[WRT54GS] Forward a port to a different port

Hello

I have the router WRT54GS v1.1. His version of software is v4.71.1

I want to forward a port (e.g. 80) on a different port on my server on my area (for example, 8080).

So when a user signs in to http://domain.com url, the request is forward on port 8080 of my server.

I found on the page of my router configuration, port forwarding, but the target port cannot be specified.

Is this possible?

Thanks for your help.

Sausage

N ° it is not possible with the Linksys firmware. Linksys added port forwarding only in later models.

If you need you can try the 3rd party firmware like dd - wrt. Allow you to forward ports.

  • WRT54GS - how stealth ports 135-139

    Hello

The WRT54GS router has been very, very good to me... But I'm digging the safety and find that the 135-139 ports are considered to be closed and not Steathed. I tried dumping of traffic to ports to a non-existent LAN machine, but it does not work. Is it possible to achieve stealth?

    Thank you

    p.

    paul1149 says:

You are seen. If you weren't there (or actually camouflaged) and then to the router closest to your IP address (for example the router that needs to deliver packages to your IP) would yield a unreachable ICMP to the sender. Of course, he doesn't not because the router knows that you are connected. So 'stealth' means only you are there but do not meet certain demands.

If the router again that I do not answer, then undercover under a router is a joke. I guess that's what you're saying. I am amazed by this.

Fix. The whole 'stealth' is a joke. As I've written before, which is implemented in many firewalls and routers is "I do not answer an incoming unsolicited connection queries" (instead of answer "closed port"). But not answering, it's not what would happen if an IP was not in use, because the IP protocol requires unreachable ICMP message from the nearest router to your ISP to be returned if an IP address is not used... So 'stealth' of port scans is not the same thing as 'invisible '.

    paul1149 says:

I doubt whether they will really be worth if a port is "stealth"

My thought was that if they don't see you down, they would not search further for vulnerable ports. Is this bad?

Lol what would be the purpose of this, unless you do not want to make intensive checks of some computers. But it would be very inefficient. In addition, scans ports more than a single IP address is relatively easy to detect by the firewall. Many firewalls (such as those used by ISPS) scans ports IP addresses to detect and block once.

Instead a worm that exploits a vulnerability on port 135 will scan open ports 135. If it's a Trojan horse using port 12345 it will scan for port 12345. Although it was a malware that is able to exploit some dozend vulnerablitiies, it would be just scan for ports that expose vulnerable services and not all. All malware has to do is to send the connection requests and wait for those who succeed. If there is a "closed port" returned or anything not really made a difference.

It's like spammers: they really not worth that an email address exists or not. Once they have found an address they sent spam there. They check even returned undeliverable messages. Why bother?

    paul1149 says:

Re my router config, I have no port triggering, DMZ or UPnP. The only transmission I did was earlier, in the 139 infiltration attempt. But my attempts to transfer to a non-existent customer made no difference in the analysis.

Get a stealth, you must forward a port on a computer running a software firewall, which "hides" a port. Redirect to a non-existent customer does not necessarily (because the router must still declare an ICMP unreachable, it may or may not do).

In any case, I recommend to ask your ISP if they are blocking ports 135-139 or not. The only other way to find out would be to use a computer connected to the internet port of the router (with static IP on the computer and the router) and see if the computer detects the same result or if it is reported he 135-139 ports then camouflaged.

  • 'Fail forward' for Ports on the virtual machine

We have a customer who will be centralizing the unit with about 250 users at remote sites (4 Sites, 1000 Subscribers, they have currently a unit break at each site and want to centralize). Each site will have its own cluster of CM. I'm thinking about what I could do failure network SCOPE. Of course, each site will be fine IPT wise because they have their own cluster of CM, but VM will be declining. I think I watered but if there was a way to "transmit failure" or something on the VM ports on the PSTN to maintain the work of the virtual machine. (Of course carrier must support ISDB).

Someone at - it works in this or thought about it?

Andrew Dignan... If the carrier supports RDINS of course

The connectivity of voice mail for Cisco CallManager chapter of the Cisco CallManager System Guide:

"Inter-classes Interfaces A Cisco CallManager in a cluster can provide access to a voice mail system in another cluster, if the administrator provides the voicemail number on the trunk driver inter-classes. Voicemail systems can leave messages and sets the flags of message waiting for devices other clusters if clusters are connected by trunks QSIG. »

This applies to any system of virtual machine. With the unit, you have of additional capacity to save ports across multiple clusters so to provide MWI without ICTS as QSIG.

    Hope this helps,

  • Best practice: Forwarding or Port Address Translation

I have a RV320 of delivery and some of the services I want to expose to the internet.

When you configure the router, I found 2 features allowing me to expose services, and both work as expected.

Transmission: Transmit a range of ports to an internal host (for example, 80-80).

Port Address Translation: Pass a port outside to another port (e.g. 80-> 80) inside

The question is this: is it better to use the transfer, specifying several slices 1 port each (e.g., 80, 443, 25, 22), or is it better to use PAT, specify the same port on both outside and inside?

Both have the same purpose, it would be easier to follow if you just use transfer. Port Address Translation is really used if you want to specify individual ports or multiple ports to a single port (e.g. 123-> 80)

  • Port forwarding on Linksys WRT54G

Hey I have problems with Port Forwarding on my Linksys WRT54G. The port, I need open is 28960. I followed guides and thought I did everything correctly, but his does not work. Here's what I've done so far:

-J' put a static IP address and took a screenshot of my settings here:

-Here is my page of port forwarding:

-Under the ' security > firewall "tab I unchecked"Block anonymous Internet Requests ".
-In addition, I tried to adjust the 'DHCP server' for people with reduced mobility

Is there something that I don't forget or do wrong?

Evreything is fine... Make sure that the DHCP server is activated (do not disable it)...

The only reason why port forwarding does not work because this port can still report it as "Blocked", this only happens if you have an old firmware on your Linksys router...

Update the firmware on your router, reset and re - configure from scratch and do port forwarding, see if it works...

    Download the Firmware from here

Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware of the device: -.
Open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave name empty username & password admin lowercase usage...
Click the 'Administration' tab - then click on the 'Upgrade Firmware' under the tab-here, click on 'Browse' and navigate the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait a few seconds until it shows that "the update is successful," after the upgrade of the firmware, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned to the same page OR it will say 'cannot display the Page.

    Now reset your router:
Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • WRT54G2 - port forwarding to a different local port

    Hi people,
I just tried to set up my wireless G router to transfer a WAN calls on a specific port IP address local and ANOTHER port. Here's the scenario:

    An incoming request: port 80
    Should be rerouted to: 172.16.0.2:8585

The only option I found is to reroute the port 8585 to 172.16.0.2:8585 which unfortunately does not work for me in this case.
    Am I missing something?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, thanks for your response.

The problem was exactly what you mentioned at the end of your post - interface (not the router mmee) linksys does not Port forwarding for the local way different.

For those who are interested in the solution - you have to Flash your router - details and download here - www.dd-wrt.com

I did and now I am able to transfer to a specific LAN IP: Port (+ 1000s other useful goodies).

  • On WRT54G port forwarding

    Hello!

I need assistance with portforwarding on my WRT54G. Any port range, I can't make it work.

I'm sitting at a Mac, cable connected to the Linksys. I had connection-fiberglass.
Where to start? I think I've tried everything, but somewhere seems to be a small option unchecked.

I opened the port on the Linksys, check the Enable box.
The computer has a static IP address to the router.
I unchecked her block anonymous Internet requests.
I have disabled the firewall on my computer.
I have reset the router and everywhere.
    I tried DMZ.
I have updated the firmware of the router.

I called my provider and asked if they accidentally blocked some ports. They said that they do not have, but I was behind a firewall, which should not cause this problem. They put me "on a public IP address" (if I remember correctly, what the guy said, tell me nothing) just in case.

Feels like I'm bored of what is obvious, but what? I'm grateful for any help.

    Best regards, P.

If the internet IP address of your router is 10.60.0.1 then there is basically nothing you can do. Your ISP is running another NAT router. This means that you must implement two expeditions of port: one on the ISP NAT router and one on yours. Obviously, your ISP won't... You can ask only your ISP to assign you a public IP...

  • LRT224 - Dual WAN port forwarding

Can you move forward say port 80 1 Wan IP and port 80 from WAN 2 to a different IP address. ?

Also can you somehow choose TCP & UDP rather large only one or the other?

I just replaced 2 routers with LRT 214 and LRT 224 TPLink its all works well. Except port forwarding

With LRT224, a port forwarding rule is applied to the two WAN ports and two rules are necessary if you want to ship to TCP and UDP to the same internal IP address.

  • port forwarding issues

I played with port forwarding with my two cams of linksys and other 3 g wireless network web pages on my local network I want to access from the outside world.  I have one to configure them to use other port 8081, but after a few experiments see it as useless.

I have a router linksys WRT54GL running dd - wrt V23 SP2 firmware and ports 80,81 and 443 (all in the field "port of") transmitted to cam1, cam2 and Western Digital NAS drive respectively. I found that because I'm port forwarding in any case, the two cams can continue to use port 80 and I 80 and 81 in the ' port of "or side defined WAN port 8080 bothers me to my router gui.

There's the rub for me, it is, I cannot use 80,81 and 443 of the side ports WAN routers forward my port, if I use a different port, I can't access anything whatsoever that is served as a web page. I discovered this when I installed the Transmission torrent client on my NAS drive, it has a web interface as well and uses the port 9091, however when I port transfer it via my router I can't web interface from outside my local network. If I change the WAN or 'port' 80 or 81 and let the 'port' to 9091 I get fine, but I need to disable the port front of webcam that uses this port.

I was going to get a 3rd and 4th IP Cam but will have the same problem, because it seems that only I can use ports 80, 81 and 443, and they are already exhausted. (I use 443 for secure access to my NAS drive) Change the port number in settings/options to 1024 or anything else works that if I leave it on the side of port forwarding LAN, WAN-side must always be 80 or 81.

The only way I can see around this is to create a page that will reside on my router or my drive NAS I can show more out of a camera on it - something, I want to do in any case.

PS. I do not use TZO, but I use dyndns so my dns is myname.dyndns.org.

Finally understood that there is a problem with blocked ports from my place of work, which is where I tried to connect from. When I connected to the internet with my laptop computer and aircard, I was able to get to ok. My solution when I want to check on the torrents of the work is to connect to my router GUI work, changing the port 80 or 81 and disable the webcam on this address.

  • Port Forwarding problem through 2 routers RVS4000 2 subnets

I modified a building network to be compliant (Visa) PABP where two router and two subnets are required.

My original CD building network configuration was designed to allow remote access to a server terminal server via the port forwarding on a RVS4000 router. So cables / modems-> xx.xx.xx.xx wan ROUTER lan 192.168.1.1--> subnet 192.168.1.0 with TCP 3389 Port forwarding for 192.168.1.11 (terminal server).

The new configuration of the network is composed of two routers RVS4000 on two subnets. So the Modem cable-> wan xx.xx.xx.xx ROUTER1 lan 192.168.2.2-> Subnet 192.168.2.0-> DMZ 192.168.2.14 and the second router wan ROUTER2 lan--> subnet 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1.

ROUTER1 is configured in Bridge mode and ROUTER2 is configured in router mode. Port forwarding on ROUTER1 to port TCP 3389 is 192.168.2.1 (on ROUTER2 wan port). Port forwarding on Router 2 for the TCP 3389 must 192.168.1.11 port (server address terminal server).

With this new configuration of network I am able to connect to the Terminal Server remotely. No problem with access to the Internet and the 192.168.2.0 subnet from inside the 192.168.1.0 subnet.

So I think my problem is through two RVS4000 routers port forwarding. Any help on this problem will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    1. can you access the terminal server server from inside the subnet 192.168.2.0/24 using the IP WAN to Router 2, which is access 192.168.2.1:3389 from inside 192.168.2.0/24.

    2. turn on Router 2 router in Bridge mode. Try again. My guess is that this will make the work of transfer. I think that port forwarding is linked to the NAT/gateway mode. No NAT no transfer. Is not logical to use the transfer when you are able to access the IP directly without NAT. Of course, the web interface does not allow you to forward a port located outside the LAN subnet...

    3. are you sure that you can access internet through Router 2 in router mode on the LAN subnet router 2? Usually in the NAT their own LAN subnet routers only bridge mode but not others. If the RVS4000 not NAT a different subnet that would be good to know.

  • Why isn't my port forwarding of the opening port

I have the latest version of the 3 terabyte time capsule. I'm trying to forward a port so I can access my security cameras and it does not open.  My camera 100 port needs to be open and it will report as not open on any port test sites. Any ideas as to why, I use a static ip address of the server for the security system.

Testing websites are useless... test by plugging actually to the camera from a device attached to a captive phone or a friend...

Port forwarding works only if you have the public IP address on the Wan of the TC... and it's the only router in the network... is this the case?

  • Nighthawk R8000 - problems of Port - frustrated to a task as simple forwarding

Talk about wasting time for a simple task like Port forwarding:

Goal: Establish an external absolutely Minecraft Server

    Equipment:

-MC Server: Mac Mini (current run successfully) Firewall works not

    -NH R8000 router

-SB6141 Modem (modem is a straight passthrough; no FW)

    -TWC Internet service

Created the Service customized according to the router:

-Port forward internal port 25565 against the servers IP address 192.168.1.X

    Accessible "few" network.

Canyouseeme.org does not see as open port

    Test:

-Server connected directly to the Modem

-Port found as open; Successful connected externally to the MC Server

-Validation that TWC is NOT blocking this port

Fell network and still no luck.

Has been the latest firmware. but seen a post from someone at NG who suggested to someone else to downgrade. Did to v 1.0.2.46_1.0.97

    -Results: No chance

Also tried to adjust the filtering NAT to open

So in addition to getting rid of this router. What to do next?

    RESOLVED:

-One more piece of hardware that is not listed. Vonage modem. The Installer did after the modem but before the router. This affected the external IP and more that probably caused the blocked port.

S ' installed behind the router and the port is working now.

-Just need to finalize the Vonage settings change, but it is secondary to get the MC server running. : 0

  • Setting up Port Forwarding on both routers E2000 for the Slingbox PRO - HD

I bought recently a Slingbox PRO - HD and the software of the iPad in HD mode on my iPad when I'm away from home.  When I install the Slingbox using their setup program web-based, he pointed out that I don't have my network configured to optimize performance for the visualization of the internet, which is what I need for the iPad.  I think that I don't have the port forwarding for port 5001 set up properly on my system.  I can connect successfully to my Slingbox away from home on my iPad and my laptop, but the performance is indeed poor.

I have a modem cable and two routers E2000.  The first E2000 is connected to a modem cable into my home office and the second E2000 is in my home theater.  I used Cisco Connect on separate computers to configure two routers.  Here are the details:

    Cable modem:
    Scientific Atlanta
    Model DPX2203 series
    Part number 4006351
"Ethernet" connected to the "Internet" Router 1 connection.

    Router 1:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.1.1
    Wireless enabled.
'Internet' connected to the modem cable.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Seagate drive network storage
    2 desktop PC
    3 desktop PC
    4. the Router 2

    Router 2:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.2.1
    Wireless enabled
'Internet' connected Router 1 "Ethernet 4'.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Slingbox PRO - HD
    2 desktop PC
    3 A / V Receiver
    4 Blu - ray player

How to configure the port forwarding for Slingbox PRO - HD on port 5001?  Also, what is the best way to configure two routers E2000 so that I can use as wireless access points?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I would recommend using the second E2000 as an access point only. Which simplifies and facilitates also the transmission much:

0 unplug the E2000 second the first. Connect a computer to the second E2000. Open the web interface to http://192.168.2.1/
    1. change the address LAN IP of the second E2000 to 192.168.2.1. on 192.168.1.2.
    2. turn off the DHCP server on the same page.
    3. save the settings.
    4. disconnect the computer and son, one of the LAN ports of the second E2000 for the first E2000.

For other ports LAN to get an ethernet switch.

Now, all you have to do is to set up the port forwarding on the first E2000.

  • EA7500 Port Forwarding disorder

    Hello

I'm having a problem involving using the port forwarding on my new LInksys EA7500 router.

Everything works well, it works as it should locally, with my Apple TV, Windows desktop and all my phones.

But as soon as I set up a port forwarding using port 32400 "plex" and the Ip address of my SIN.

I start getting "failed to retrieve the queue of reading for this element. Please try again ".

This problem only when I try to use the plex locally, if I use the phone, on my 4g net, everything works as it should.

But not locally on my LAN/WLAN.

As soon as I remove the port forwarding, it works locally again?

Can someone please help me if there is anything I should change?

    / Fredrik

I think I have it solved.
I've updated the Plex media server, rebooted, and now it seems to work.
