Wrong GPS location on the map

When you use the card on the HP Touchpad software, GPS think that my current position is Portland, Oregon, even though I'm in Boise, ID. have you tried closing down and restart with no luck. Still think I'm in Portland. Give you access to the service location when asked. How to fix? Thanks in advance. Mike

The Touchpad single WiFi isn't an active GPS sensor, the card application triangulate WiFi signals from the location 'known' of the access points and routers. If theres a problem in the research of the database then the position will be along the wide track.

  • Two questions on MapField (GPS permissions) and the map display

    Hello world

    I have two questions about the use of the Mapfield (for OS 5.0):

    First of all, it is possible to invoke the Permission of GPS is fast at the start of the application rather than the first time, you open the card and use the GPS?

    Second, I use a MapField in my application, and the map that appears on the device is only to show a green background with diagonal black lines and circles white - as if there were no card information to show. I tried to load many different places, and I get the same result. On the Simulator, I get the most actual plan information.  Does anyone know why this might be happening?

    Thank you!

    regarding your first question:

    use an applicationpermissionsrequest for that object.

  • Map screen: assign the same GPS location to a 'rare' image group

    Let's a have a buch of photos that were taken in the same place at different times. The images are scattered throughout the fimstrip and might even belong to different collections in the same catalog (or even different catalogs?). What is the best way to assign the same GPS coordinates to all these photos using the map screen?

    Of course, the direct way to do is to carefully select all of these photos in the Filmstrip, and then click the desired location on the map. It is problematic for reasons more than one. First of all, it is difficult to scroll the whole band and choose the photos one by one. Second, if I acccidentally miss one or two photos, I have to start all over again.

    The best way would be a sort of copy / paste appproach: copy the desired location in the Clipboard (another image or directly from the map) and then paste it on the desired images one by one or, better, on groups of images. A feature that, at first seems promising in this respect is the field of text input on the right that contains the GPS coordinates in the form of text. It is editable, which means that I can copy the coordinates (as text) of an image and paste it in the same field from another image. However, this unfortunately does not guarantee that images will end up with identical locations: the image that received the new coordinates could (and will be) end up with a slightly different location in terms of the image of the "donor". This means that the coordinates are stored internally with a precision greater than their representation in the text entry field.

    So, what are the other options?

    In the grid, select the "donor" photo, and then ctrl-click to select the photos of 'recipient '. Then synchronize the metadata, including the GPS location and any other fields that you want to synchronize. It's the equivalent of copy and multiple - Lightroom paste.

    This works only in a single catalog. It will not work in several catalogs (which of course is one of the many reasons why many people use a single catalog for all of their photos)

  • Search on Google Map is not locate or the icon to zoom level; IE works fine.

    Google Maps has stopped working correctly, so I upgraded to 3.8.something 5.0.1. This has not fixed the problem. Search by map displays a result with an address, but not pinpoint the location on the map. The zoom control with the icon on the same level in the upper part is also missing. Tried the same search in IE 8. something and it has been successfully completed.

    Is he missing pictures then make sure you are not block images from certain domains.
    See:

    • Check the permissions for the domain in the active tab in tools > Page Info > permissions
    • Check that the images are enabled: Tools > Options > content: [X] loading images automatically
    • Check exceptions in tools > Options > content: Load Images > Exceptions

    You can also use these steps to check if the images are blocked:

    • Click on the "More information" button to open the "Page Info" with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "tools > Page Info").
    • Go to the Media of the window tab "tools > Page Info.
    • Select the first link of the image and scroll down through the list with the arrow down.
    • If an image in the list is grayed out and there is a check mark in the box "block Images of..." and remove this mark to unlock the images from this area.

  • Pins on the map endangered

    Hello

    I just got back from a trip and try to manually set studs of placement for the various places I've visited in the Lightroom card module. I identify a location on the map and then made drag images selected from the film at the location. It seems to work - but when I revisit the plan, the pins are gone. I wish that all the pins (with related images) that I placed on my card to appear whenever I open the card (for example when I discover the United States all the studs of my u. s. investment will appear) without having to enter a name of a given location so that I can just click on the pins pre-filled and see the pictures of this place.

    I also tried to use the Panel saved locations, but after that I have create a location, drag images of her and then move to another location for registration, the number of images to the right of the previous location tends to zero.

    I'm sure there's a step (or two) that I'm missing.

    Thanks for your help.

    Brian

    This can happen because in the library Module, you have selected a specific folder or the keyword or the collection before you open the map. If you want to see all your pins to the map, click on the photos in the library Module and make sure that you have disabled filters.

  • Is BlackBerry Smartphones gps does not follow the map

    Guys good day. Help, please.

    My problem is with the GPS. When I put in the address and ask to 'navigate here.

    I can see the arrow moves but the card is not mopve as well so I have to constantly move the map manually.

    It was only after I updated from version 5 to version 6.

    Thanks for the comments.

    Sorry, I can't help, but I can sympathize with you because I was looking for a solution to this as well.  I just bought this new Bold 9650 y / day, in lieu of my Pearl 8230, that somehow the GPS got fried, stop working, whatever, with a sort of update that was pushed to the phone.  Weird situation, look in the area of Pearl for more details if you're curious.

    Anyway, it used to work perfectly on the Pearl - point fixed GPS and card installs under him.  Seems I got on a bad deal here because my OS is the new 6.  I hope that someone will know about a fix for this.  A bit useless if you have to scroll to get to your location all the time, as it is constantly going off the screen!  :-(

  • Get the GPS location API error - provider is not available

    Hello

    I am trying to access the information of location using Android location API (via LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER), but without success. I get error "provider not available."

    AndroidManifest.xml has lines related to the relevant permissions:

    But I do not get prompt the same security to grant these permissions to my request.

    OS version 2.0.0.3894

    Build 73070

    Thank you.

    I solved this problem by restarting and place the device near a window.

    What I was wondering now is why Android player never asked security permission to access the location of the GPS. What is a function of development?

  • Launch the map with maps of schema url location:

    Hi all

    I am launching the maps application and open a store in the plan. Launch the application maps to BB10 can be done using the cards: url scheme. But it does not seem possible from a location in this scheme. I tried a few things like:

    cards: {address}

    maps:? search = {address}

    maps: search = {address}

    maps:? q = {address}

    cards: q = {address}

    Does anyone know if this is even possible and how?

    Thanks in advance!

    Oke, it's strange. Minutes after I posted this I've thought about it.

    maps:? address = {address}

    It will launch the native maps app and identifies the location. Weird this is not documented anywhere.

  • Display the current location on Blackberry Maps

    Hi all

    I have an application that displays a number of places on a map. I have create a situation with all the included sites document and then call blackberry maps. This all works fine, but I can't work on how to show the current location of the user and the sites that I spent in.

    Ideally, I would like to the user's location to display a small blue mark (like it on google maps) and sites to display as normal red pawns. Is this possible?

    Otherwise, I thought to put the current location in the rental document (which I did successfully for more information getRoute) but how then the user distinguished between their situation and sites? Is it possible to create custom pins?

    MapField gives you the opportunity to paint your own markers. I suggest that you look on this.
