI-6503 write in a log .txt file

Hello, I need to connect the PCI-6503 data output to a log .txt file. This PCI-6503 map reads a pulse sent from another PCI-6503 located in another computer. I want to just save the .txt file if a pulse is received. I know how to create and write to the .txt file, but do not know how to write the DAQmx data in this file. Could someone help?

Thank you in advance!

Hi a2h,.

To only write when there is data emerging from the Daqmx read, you can use the table Emply?. VI to determine if there are real (like the pulse) from the unit and then data of yarn that a structure of case that will write to a text file in the case of false.

Okie dokie.

Well I dug on the web and found someone with the same problem, and they said that when they have disabled "McAfee VirusScan 8.5 Access Protection", this error has disappeared. If this applies to you, give it a whirl if you wish.

But the best support that I found came from this website: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838687. The jist of it is (trying to fix it yourself):
Fix it myself to fix this problem yourself, follow these steps:

1. Log the computer by using an administrator user account.
2. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
3. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
4. Click the view tab.
5. Under hidden files and folders, click Show hidden folders and files.
6. Clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
7. Open the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\
8. If you are running Office 2003, right-click Opa11.dat, and then click Properties. If you are running Office XP, right-click Data.dat, and then click Properties.
9. Click the Security tab.
10. Click Advanced.
11. Click the permissions tab.
12. Click to select everyone in the list entered permissions and then click change.
13. Click to select the full control check box.
14. Click OK three times. If these steps do not resolve this issue, delete the Opa11.dat file or the Data.dat file in the following folder and then restart an Office 2003 program or an Office XP program:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data

If this does not work for you, I would take my installation CD< completely="" uninstall="" microsoft="" excel="" (or="" any="" other="" problems="" that="" are="" giving="" you="" this="" error),="" then="" install="" microsoft's="" windows="" installer="" cleanup="" utility="" (which="" completely="" removes="" all="" stuff="" pertaining="" to="" whichever="" program="" you="" delete,="" for="" you,="" excel)="" and="" then="" reinstall="" microsoft="" excel.="" this="" utility="" program="" is="" really="" powerful,="" and="" you="" can="" download="" your="" copy="" from="">http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.

Intermittent crashes. The event log shows event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1. How can I find this device? This is probably a hardware problem?

I look at intermittent crashes, where my cursor becomes an hourglass and the system does not yet meet the ctrl-alt-delete. In the case of a newspaper, I find

Event 11 atapi: the driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort1.

How can I determine which physical devices this is associated? This indicates a hardware problem, or driver or firmware may be the source? The system has worked very well for a few years. I'm not aware of any change in software that took place recently, although I have had by force, remove and reinstall iTunes earlier.

I run SMART on all players controls and run diagnostics. I ran chkdsk on the one I found the culprit, but not mistakes.

Just in case it was a deadlock linked to memory, I tried to use the Diagnostics memory Microsoft on floppy, but it would not write on the disk (even if I could format and copy the files freely).

Hello

Go to your configuration and see which drive is for each port; 1,2,3,4...

Then go to the Device Manager and look at how many SATA controller you have and how many ports for each, then start count from 0 to IdePort0, 1, 2, etc. for each SATA controller, so if you have 4 ports for each SATA controller, here is how you came from:

IdePort0 1 -, 2 - IdePort1, 3 car - IdePort2 and road 4 - IdePort3 in the order of road by car

I hope it helps

Yes, it is possible to write in the FMS log within a rule or an expression of varying severity. As long as your logic is called in the rule condition, you should see the output in the FMS log file.

• Is it possible to delete all entries in the Eventvwr log?

Separated from this thread.

Is it possible to delete all entries in the Eventvwr log, so I can go back to that is the app is written in the Eventvwr log?

By default, event viewer produced a considerable number of newspapers.

The four elements of the menu in event viewer bar are file, Action, view and help.

Clear a log only appears in the Action menu of drop-down menu if the cursor is placed in a newspaper that can be erased and a report in the list is not currently selected. So if it is placed on the option Windows logs clear a log is unavailable, while "subject of a report in a folder under five is not selected, the option clear a log is available."

The three main Windows logs files are Application, security, and system. The default file for these logs size is 20, 480 KB, which is larger than necessary. A reasonable size is 2 048 KB. You can easily change the size immediately after clearing the log by using the scrollbar to the right of the maximum log size to change whatever size you choose. In the same time make sure that the box before overwriting is checked. All of your changes by clicking apply then OK. If you have not disabled the first newspaper the system prevents the selection of a maximum file size less than the size of the existing file.

see that the app is written in the Eventvwr log?

The system records the entries in the logs. The system monitors everything that happens. Individual applications do not write entries in the Event Viewer logs. It's the system that records the entries on startup applications, stop and crashing!
